Report a phone call from 01158456470 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- 01158456470Got a call this morning from them. They said they were raising awareness about crime 'in my area'. They said crime was increasing. I told them the statistics showed that crime was decreasing.
I asked if they acted within the law to which they replied yes. So I said it was unlawful to make an unsolicited call to a number registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). They said they would send an 'error report' to TPS. It's not TPS's fault that they called me, it's their fault for not checking with TPS in the first place. I said I would 'also' contact the TPS, which I have done.- Caller: Bulldog Security

- miffedwhat is the point of registering with call preference service when they still allow cold calls to filter through
- Wendy for EdnaYet again another phone call from this number whilst my mother was out. She always does a 1471 when coming in incase any othe family have phoned her. On dialling the number all I get is an voice saying Ive contacted someone on the marketing team but nothing said about what company it is. Whats the point in being with registered with TPS if this still persists.
- pennysweetsReceived call today from man asking to speak to Mr or Mrs M....
Knowing it was nobody important because I do not have the same name as my partner, I asked 'Why?'
He insolently replied 'Because I obviously want to speak to them.'
I asked 'Who are you?'
He replied 'Well, if you're going to-' at which point I cut him off.
1471 revealed the number to be 0115 845 6470 so I rang it. I got through to a recorded message informing me I had spoken to one of 'our marketing consultants'. No company name was given.
Our number is registered with TPS.- Caller: Name refused.

- tommycocklesJust had a call from these people, I asked where they had got my number from as I was registered with tps. He replied that as they adhere to the tps code of conduct my number must have been removed from the tps list. Judging by the other comments on here that is plainly untrue. Really fed up with the number of calls from companies such as this. Will any official body ever do anything to stop this?

- DaveReceived a call from Chris of Bulldog Security on 14 Feb 13. Before he had the opportunity to 'sell' I asked how he got my number as I was registered with BT TPS. He apologised for the call, said he would remove my number from his data base and hung up....!!

- amber replies to Bobmy mum to got a call from bulldog securities very pushy said it was a one off payment of a £100 but not so wanted more money per month , he pushed for an appoiment next day if mother had not told me to which i contacted them to say she did not want it, he had the cheek to phone mum back and still try for a meeting next day , what a scam reported to the tps so they must be trying people in the doncaster area so please be aware and be on your guard
- ShirleyHWe actually allowed a representative to come to the house after being told that for £99.00 we would get an alarm system in the house under a National Awareness Campaign. BEWARE .... You may well get the basic equipment, three sensors, one door alarm and a box, but nothing else unless you sign up to pay a monthly amount. The equipment is no good on its own, you need to be able to pay for the monitoring !!
It was a huge struggle to get he very persistant man who came to tell the real story !!
I am sure that the product may well be a good one but for sure we were mis informed by the initial contact.
Eventually he was asked to leave the house without selling anything as we are not lovers of someone trying to lead us up the garden path !!! We may be old but not stupid !!- Caller: Bulldog Security

- Norm replies to AnonymA right Mickey Mouse outfit is this one!! Pain in the buttocks. Had them on the phone several times and I know of others who have had cold phone calls. If it wasn't illegal in this country I would advise a very loud noise down the phone when they call. Something like a personal attack alarm. That usually sorts the little b*ggers.
Best advice is steer clear. - JMJ| 1 replyI just had a call from this number, claiming to be Bulldog Security, saying crime was up in my area and they were conducting a survey to find out what security I have in place! I'm not that naive, but I'm worried that vulnerable elderly people might fall for it. I told the caller I wasn't interested and hung up. I immediately got another cold call from a different number. I suspect (but can't prove) that they called back on a different (mobile) number to stop me using 1471. The second caller didn't even bother to say he was calling from any particular company. It didn't work as I have caller id display and a good memory for numbers.
Oh, and like lots of other people who have reported these calls, my number is registered with TPS.- Caller: claiming to be Bulldog Security

- GerardCalled mid-afternoon, left a silent message
- Kath| 1 replyBulldog Security are also using the number 0115-845-6510. Someone calling himself "James" phoned today with "special" installation offer of £99 but no figures quoted for monitoring costs. Gave same lie about police not monitoring other alarm calls. Said supervisor would call phone about 6:30pm to confirm appointment for tomorrow. No call received. Have printed this blog and pinned it to the door and informed them that if they ring the door bell the police will be called.

- Steven Olding| 7 repliesI just had a call from this number, they were stating similar things to what the people above have said. The person I spoke with was "Gloria" she was pleasent enough, she started the call by telling me a survey had been conducted and that there were not many of their monitored alarms in my area. (I live in Leeds) and asked if I would like a consultant to come round and show me an alarm system. They informed me the alarm normally costs around £1,000 and that they are currently installing the alarm for £99 only. So, I have arranged a meeting for tomorrow. Obviously, I am now a little weary! I have googled them and they have some negative reports, including an old Police report, that when you click disapears. I have rang Nottinghamshire police and questioned this Company, they stated they had received negative reports of them, but, the company now complies with correct procedure and informed me that they got rid of the sales representative that stated incorrect informatio, also, the company had to show that they have complied with correct procedures by working alongside Trading Standards! Which they have shown proof that they have done.)
I am going to go ahead with my appointment and see what they say, as I do need an alarm and the alarm that they say they are selling is monitored and guarded, so it sounds good! As long as the price is OK!
I won't be conned, so I will follow this up after I have seen their people.

