- 123hoboI just had a call from this number and spoke to two people with strong sub-continent accents. For me, they were saying something about being rewarded for being a long-term Telstra customer (which I wasn't) and I was going to get free local calls and discounted international calls. I couldn't quite make out what they were saying exactly and kept telling them I couldn't understand because the line was crappy. Was very fishy. Eventually they hung up.

- JessieI work for a global company and found it weird that a 0011 number is calling into Australia. It's hard for me not to answer the call as it could have been business related not to mention that they asked for 2 staff members by name but not the business owner. Telstra have no idea what it is cos they can't track it, and for the ADF to come up with that hogwash please, my hubby is in the ADF reserves and think's that theroy is rubbish. Why would we let China kill us, come on pull your head in. You are Aussie aren't you?

- Frankjust received a call - pause - 'hello?' - 'is this [my name]? (Indian male voice)' - yes - 'this is the service department of Windows Microsoft' ... I've heard this scam before ... told him I'm not interested and hung up.
I believe they probably want you to go to a website and click on a link which will download remote access software so they can control your PC remotely and steal your details, or possibly lock your computer and demand a ransom to unlock it. Either way - a known dodgy scam - hang up on them.- Caller: BS Indian scammers
- LanaI just recieved a phone call from the same number just few minutes ago and It dropped off before I can pick the phone up, Then I tried to retrieve the last caller number and it says the number is not complete. Very Strange indeed !!!!

- Groovy MailThis number has been calling for weeks so I finally decided to talk to them just encase I myself could pick up a new client and stuff with script reading international idiots, so this is how it went.
Indian Lady spoke to me saying they were from Telstra, I said I didnt have a Telstra Phone number and then a Indian Man spoke to me saying he's from Telecom and I duly replied to him, Telecom is a New Zealand and Australian based telecommunications company that was brought by and re-bradned to Telstra in 2001, you have called the phone number of technical support home based business for Groovy Mail email marketing solutions (which he didn't listene to me at all) and carried on with his pitch.
He kept calling me a Mam I yelled at him saying you I'm not old and I'm not a MAM! I also advised again they had reached Groovy Mail business in email marketing and if they required any technical support with Groovy Mail CRM. Clearly they still werent listening to me as they said we are not a telemarketing company...(not that I mentioned they were at all).
Then the Indian Lady came back on the phone saying hello, hello, hello so I got in first and advised you have reached the phone number of Groovy Mail technical support how can I help you. She then said yes mam and started her script.
I then said I'd like to speak to your marketing department so that I could sign you on as a client for my email marketing solutions business and then the phone went dead!
What everyone needs know about Telecommunications companies is that regardless of the no call registeration listings all Telecommunication's company this includes Vodafone, Optus, Telstra and TPG sell your phone number to third party database lists this is actually written in your Terms and Conditions at the time the phone contract is signed with phone provider. All Telecommunications company have arrangements and agreements with third party database lists as they receive a commission when they do so.
The no call registration does not extend to International telemarketers and therefore this is the reason why many of the telecommunications companies cannot stop certain calls coming through as the jurisdiction of the no call registration is based on Australian Telemarketing companies.
The practise of selling phone numbers to third party database listings has been very lucrative for many telecommunications companies.
When you decide to get a new phone number or phone you may want to ask for a phone number that is not sold to third database listings. (No doubt the sales men of phone companies will say I don't know what your talking about). Take the time to read your Terms and conditions of your contract even if it means sitting there for an hour, you'll find it written amongst the small print that you hate reading.
But your loop whole is, you can request for a phone number that isn't contracted out.- Caller: Telstra then Telcom

- Rossco| 1 reply1100 976 000 - Is most commonly used by the people purporting to be from "The Windows" support team.. I know when they are going to call me so I get ready for them.
Firstly, My Fax Machine rings - of course I am not going to get a fax..... Within 2 minutes, the home phone rings, I answer and lo and behold it "Dale from Bombay in Sydney or Patrick from Mumbai in Victoria" or who ever they say they are......
I am listed in the White Pages... Fax number first and home number second... These super geniuses from "The Windows" are just trolling the White Pages, hence why they know your name.... (Don't be so paranoid people)....
Any Who.... Just tag the buggers along, play with them and waste their time. The last one I got I played for 15 minutes pretending to do as he asked and then told him that I don't have the internet as I get all my information from books....
Another time I told them I was a registered sex offender (which I'm Not) and that I was not allowed a computer so they must be wrong..... and my favorite was when I told them I was very hard of hearing and they would have to yell down the phone line so I could hear them..... That was so so so funny to hear this barely understandable accent screaming down the phone line......
Have fun with them people, Life is men't do be just that Fun and Funny

- PBGot a call from 0011 976000 on May 29 2012. The guy called himself 'Rahul' and was an Indian and spoke in English first and then in Hindi when he realised he was calling an Indian. When I hung up on him, he called again and spoke in Hindi this time. He was abusive and said he knew where I live, and would come and rape and kill me.
