I am in Sri Lanka for holiday using local sim card. I found missing call from this strange number and out of curiosity tried to call back twice but no answer

Well a friend of mine got a call from 0044 795635 1401 at the normal phone of her farmacy... She didn't answer as she was affraid it was a bank debits collector office. I called from my cellphone and left it ring once. I immediatelly had a call back. Answering me in my own greek language,  a man asked me why I called. I said I saw a call from this number and caaled back. He said YOU (that is true) called us first. Then asked me my name. I gave it to him. Then asked if I was calling from Volos! He knew my position! I said yes but what is there? (I ment what kind of office). He just informed me I was calling London... I knew that... He didn't want to give further info...
I suppose that's a bank debits collector office, for bank debits SOLD in foreigner big companies and now they start annoying....

Got a call from 004420888789888 when i phoned it back up no ringing noise and no one answering it. Is this ipps or con men??  Thought it was international number. Could any one let me know please

This number has called my UK  land line literally scores of time and seems to be fax machine.
Occasionally I have picked up the receiver merely out of curiosity and can confirm there appears to be no person at the other end of the line except a beeping tone much like a fax machine ?!
Idiots wasting my time and cramming my answer machine with nothing but noise

I keep getting calls from 00447417469134. If the call were from within the UK the 0044 would not prefix the number.
I just ignore it. It cannot be a legitimate number and if it is then it's a very odd one.
