To all of those responders who have said they have had a good service from World Lotto Corporation: How can you possibly trust any unsolicited phone call? When we hear of people getting conned out of their money we are normally annoyed at the people doing the conning. However people like yourselves, if you are genuine, deserve to be conned. To encourage people to trust unsolicited phone calls is irresponsible.

You're not very bright are you?

They are the same person, posting from the same computer with the same IP address.  Can you guess what company he might own?

I have had many calls from them and usually I hang up, but decided to paly along and all was the same, wanted DOB (I gave a false one) and my christian name (again gave false one) then wanted my crddit card details, I said no as I dont know who you are, so they went on about PAYSAFE and listed three shops close to me that I could get the £27 vioucher from.

They wanted an email  ddress and monile number (told her that i didnt have a computer or a mobile lol !) This was all from an asian woman called Kathy (as if!)

She said she woudl phone back the next day once I had purchased my paysafe voucher, she rang again today and asked for the voucher but I told her that I had gone to my neighbours computer and looks up the company and surprise and it was a scam. She didnt like that and siad what had I seen, I said I havent got the time to go into it , but it's a scam and I will stick with the Lotto

    She hung up.. shame!

All messages on here that say they are having a wonderful time playing this lottery are false (obvious to most, but not to others it seems)

Just had a lengthy conversation with an Asian man called 'Nick Robinson' who explained his British name by saying he had converted to Christianity!!!  Didn't know you had to change your name to do that.  Gave me all the usual speel about legitimacy of World Lotto Corporation and like a plank I gave him my name, date of birth and email address.  Hope that wasn't too much information.  Didn't give any bank details (thank god) as wanted to check out reviews first.  After reading all other comments I'm petrified my ID will be stolen as he had my home address from somewhere (not from me). He's calling back in a minute so I'll tell him to get lost.

That number, 004233779797, is, indeed the number of World Lotto Corporatation which, as others have posted, is a legitimate company.

I had a call call from one Justin Brown yesterday.  He didn't tell me I'd already won a prize, but he did try to sell me about 40 pounds worth of tickets.

I didn't like his approach at all.  He gave me pre-selected numbers which he told me were specially selected as those that occur most often.  Over the short term, perhaps, some numbers figure more regularly than others, but over the long term, if the selection process is random as it should be, each number will have an equal chance of being selected.  He then tried to get me into the mood by asking what I would do with vast winnings.  The final touch was to ask me my date of birth and, surprise! surprise! my date and month of birth were the same as his.  Nothing to do to with getting me to buy in to the idea of number selections co-inciding, then?

I was cautious, anyway, because, over a long period, I have been plagued with bogus callers of all kinds, guaranting me refunds on supposedly overpaid bank charges and heaven knows what else.  The callers are becoming more sophisticated.  If you have a panel that displays a number ringing you, don't be duped into believing, necessarily, that it is a legitimate number.  More than once, I have dialed 1471 after a call and the number has rung out for a few seconds, then the line has gone dead.

I even had one chap calling me from a number I could ring back on.  He was urging me to go to a shop local to me that has a Western Union facility that enables payments to be made.  The idea was that I was supposed to pay a sum in excess of hundred pounds using a special code he gave me, where upon several thousand pounds in overpaid bank charges would be credited to my account.  Then I was supposed to ring him back.  Banks simply don't work that way.  If they've money to refund you, they'll pay it direct into your account.  They won't send you scurrying off to a shop to pay a fee.  And even if you can ring them back, you won't be able to contact them by any other means.

However, I did establish that my caller yesterday, Justin Brown, was from World Lotto Corporation.  Dubious sales tactics but a legitimate company.

My advice, in summary, is simple.  Don't give credit card details over the phone and don't part with cash at the behest of a caller you haven't established is genuine in any other way.

If you spoke to an actual representative from the lotto company, then I'm reasonably sure it is a kosher outfit.

But even he is a fraudster, he will need more information than you gave him to clone your ID, information fraudsters seem able to get hold of easily enough anyway.  Countless of them seem to have all that stuff about me.  But I have never been victim of fully fledged ID fraud.

Today is 20th september 2010 and i recieved a call from the 'world lotto corperation'
They informed me that for a small price i could win money. All they seem to want was my debit card.
I told them that i would think about it because there are many scams out there. David Parker said he would call me tomorrow at 5pm to take my card details.
I have never heard of this corp and plus the guy was from pakistan, which had me worried.
I believe the whole thing is a con and would love to get them prosecuted
The number he gave is 0042-3377-9797

A woman called Samantha called me from World Lotto Corporation, giving me two sets of numbers for this Friday lotto. She then asked me for credit card details, luckily scam came to mind and I put the phone down on her. I rang back this number and guess what it doesn't exist. Thank God I was one step ahead of her.

A man called Michael Clark called, Asked for DOB, phone and email. Claimed a winning of 12 000 provided £25.00 was spent for the tickets. Very strange accent either indian or german could make out what. Said he was from world  lotto corporation but probably a scammer using the corporations name.

Rang by Indian sounding male, who said he was calling from World Lottery Corporation - I said I was not interested and did not buy anything over the 'phone. He argued and said he was not selling, but when I still said I wasn't interested, he said "shut up" and hung up on me. I was upset, not so much by his rudeness, but by the fact that he deprived me of the opportunity to put the phone down on him. Having read all the other comments posted, I think I had a lucky escape !!
