- Jay replies to AndyLove it.....then you woke up right!?
- agentI answered the call and then when I answered there was a slight sound of static. there was the sound of something like when you lose at an old video game. first time it has happened to me. Is it possible to trace a call?
- vvistosa replies to DebHad a call from the same number last night. As soon as ansaphone clicked on, they hung up. Have just had another call - man with indian-sounding accent, who knew my name, said I had a virus on my computer - was I aware of this?? It was about to wreck my pc. If I put my computer on, he would go through it with me. Said I had an expert computer guy who could help (true!) and asked for a number we could call him back on. He started with 020 - then hung up. Surprise, surprise!! Dialled 1471 and got 0000000.
- Bucks ladyThis number keeps ringing at least 2 -3 times aday. So far the answer machine has kicked in and after a brief silence says goodbye. Today the second call of the day we heard the phone being slammed down but no speech was picked up. Hoping they have got the message or not!

- Sceptic AlJust had a call the same as vvistosa. Indian-accent claimed to be from Microsoft Security, they 'knew' I had a virus on my computer from chatting/gaming and could I just turn it on and he would be able to show me the problem. Yeah, right... Knew my name/address/tel. no. but couldn't give me the computer's IP address or what type of computer. When asked for his name and phone number he told me: Andrew James, 020 30 31 52 62. As I don't currently need any malware on my computer, I thanked him and hung up. Checked 1471 and got the seven zeros.
How come you don't ever get any emails warning you about these leeches instead of the usual 'worst virus ever' hoaxes? - UnknownSome man named Victor with ACS. Threatened me. Said I had a loan, which I did not. This is a scam. I hung up, and told him to stop calling me. He said that he would keep calling me.
This is ridiculous. He had a heavy accent and everything.- Call type: Debt collector

- HmmmmReceived calls from Unknown Name; Unknown Caller; 000-000-0000; Unknown Name (905-917-8989); Unknown Name (999-910-0120) All in the same day. Check the other numbers I've stated on this service and you will see that others indicate that they are likely scams.
- Caller: Unknown
- Twinkle replies to MeganI think what happens is the computer dials about twenty numbers at the same time, once one of the calls is answered, the others disconnect. This is why when you answer the phone there is usually no one there.
- Twinkle replies to SiThat's a good idea making noises at them lol. I told someone I'd died last week, not phoned me since. Bloody idiots. Does make you wonder though what they are up to and if they know your name and that how much more info do they have??!!
- 0000000 bothersomeI find it annoying that people are able to manipulate computers and such so that they don't have to identify themselves. It's creepy!
- annoyed 0000000 receiverfirst off how does someone call me from a number like 0000000?
the call I received is telling me that I owe money for not paying off a payday loan, bull [***] I have not once received paperwork from anyone stating I owed money. Now mind you I am talking to what they say is an investigating officer with a very American name but speaks with an Indian accent, I feel for this once and ended up paying 1000.00, and funny that the holidays are coming near and that seems to be the time the call me, well no more, stop freaking calling me, I am not giving you or anyone another penny.- Caller: unknown
