Got a call from 0044, thats all it was! Didn't answer as thought it was such an odd number. Has anyone got any idea who this might be?

Same problem - Rang off before answer possible.

I had a number of calls earlier this year at the same time every day (13:50). My 'caller display' showed 0044. When I answered the 'phone, there was silence and the 'phone-line went dead. I called BT. I asked BT if this could be a mechanical fault as I received the call at the same time every day. They said this was unlikely.
Eventually, I answered a call and there was a human being at the other end. She said she was 'phoning on behalf of a charity. She was very polite. I have not had any similar calls since. I think these calls are made my a computer and if the computer is unable to connect the answered call to an agent, it hangs up. This would explain the regular timing.

I keep getting call from 0044 744 041 55, thats all that comes on my dialer phone.  Would like to find out who it is

Had a call from 0044 today at 10.21 BST.  Polite lady.  Think she said she was from the Ministry of Justice.  Oddly my voice was repeated very clearly after about 2 seconds - like a very delayed echo.  I rang off fairly quickly.

Had three calls from this number today about washing machines!!!

I think these calls are being made by a Company Named Mediatel Services Private Limited, having one of their offices at First Floor, Dyal Singh Public Library Building, (Near ITO), New Delhi owner of the Company is Shri Deepak Suri (Email : dddeepaksuri@yahoo.co.in) and all affairs of the company are being managed by one Dinesh Anand (Phone Numbers (11)-41416513, 41416514).
The company is managing a chat service (including adult chat as per advt ) for which about 20 girls are employed by them. Callers calling the international calls are diverted to this call centre through VOIP and attended by these girls

I'm a guy living in Sweden and I've got this mysterious calls from the UK: 00447086704848 a couple of times, wich I haven't managed to answer since I've been busy.
What is it all about? Is it some evil witchcraft and trickery all behind it? Should I just ignore if they call again?
