I recd call they just hung up once I answered

Got a call and when I answered it someone whistled at me and hung up

had missed so called back they asked me to hold the line and nothing happened so looked on et and see allthese mesages some of my credit gone from fone

I received a call on my work mobile, but I did not answer it as I did not recognise the number. I am on Vodafone, but it was previously an Orange account.  Whilst searching on this site I came across the similar number 01253757066 - look at all the reports about that!

Today mum answered a call on dad's mobile from this number saying that they wanted to refund her £59 for tax they'd taken too much of, and she tried to say that dad was abroad but they said that isn't it a joint account (how did they know?) and really pushed her to give details...then the lady told her to give the card number, expiry date, security number on the back...unfortunately she gave the details rather naively (english isn't mum's first language).
When I came home mum told me about her curious call. Soon as she said they asked for her card number the thought FRAUD flashed in my head. I promptly called up Barclays and got them to tell me about all the transactions taken place today. Luckily all the transactions were by my mum and they quickly blocked the card. =). Phew! Mum knows how to spot a fraudster from now. But someone needs to investigate this number and how they are getting this information. I'll be talking to the police..we don't want it to happen to anyone else. Might not be as lucky next time.

Someone claiming to refund payment protection insurance. They are scammers. Do not give card details.

they called me too, wanting my credit detals so they could give me a refund i told them i did not have them with me , i called the police to check them out first before i give any details out

they just phoned me, thank god i didn't answer

Just had the same thing. Missed call, called them back and they hung up. I bet this is some sort of premium charge number and they're making a fortune, SCUM!

Got a missed call 2day, I called the number back and was told it was a company called Greenacre and the call was regarding money I am owed from PPI (Although they didn't ask who I was). They said they needed an account to pay the money back into. I told them I have an account but it has no debit facility, they replied it had to be a debit or credit account. I was then asked for my card number, valid from/ valid to dates and security code and was told I would recieve a reference number and the paperwork to make the claim. I told them I wouldn't give them my details, I then hung up. Definately a con!!!!

received call from this dodgy! lot, I never answer a call that I don't recognise, I checked out the number on the web and here we are completing this form!! I am sick to death of my personal data being sold! to some poxy low life scammers who then try to take advantage of others using data that they are sold by the corporates! Where's my cut!? everyone else seems to be making money out of my information!??

Just had a call, they hung up when I answered.  How are they getting people's mobile numbers???

Greenacres want to give me money back for overpayment of my car insurance policy !!! I called back twice as missed their call, just kept cutting off.... god knows how much that just cost me :(

Just had a missed call from them, tried calling back but just an automated voice msg

wife had call from greenacre equities ltd. Went ahead and gave all details. She then had second thoughts, and called me. After a minute of auto message, phone was answered by Lorraine. She gave me the company name, and address. Told me it was all about mis-sold ppi  etc. Not convinced, have informed wife to contact bank but expect it is too late.

Dont get caught out

Just had a call from them to say they're Greenacre Equities and that I may be eligible for a claim or something on mortgage protection insurance. I doubt this was possible anyway since I have just moved into a new home and only on my 3rd mortgage payment in my lifetime so far! I asked who it was they were after to which a bloke replied "Look you could be claiming some money off your mortgage protection, love". I said "I don't think so" and he just accepted it and hung up.

Is there a way of tracking down how your personal details are sold? I'm usually cautious with these things.

I missed a call from 01253757064. I called the number later, a lady who called herself Lorraine Mcbroom from GREENACRES EQUITIES said the call was made in order for me to be able to reclaim overpayment that I have been making on my insurance for the past 12 years. She then demanded for my full name, address and later card number which I didnt give. At this point I was a bit suspicious and I asked to know about her and her company. I then told her to call me back in order to find out about the company on the internet, but she was very pushy. She was however told to call me back as I needed to attend a meeting. She then agreed to call me back the next day. These people are criminals and fraudsters. Beware. Thank God for Internet!

I just had a phone call from this number again saying they were green acres equities. I told them i thought they had the wrong number and when they said no it was correct i asked them for my name. That got them although she still pushed it and went on to ask whether i had a mortgage or credit card etc etc where i have paid protection insurance. I said no she then asked me if i was under 18 again i just said no. she then hung up!! dont tell them anything it is a con!

i had a call from this number (greenacre) and was asked if i have ever taken out any payment protection insurance on any loan,creditcards,mortgage or car finance,as i may be eligable for a refund! i was abit suspicous at first as 2 where they had got my number from but somehow manged 2 get my card details of me and debited £59:99 from my account, however i have looked into this and was suprisingley amased to how this much is true and am entitled to my money back from my ppi provider!! HURRY UP AND GET YOUR CLAIMS IN!!!!!!
