If you wish to report a suspect number or have any information that leads you to think a number is suspect go to the homepage and report it there and add your comments. There is no point in breaking into a thread as you comments will quickly disappear and the number will not be registered. However, as you seem to be being followed very quickly by a rebuttal I think you are both the same person. So p..s off.

Called me last Thurs (21st Jan) at 09:58 while I was n the shower; the phone rang four times (I wasn't going to answer anyway). When I dialled 1471 the number was "0000"; I'd have been effing furious had I answered to one of these AR5EH0LE5.

Got another call yesterday (25th Jan) at 13:14 from "0000" and this time was a young woman who said she was called "Kate Williams from UK Property Development" (or something like that) and wanted to arrange for a valuer to come round and give me a "Free" valuation on my house.

I asked her why my Caller ID was showing "0000" and she said that there was a problem with their phone system and it was showing the wrong Caller info and that she was calling me from Blackpool, Lancs (she then recited a phone number, I didn't have a pen handy so I can't recall it). I said "It's not very likely that your company phone system is corrupting the number, so why have you faked your Caller ID info and how? I'd like to know this.".

At this point she hung up on me. Nice.

I guess that "0000" is used by more than one set of scammers so it may not be a fake debt collector or fake telemarker,  fake Microsoft Approved Technician etc - it could be anyone.

My phone service provider (Virgin) blocks with held numbers so by faking the Caller ID they can get around this.

What I can't understand is why the Telephone Service Providers (Virgin, BT, Sky, Plusnet, TalkTalk etc) can't detect these dodgy or incomplete numbers and also detect that they are coming from overseas and block them. Thankfully I'm only getting a few of these calls a week and use them for my entertainment.
