I too had a Asian sounding man contacting me today to say I have viruses on my computer!
He said originally he is from Microsoft but in the end after about a long winded conversation of over 15 minutes he said he calls from I global and his name is Steve! the number to ring him back on is 0211 0735454! He also said OMG and that I have over 2800 viruses on my computer and that it is going to crash in the next two days! he will help me fix it by logging into my computer!
I thought it is a scam but was amazed that he had my full name even with my initial. Not sure where he could get this from....
I informed Trading Standards about this call as well.

received call yesterday-Indian type female voice saying they represented Microsoft, that I had been experiencing errors on my computer and it was essential to erradicate corruption on my system.
She proceeded to give a step by step procedure that I should follow, then asking what I saw on screen.
Of course I had not, and would not carry out any such procedure.

I had a long chat with this chap, he said his name was Shaun but his accent was more like Indian origins. He said he could get their technicians to remote connect to my PC to fix problems and he mentioned the company was iGlobal.

I've had similar calls from another number for a company called Albion Global.

I suspect it is the same company and it is a scam to get access to my PC so they can steal my Id etc.

I told him to delete my details and if they phoned again I would report them to the police, he hung up.

Had a number of these calls despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service. They obviously think the rules don't apply to them.

Follow this link to make a complaint to the TPS (assuming you've already registered your number with them to stop unwanted marketing calls!)

Despite the telephone number looking like Birmingham (0121), it, like most of the "computer virus" scams, comes from overseas, therefore TPS can do nothing about it.  The main thing is not to allow them access to the computer as they will install spyware/malware,  Also tell as many people as possible that Microsoft, nor its partners, will ever cold call you, it would be a breach of their privacy rules.

Annoying!! I get several of these calls per day. Thick Indian accent and keep telling me my computer is infected with a virus. They say they are from Microsoft and that they are getting messages stating that my computer has malware on it. I have asked repeatedly for their information but they make excuses as to why they cannot give me their company name and number. I have asked and threatened them to not call me again but they do over and over again up til 9:00 pm at night. Now, I just keep them on the phone as long as possible and mess with them. I make up all kinds of stories and then laugh at them...I also tell them to speak ENGLISH, that I can't understand them...they just keep passing me from one person to another and none of them can be understood. Unfortunately I don't have caller id so don't know what number they are calling from but at least I am getting them spend money trying to call me for no reason.  What a bunch of morons!!!!!

Just had  a call from them this afternoon.  It was an Indian guy who I could hardly tell what he was saying.  He knew my Surname.  He said he was from what sounded like I-Google. He then went on to say something about my IP address and hard drive.  He also mumbled Something about Microsoft.

I hung up on him as it quite obviously some kind of tactic to get my Personal Details.  The number brought up is a fake caller id, as the number is too long.

The number was withheld however it was the exact same call as everyone has had.  What he said made no sense, when he asked me to turn on my computer for a couple of minutes I asked him if he meant my PC or laptop, he said my PC, I said I didn't have a PC and he hung up.  It was like something from Phone-Jacker...sir you have a pigeon in your account, please give us your sort code and account number so we can release it.

Got a call from this Number today when I ask who was there it just said (Goodbye) I wood give them goodbye if I  got hold of them, Never said a word except goodbye,  If you do get a call from this or any other number offering to fix or asking to let them go into your computer or claiming to be from microsoft  just hang up don't let them anywhere near your computer without  valid conformation of who they are to be  safe only let someone or company you  know or trust work on your computer, If you think there is problem with your computer go to a valid computer shop.
