These people called me in the same way as you others.
I reported them to Blackpool trading standards and they are at this moment being investigated.
The Ministry of Justice are also on their case.
They are breaking the law by "cold calling" and taking money upfront(at least two counts).

Don't have anything to do with these scamsters, you may well be entitled to money back as I am, but don't pay for it!!!!

I too have received a call from this number- It showed up as a missed call, not recognising it I googled it and came across this forum. Registering your phone, both landline & mobile with the Telephone Preference Service eliminates the vast majority of this sort of thing from happening. do not give any details. it is a scam. it also sounds like a genuine call centre. I asked to speak to a manager as I was suspicious. Just goes to show, even the street wise can be fleeced. NEVER give any details to people who phone you.

got a phone call from this company calling themselves greenacre equities ltd. informed me that they could help me claim insurance  paid on all credit cards over 12 years.  They asked for my name, address and the long number on my credit card. When I refused,  the gentleman informed me that they are working on behalf of the government and that they are aligned to companies house, even gave me their registration number. I now believe they are a scum and I think I will be reporting them to the police.

Had a call on my mobile from this number today. When I answered line went dead. Didn't recognise number so "googled" the number and found this site.

Same here.. Called about 5 mins ago... went dead.

Asked for Card Details and said I was due back money via Loan Protection Plan did not know any of my details ( Bank , Full Name ,Address ) Just a scam beware

This company Greenacres are like a dog with a bone. We had that cold call from a lady calling herslef Lisa. My wife somewhat niavely gave her details and then rang me, I immediately got her to ring her bank and stop the card from being debited, we were told by the bank that the money had not been taken, phwee... we thought! I immediately rang the company on this number and eventually got through to the company and spoke to a man calling himself James. I explained that we were not interested and had stopped the card, he did explain what the company did,and said he would cancel our casefile but I feel they are more interested in getting your £59 card payment in, and nothing else. Well next day a package came by recorded delivery which we refused and I again rang and said we have stopped payment and will be contacting trading standards. He said we will not hear anymore from them. This was last week. Today we have received another pack through. I rang and spoke to a lady calling herself Roxy, who was less than interested and said she would stop the post coming through to our postcode, but neglected to take out "customer ID number" until I told her, so do I think it will stop??? Oh and I did mention she should check the internet with these numbers also 01253 749233 (which is another of their numbers) and she said they have and they think its hillarious!!!!! REAL GREAT ATTITUDE !!! When I explained we had this card payment stopped, she thought it was funny and said you cant the money is taken immediately on the phone, My wife is now ringing her bank and seeing if it did go, especially after we were told it had not!... More worry we didnt need... Thanks Greenacres, and by the way this years accounts are late being returned to Companies House!!!!

just returned a call from James who said he was working for Greenacres - an authorised legal firm in Lancashire. He was trying to give me refunds on PPI policies. He said that the documents were in the post and could he take some details to speed the process along. I refused and he hung up. I have never had any PPI policies!!!

Mmmmm, seems like they are busy, I have just reported them to Consumer Direct, Blackpool Trading Standards, Ministry of Justice and would advise you all to check: claimsregulation.gov.uk also report them, the more that do the more that will be done about them.... Same as before usual got caught never give my card details just my name an addy... Found out £59.99 was taken out of my account .. phone the bank to tell them that i have not authorised any payment...They said they would investigate this...can anyone tell me How to get the money back an who to contact to stop this to other people....

Returned call to the above number, after waiting for a while, a women ask me about payment protection i had 12 years ago, when i ask for details and how the get my mobile number the just slammed the phone down. I want something done about those people.

Just had a call from this no and it went dead when answered. I would never give any details to anyone on the phone, I dont even talk to my bank if they call me as I work on the premise that if anyone got my details they could allege to be from any institution and claim to be calling me about my accounts. this obviously drives my bank and any other legitimate companies a bit mad but hey....i dont believe anyone and what they say, I just make them prove it and normally they cant!!!

i just got a phone call now asking about my details and they would refund any PPI i have taken out in the last 12 years.  they asked for my card details and i refused. I am not sure what we are dealing with here.  Greean Acres seem to be registered with Claims Regulation, but i am not sure who claims regulation are although they have .gov on their web address.

So be-aware, if anything sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.

Told me i had money i was entitled to from payment protection plan. have a payment protection plan for my rented property being a landlord i informed them that i had no need for it right now and they hung up. check numeber out on net a discover they are scam artists.

Had two calls from them today. I missed both calls and when I called the number back, they told me that the call was about a refund on my insurance. Now as I hadn't given them my name when they said this, I would think that we can assume that they are committing fraud. Please don't give them your details or any money - you really will regret it and it will take you forever to clear up the mess they make to your account when you have to sort it all out.

If you have a t-mobile phone, it may well be that they have your number following the recent "selling on mobile numbers" issue. I assume that is how they have my number
