This is getting very frustrating, over 20 calls this week, I'm glad to see its not just a N.American thing, I'm currently in Canada and thought it was because of this, but if anyone knows how to stop the feckers I'd appreciate it! I've answered once nd heard nothing!

Complete scum bags, I didnt know people still did prank calls, its frustrating that in a world of information on demand that apple or someone cannot make a product to block unwanted calls!

Just received a call from 00123456789. Curious I answered. It was silent and the caller out waited me until I hung up.  Feeling slightly worried, if details from my smart phone have transferred in any way or form !

I have been getting up to 8 calls PER DAY from these people for the last 2 months and apparently there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it! It has been driving me insane, I answered them the first time and they told me they are from an claims company who told me they can compensate me for $4-$5,000 and then asked me what kind of accident I have had... I told them how can they know how much compensation they can give me if they don't even know what 'accident' I have had?! The guys (who sounded Indian) then put the phone down on me, and the calls continued for another month...then yesterday I decided to pick up and a woman (Indian) started babbling on about claims AGAIN and I told her to stop calling me...15 mins later I get another call from them, and 4 further phone calls since! Who are they? How do I make it stop??!!

I receive frequent missed calls from this number, the average is 9 a day for the last 2 weeks!
I usually ignore them because usually you pick up the phone and they put it down at their end, only once did I hear a real person of Indian origin, saying "hello, hello hello hello" I said take me off your list now! otherwise I will call the police! but it just continued "hello, hello  etc....
When I realised how futile this was and it also dawned on me that I was probably being charged for the duration of the phone call I put it down! I have contacted my service provider who said that they would try to find out who these numbers belonged to and to warn them from contacting Orange users again, but their advice was that if they called again, to call the police!

I've since had a further 2 more calls and ignored them. (Baffled) . Reading comments off meira and blake123 I will take on board advice. Thanks.

i was getting about 5 calls per work day from this number, i belive that they get your number from ad sites such as gumtree and pets classifieds etc and then ring you trying to get your credit info. i finally answerewd one of the call and it was an indian guy whos name was of course john asking me about an accedenit i had so i started chatting [***] about whiplash and he became very interested, he then asked for my full name home address and post code so i said to him that i would give him the post code f...u.....c.....k yes yes what is the second part y...o...u i then hung up, 3 seconds later the same guy rings back on a differesnt number 001023456789 and asks for the details agian. and yes the idiot did enter [***] off as my post code i then asked him to tell me his company name and he said it was his own buisness and that it was called 3intels  ? never heard of it googled it and couldnt find it so i told him that his company had just phoned through to the uk trading standards head office and infomed him that the police had be contacted. he then shouted some native camel down the phone and hung up, excellent what a mong no i dont really work for trading standards nor have i contacted the police but i will post on this wall again if he does ring

I got two calls before 9am from this weird number.  The second one I actually answered.  Long delay, then a recorded message from 'Frederickson International' asking me to call some phone number and quote some reference number.  sounds like a debt company to me.  Obviously I am not intending to call it.  I have no debts.  I am being plagued by about five different companies though, all by recorded message.  This was the latest number they used.

got a call telling me they were from windows and I had a error on my computer and for me to sit in front of my computer now I hung up7

Got a call today with regards to me having an internet virus. I couldn't understand what the man was saying and it seemed it didn,t really have a clue what he was talking about. I hung up.

the number 00123456789 is harassing me with calls and hanging up when I answer. A friend thinks that it is a holiday let or Time share company

On reading the above comments this appears to be someone indeed searching credit records re debt and accident reports I have had lots of texts/calls regarding an accident I had last year but do not intend to claim for. How do they access accident records? No police involved so it is probably from solicitors records.

My experience with 00123456789 is different to the ones listed above. They called me saying that they had discovered that my Windows Computer was having issues starting up and slow connection speeds. They wanted me to sit at my computer and go through the startup process.

My computer DOES suffer these issues so I was confused as to how they had this information. When I asked them, they said that my computer is linked to my phone number and they could see the issues.

This appears to be highly unusual and I decided not to continue the call. The company name given was 24/7 something. I couldn't understand due to the strong Indian accent.

today i got a call from 00123456789 and i picked up ,but they hang up on me... i get calls like this almost every day (not from the same number) and they always hung up on me when i pick up :@

Got a call today at 14:20, no repsonse when answered so presume its a dialler with no one to answer call or its just a waster, anyhow if anyone knows how to block numbers on the i-phone I would be grateful if you could share !!

i had a missed call on my mobile phone and they tried calling on land line. I ignored it, as i dont know anyone abroad at the mo. It did how ever come up as Salem,OH under the number on my mobile. These vile pieces of c**p need to be delt with. What happens if I were elderly ???

Just had a call from this number on the landline.  It was a male voice that went straight into advising it was a call about my computer.  Don't think he identified the company, although I may have missed it as thought it was a recording at first, so only half listened.  But I told him he had the wrong number, and he immediately hung up without any further words being spoken.

Further to previous post, I've been researching the origins of this telephone number, and stumbled upon an article in the Guardian from 2010.  Had I continued the call, I'm in no doubt it would have mirrored the article:

if this number is calling from abroad, just be careful of any charges you may incur from your phone provider if you do answer it!

I keep getting calls from this number too. i dont answer because i dont know anyone in the US who would phone me.
so so so annoying
how can i make it stop?!
