2 missed calls 8.34/8.36pm Mon 3 March.I don't answer calls I don't know,voice text picks it up.No msg left.I am in Perth

Its a phone scam. They rang me tonight. told me that my internet service will be cancelled on monday. i twigged straight away.
i asked him who my provider was and he hung up.
just be careful. next thing they ask for credit card

These calls are from Korean telecommunication    Known as KT but sounds like it is from an American company because they use an American VoiceOver.  Dial in 00119760000 an extra digit or 00119760011,  you will get a foreign language response the the USA response fro KT !

These people are racist, vindictive and relentless.  Very often hostile and unaccountable.  Free to abuse and harass !  But they don't know they are being tracked down and will be brought to earth  they stand lose more than they gain!

Calls. Hangs up. Cant call back. Weird.

anybody else getting calls from 0011976000 I keep getting these on my mobile, wondering what is and where is this number?

Ok, THIS is weird.  I got a call on my mobile from the 0011976000 number and it hung up when I answered.  Just checked my email account and had a message from Fiji Air telling me they had just tried to ring me re. excess baggage questions I had spoken to them about.........back in September when my husband took a miserable flight with them.   ???  What the ??? The message is from the manager I spoke to over the phone and exchanged several emails with afterwards.  The email said he needs my husband's booking reference number in order to discuss his excess baggage.  

I have had these calls heaps and on tracing this number it is a scam site from Nigeria

I have received a few calls regularly from this number. I am from Melbourne using Optus sim card but am travelling through Europe atm. I have just spent a while reading through this forum and it sounds like there's multiple answers as to who the caller might be. How do I stop them from calling me?

Just got a call from 0011976000. when I answered it the girl with a very heavy Asian accent said she was from Microsoft and my IP address was showing errors. She wanted offline access to fix.
when I said I was from Microsoft she wanted my employer ID which I said was private. to which she hung up....

Calls received early morning & evening from this number - no one there. Tried calling back no. incomplete

0011976000 seems to be a portal for overseas calls coming into Australia. I've had automated call centres and relatives from the UK come through on this number. Just really annoying that you can't tell friend from foe. Either ignore or, if you have friends or family overseas, give them the benefit of the doubt. You can always hang-up.

They called me up and i live in Australia and said something about my computer and my laptop and wanted to talk to the owner of the laptop or the computer. I asked why and the Indian accent guy from the other side of the phone keep repeating what he said. It sounded like a scam.

I too just had a call from this number.. no answer the only theory I have is from a Gumtree reply I was looking at a car ad..gave my contact details number & email..so the seller can contact me..turn out it was fraud.. so my opinion its scam artists

Number 0011 976 000 may also be involved in computer hacking/hijacking/locking.

Latest Scam I've been subjected to:

"Hello, I'm ______ from Technical Dept of Windows. We've detected a bug/virus, etc and need to direct you on how to remove it" (or words to that effect).

"What Operating System do you use?"

The goal is now to get you sitting in front of your computer following their prompts. First they'll try to gain your trust by showing you that they know you have certain files on your computer. They will then progress to leading you to a website that will automatically download malware/virus onto your computer.

After you follow their prompts, your computer will be either hacked (banking passwords etc), or hijacked/locked until you pay a ransom to unlock it.

TIP 1: Tell all your family and friends about this.

TIP 2: When they phone, tell them straight up that all Australians are aware of all their scams and that they're wasting their time dialing Australian residents.

Basically just treat this number the same as "Private" or "Withheld" number from overseas.  It may/may not be a telemarketer or spam call.

I had this number calling me at 6:30 this morning, i think it was an indian man, no idea what he wanted as he pissed me off for waking me so i yelled at him, so he call me back specifically to say "f#ck you"
with optus, living in Aus

My dad gets these guys constantly calling him, just mess with them and ask which computer? say you have more than one computer in the same room and not conected to the internet. the call will just go in circles.

I got a call from this number on my home phone.  Don't have caller id, so answered it and someone said they were calling about my windows computer/  Just told them I didn't have a windows computer, then they hung up.
