I got a call from this number (I'm in Melbourne).  It rang twice before stopping and was immediately followed at 2.49 am by another suss number (028094700) which I've had listed as a missed call before. Some people think that phone cards may be involved; others that it might be generated randomly by computer.  Needs to be sorted; maybe the numbers can be registered on the do not call gov site?

im not australian (staying in australia though), and i get that number too. It must be someone calling from overseas..

I also got 2 missed call from that number too. The First is because my phone ran out of battery, and 2nd time i did not notice. Tried to call back but couldn't. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm in Syd and using Optus.

This number keep calling me today more than 30 times.

I just got 2 phone calls from this number, im in sydney australia!! I ans both of them and it just sounded like no one was there so i hung up. I will check if its one of those scammer things where you answer and it costs you like $50 dollars for answering, im on contract with 3!!!

got a call just now from this number. i didnt answer cos it looked wierd...and it's 2.45am on a sunday night/monday morning. i doubt it was family overseas (they never call my mobile). id love to know what kinda scam crap this is...

I'm in Australia and got a call from the exact same number at 3am tonight. Fortunately for me it turned out to be a friend calling from The Netherlands!

Chances are it's a generic number used when dialling from a payphone/ using a call card/ etc.

Same story. Missed call from the number, cannot call back. In Adelaide with Crazy John's (Vodafone network).

I had several calls from this number, then later that night got a text message from a number from a mobile with the area code from Nepal.

I'm with 3 network and in Melbourne. I've had many missed calls from this number over the past six months or so. The latest being 3.30am this morning, which woke me up! I tried the number this morning from our landline and got a series of strange tones.

Many here feel it's something to do with receiving calls from OS. I don't have family who live OS and any friends who live OS online, I've not given my mobile number.

i have got 2 missed calls yesterday from this number. and one missed call today. i have think it may be the number displayed when someone calls from a public telephone in thailand. i get calls from friends i have made there from there mobiles and 0011 shows in the caller id even though 0011 is australias exit code. i am in australia. i suspect that it is from a public phone  in thailand cause i know a girl that prank calls me trying to get me too ring her back. is thailand a common trait among you guys???? if so this could be the answer. please let me know.

Hey! This number usually shows up when my mum calls me from Skype on my mob :) Im in Sydney... mum in Europe.

I got a call from 00-1197-6000 on 21 June 2009 at 4:30am and missed it. I would like to know who it is and why they are calling, as it is a rather odd number. I am also with 3 mobile.

Oh yes - I am in Australia; South Australia. So this is really bizarre that so many other people are commenting on this number.

i have had the number 0011976000 call a fwe times i have never answered i live in sydney not sure who is calling not going to answer if they call again.

A few mates of mine where in the old Swan View Tunnel in Perth late at night.

The tunnel is apparently haunted by a girl named Emily.

There is no reception in the tunnel but they receieved numerous phone calls from this number with weird breathing like noises in the background.

Not too sure whether to believe it was paranormal or not.

got a call from this no, didn't pick up and after 2 minutes had another call from private number, picked up and it turned of after 2 sec.
