I got a silent call from this number, rang back to get a full voicemail box number but followed the options and found it was from a Vauxhall Business Centre?????  Don't know why, hope they aren't trying to sell me one of their rubbish cars!

Had three calls over two days from this number - 1124hrs 07/10/2011; 1142hrs 08/10/2011 & 1315hrs 08/10/2011.  The female caller stated she was calling from Bulldog Security, as their records showed there was no alarm installed on our number (wrong).

Requested details of caller and company address for a TPS Complaint, the caller asked if registered with TPS and indicated the number had slipped through checks.

When pressed for details, the caller swore and ended call abruptly

Had a call from this number but the no answered when I picked up the call. They are just nuisance!

Just this moment had a call from this number, no message left, so can't be important. Couldn't be [***] to phone them back. I never answer numbers I don't recognise.

Had a call from someone who claimed to be Don from Dalton Secuity

Got a call from teh above, no msg left, I didn't call back. Assume its a marketing company as I don't know the number

Had a call today despite being registered with TPS. They are Bulldog Security selling monitored alarm systems.

01158456470 has rung me 3 times in the last 2 days - I've not answered as I rarely answer numbers I don't recognise - checked out the number with "who calls me .com" & it's some dodgy firm pretending to be an alarm company that "knows" there's no alarm at the address! - obviously trying to see which houses are easier to burgle & finding out about alarms this way!
As I'm on TPS for no telesales calls, they shouldn't've been calling me, which is another indication that this firm is completely dodgy.

This number called today 7/8/2012 @ 13:25.  No message left.  They have wasted their own time and effort.

Female called up today asking for me by name, I asked name of caller - reply was "Bulldog Security".  I was then asked if I wanted to know why they were calling.  Replied  'No' and informed them I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service.  Lady said they would remove me from their records..

Bulldog Security. My number is registered with the TPS. Didn't take my complaint seriously, supervisor hung up on me.

This number called me today and asked for me by name. My surname is very unusual and often people find it difficult to pronounce - as happened here. I said that the name they were saying was not me. The woman sounded rather perplexed and when I asked who was calling she put the phone down. I too are on TPS. On tracing call it came back to Bulldog Security

Bulldog security - Nottingham - "running a national awareness campaign" - why do these scummy nuisance callers start every phone call with a lie, you are selling something, do you think the public is stupid?

Very rude woman who obviously is unable to get a useful job, so has to resort to lying and abusing people all day long in order to sell overpriced alarm systems. Ignoring tps and breaking the law as they all do.

If you want to stop nuisance calls, complain in writing, to the operation director, Simon Entwhistle at the information commissioners office, one day they might actually do something about it, This video does not inspire confidence that anything is ever going to stop this problem, but a million letters might.

Just had a very insistent man on the phone from this number - said he was from Bulldog Security.  He was trying to make an appointment to come and see me tomorrow.  I said I wasn't interested, but he feigned incredulousness at this, questioned my knowledge of home security (as though I was too stupid to have thought about this before) and only when I argued with him and told him twice that I did not want him to come did he put the phone down on me.  Very, very pushy - I actually told him that I didn't want him to come because I felt that he was being so pushy that if I let him into my house he wouldn't leave until I signed up.  His did say that they were not allowed to do that, so I told him he was wasting his time and there was further argument.  I'm now worried about what might happen if he's phoning around older and vulnerable people - I think I'm going to call the police.

I'll also write to the local paper and the information commissioner (we are TPSed too)

I wonder if they are trained to be rude on purpose as none of the callers above seem to actually want to persuade to sell, just use bullying and fear.

I had a number of calls from this company about 6 month ago. They put the phone down when encountering an answer machine. They have just started again. Had been having a lie in after not getting to bed until 3.00am and was woken up by 'Carol' from Bulldog Security at 10.15. Do we now have to unplug our phones if we want to sleep undisturbed by these scummy callers? I have two numbers here - domestic and business. The business number gets its own cold calls from IT and cleaning firms and these invariably stop when they know they are ringing a helpline for very sick, frightened people. The domestic line gets people like Carol. I'm registered with TPS and will now complain too. Thanks to those who posted the link.

Carrying on the crime theme the following message was sent from Notts police on Tuesday:

Bulldog Security sales people are operating in the area. It has been reported to us that they are making false statements about Nottinghamshire Police. That the police will not attend alarms, that neighbourhood watch is of no use whatsoever and that the police no longer attend due to lack of funding.

Nottinghamshire Police do not in any way endorse this company and have referred such claims to Trading Standards. The company have been contacted and are withdrawing their sales staff from the area and will be conducting an internal review.

Nottinghamshire Police do respond to sequentially confirmed alarm systems.

Neighbourhood Watch schemes in this area have provided early alerts for many suspicious people in the area, the local neighbourhood policing team has responded quickly and the individuals have been located and requested to leave the area. There has been very positive results for the scheme and if your area is not operating a local scheme then please contact PCSO Chris Archer, who can assist with setting one up locally.

Please report any suspicious salespeople in the area on the 0300 300 9999 number, or 999 if an emergency.

Cllr G Mullis reported that two scams were being operated in the area. The first consists of
someone phoning to deal with a problem to the household computer, which involves them
accessing it remotely thus enabling them to obtain personal information including credit
card details. When access is denied the caller can become very aggressive. The police advise
putting the phone down on the caller. The second involves calls from Bulldog Security
saying that the police are no longer coming out when alarms go off, but their guards will
attend. Police advice is not to pay any money, not to sign any contract and not to allow
them into your property. For any crime prevention advice phone 101 and ask for the Crime
Prevention Officer."

My mother received this phone call on saturday morning around 11:00, she could hardly hear the person on the other end and after a few moments hung up and then did a 1471. On recording the number she was concerned because she lives in Long Eaton and it was a local number yet unfamiliar with our large family living thereabouts. My mother is 90 and does not need phone calls like this even though she is registered with TPS.

This number called to say they were installing complimentary???!!! security systems and when I said I wasn't interested they asked me why? I just repeated that I wasn't interested and the caller went into a huff. Just concerned that vulnerable people might be caught out and disclose whether they have security or not. Dodgy???

This number rang last year and again today. He is extremely rude when told that we are happy with our alarm system. He make derogatory remarks about us and hangs up. He was exactly the same last year, because I remember him telling us we were stupid.

I have had several calls over the past several months from people claiming to work for Bulldog Security. They claimed their system to be the best and that they could save me money. My security system also claimed their's was the best and I know how much I paid for it. They would not provide me with any costs and wanted me to tell them how much my system cost. When I would not reveal too much proprietary information they ended the call. I also informed them previously that I was registered with the TPS, yet they still call several times monthly.
