Report a phone call from 00917024122123 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Mike CookI think you are mistaken about the country code. 91 is for India, and an awful lot of British companies have their call centres there.
- S AllenThis number called me today, unusually I picked up and heard some sort of salsa music, waited a few seconds then hung up. I am registered with the TPS and am ex-directory so the calls must be generated by a random dialling system.
- Anne Harperthey have been calling me several times a week - I called BT who tell me they cannot block international numbers. I just wish they'd get bored and stop it the music is not that good either... v.humph-making
- fredanswered the call and was hung up on
- we to are registered with telephone preference etc etc and have our number blocked so as to protect our family from pranks gimmicks and nuisance calls -how
are they able to get through - OFTEL BT whoever take note !!!!!! - Andy ReadWe've have this number call 2 or 3 times over a number of weeks - just get music played for a while until we hang up. Not sure why people have suggested this number is from Dubai, because +91 is the international dialling code for India.
- Andy ReadFurther to previous, I've read several comments about 'how do they get around TPS' - unfortunately the Telephone/Mail Preference Service (TPS/MPS) is not blocking system, but simply a code of practice run by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) asking members who wish to play by the rules to check their phone/address lists against the TPS/MPS database before trying to contact you.
Like similar efforts like the US CanSpam and similar UK legislation this may be half useful for legit companies working within acceptable ethical standards, but it's a complete waste of time for real spammers who have no regard whatsoever for such codes of practice. - GailThese people have been calling our landline asking for my mum for about a month now, so im watching tv and it's them phoning again so i say hello, they ask to speak to my mum, i told them she werent there and he asked when will she be back i said i didnt know, which was the truth! he said that doesn't sound right how can you not know when she will be back (in an angered tone) i said becuase im not her keeper so im sorry i don't know.... he hung up....
I REALLY WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT COMPANY IS DOING THIS! ID HAVE A FEW THINGS TO SAY - crystalmooni have just received a call from this number too. as far as i'm aware, TPS only works for UK numbers, so if someone is calling from abroad then they are able to contact us, and aren't covered by the TPS rules.
- edtps carries a hefty £5000 fine if a marketing company does phone a telephone preferencing service (tps) number. i know my company has paid one.
- sheenawe receive calls constantly from this number - when I answer they hang up. It is obviously and international number and I hope there are no charges to me for these incoming calls
- JamilJust got a call from this number: 00917024122123. The phone was ringing and I was late picking it up. There was no message on my answering phone. I dialled 1471 and got the number. I guess people should be careful about this call. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS.
- GeorginaI just had a cll from this number, it only rang once so I didn't get to the phone in time but did 1471 and Googled it. I have no connection with Dubai so I have no idea why they are calling me. I am also registered with the telphone preference service but still get loads of these irritating calls at all times, usually asking for the previous owner who moved out 18 months ago. If no one says 'hello' immediately I just hang up. These sorts of calls ought to be made illegal as they are bloody annoying. My boyfriend is far less polite than I am if he ever takes the calls.
- Caller: 00917024122123
- CliffThis number, 00917024122123, seems to call me on a monthly basis. Usually three or four times and always around mid-day. No one on the other end ever speaks, they just hang up.
Apart from being annoying, I just wonder at the mentality of anyone who wastes money making international calls like this for no reason. It is possible to block these with call barring, but unfortunately, this costs money. - Dannywas called by this number at 18:39 Dec 17 2007 rang just half a ring and cut off glad i looked it up here and did not do anything else.
- keitybabesSome bloke alled Sam trying to sell a Vodaphone contract but also rang parents number. Both of us suscribe to Telephone Preference Service, never consent to companies sending me junk mail etc and both have witheld number. Seems a bit strange and probably best ignored!
- Mike WMonday December 17 2007 - A caller who identified himself as "Shane" immediately aroused my suspicion since he had a South Asian accent. It is a name very seldom found amongst speakers with that accent. He said he was a Verification Officer for World Wide Finance and he told me I was a householder with a mortgage. I quickly moved to stop the call by saying I did not want to talk with him. He persisted and I repeated - "Please put the phone down and stop calling me". He swore and slammed the phone down. Because he described himself as a Verification Officer, I informed Crimestoppers. Real Verification Officers NEVER phone. This is clearly some sort of criminal enterprise.
- mrs georgei am getting calls from 00917024122123 everyday 2/3 times since 2 weeks. They never answer the call .WHO IS THIS?? A TOTAL NUISANCE.
- reetkept phoning and hanging up when called back number didnt exist
- PhilA call from this hit the BT line on my PBX this evening at 17:30. Because it's a line that we both use, it goes to an IVR if someone calls it, and the caller has to choose who to speak to. Not surprised they hung up. Thanks asterisk - another one for the blacklist if not worse.
- Mary WareThis number called me about 20mins ago 00917024122123 ???????????????I am from Scotland