- aaronup until today, i actually worked for bulldog security. so fist things first
id like to apologise for the people who had a poor experience with some of the calls staff, i can ensure that everything is being done to prevent this sort of experience, calls are recorded and checked when possible, people being overly pushy, offensive or insulting DO get sacked without warning
secondly
the 'campaign' although wrongly names IMO is fact, police dont respond to break ins, they turn up within 48 hours to conduct a 'check up'. the guars that the systems are linked to are never further than a 5 mile raduis from your property and DO promise you an immediate response. the people on the phone do NOT come to the property, they simply book through the appointments, security reps attending the demonstrations, there is no push at all into a purchase at that point, its a simple matter of being shown the way the system operates, being left with a booklet to browse through, then the choice is in your own hands, theres no forced sale there
finally (i think)
not everyone working there is there because they lack the mental strength to pursue another career path, i myself have multiple qualifications, including 2 degrees in computer science, my one and only reason for working there was the lack of options elsewhere and the need to have an income
hopefully thats cleared a few things up as even though my time at the company is done, id hope people dont see the company in a false light, what they are doing, all be it possibly not quite in the right way (there are things id change about how its ran) are right, justified and true, maybe just worded or delivered wrong- Caller: the voice of reason

- aaron replies to JMJex bulldog employee here
did you catch the name of the person calling you? because its against company policy to ask about any security setups currently in place, they only ring of 1 number as they run off an extention system there
and the tps thing, seriously, is a waste of everyones time, tps were supposed to filter data and it was so poor, for a period of 2 months bulldog resorted to ringing straight from the phone book to try and avoid tps listed numbers
as stated in my own message on here, i apologise deeply for your poor experience, but if you can provide the name of the person you spoke to, i can possibly do something about it for you.
also, bulldog are currently working through northampton (as of yesterday)
any questions you may have, feel free to leave me a reply, id be more than happy to answer them for you to the best of my ability - aaron replies to Kathi know of the person you spoke to, he worked in the cubicle behind me
the management call he refered to was simply to confirm the appointment, it wouldnt have been james fault that call was not made
advisors will NEVER just turn up at your door either, there always has to be 2 confirmation calls before anyone is sent to see you as stated in the trade regulations
i know its a pain to people, and trust me, i hated having to do it myself, but please remember times are hard as hell right now, people have bills to pay and with jobs being scarce, this is what many people have to resort to simply to put food on the table
at least there not on the dole or robbing people, there putting in an honest days work and paying there taxes
its a poor job, but sometimes, we all have to do things we dont like - aaron replies to Steven Olding| 5 repliesprice is reasonable
depending on the package you want obviously
not every monitoring option is needed by everyone, so its tailored to fit your needs
ill give you a tip as well, when they give you your quote, even if your ready to bit there hands off, show interest, but ppanda that its a bit to much for you to do right now, you will then have the chance to speak to paul (company manager) or richard (brother of the CEO and a company director) they will give you a cheaper second quote
and the 10 discounted systems they offer are pants lol, they have as many systems discounted as they can sell during the week they campaign in the area
as im sure you have guessed......previous employee ;) - Steven Olding replies to Steven OldingRight, I had a rep come round to see me, his name was Tom, he was a very pleasent and friendly guy. (I appreciate all sales guys have to be!)
The equipment seems great, and I did in fact decide to purchase the equipment, I have paid £699 up from, then I pay £35 per month. I have signed in for 5 years. Overall, I think that's pretty decent, I informed the rep straight away I won't be paying a huge sum of money over!
They do do all the sales talk, as you'd expect them too, the price started out at £3,299, which I said no way, as I said, I had the sales talk after, I am not sure if he would have gone lower, but at £35 per month I was fairly happy.
If I have any issues with this company, I will update this blog, as I have been told all the servicing etc will be done, inclusive of the price at a time that suits me also, I have the engineer's mobile number too! The alarm is being fitted at the end of the week. (I was informed there's a 7 day perios that I can cancel)
I hope that it's as good as what the rep said, I will see.... - Steven Olding replies to aaron| 4 repliesThanks, I bought the system in the end, paying £699 up front and £35 p/m for 5 years, I think that's OK. Do you think I should have bartered a little more?? Could I call them and ask for another discount!?
Thanks - aaron replies to Steven Olding| 3 repliesthere was deffinately room to barter, ive seen people get home protection with the additions of carbon monoxide detectors, fire detectors, panic button and the pet sensors, coverign a 5 bedroom house including garage and loft entry points for 1200 a year
your price worked out to be VERY reasonable, dont at all get me wrong, but i believe you could have done it a shade cheaper had you spoke to paul or richard
either way, i hope your happy with your setup, it really is a great little system
