Text received this morning: "Could Mr (not even my name) please contact CARS on 01256 306797 Quoting Ref No xxxxxxx Thank you"

Blocked and moved on.

I got a text from this number asking me to call them at my cost and no name was with this number so who do these people think they are.

Keep getting msg to call urgently CARS don't know who they are

just researched and found it fake... If anyone get anything like this.. please ignore....

Just received a text from cars, no name attached but asked me to call urgently, so I did. Would not confirm my address or email so I was advised to reply to the email and letter I get in the post, I have no debts and am still awaiting a so called email. Thanks for the heads up 😊

Thanks for your post Leah, very useful. I've also received a text message from CARS requesting that I urgently contact them quoting ref: etc etc. There was no contact name mentioned but the same 01256 number was mentioned.

I also have no outstanding debt so this again just some attempt to elicit money from me where none is due. Glad I found this information. I will be deleting and duly ignoring this text. Thanks again.

Ha da text message for  a 'Mrs. G******* I********' to urgently contact them quoting a reference number. 1) I am male. 2) I am not of African descent (the surname most DEFINITELY is. 3) I do not have debt. 4) My number is unlisted. Filing a complaint with both OFCOM and the FCA against these fraudsters with no further action or reference to 'C.A.R.S.'

They sent me a message with reference number being suspicious I rang them back requesting who they were and what they were about,couldn't give me no info until I gave them my full details so I refused any details until they disclosed who and what they wanted no information came off them so I told them goodbye

Random text saying call quoting reference number.  Not part of a gym and owe no one money, only thing I've cancelled is 3 mobile internet.

I've received two texts messages stating the same as everyone else and a letter in the post. I have not phoned this company and do not intend to. I never confirm my details over the phone unless I know a certain company are phoing me. There are so many frauds out there. Is CARS a real company or are they definitely fraudulent?

I received a text from C.A.R.S. Asking me to contact them.
Who are they?  It seems like a scam
I googled the company name and it seems they're a debt collection company
I'm dubious!!

Hi i was contacted buy these people less than 5 mins ago i was confused and googled the number and stumbled upon you

I keep getting calls from this number and they will not stop even after contacting them

Recieved a text from c.a.r.s. no idea who they are and no contact name

I also have had a number of text messages on my mobile phone as well as emails on my PC.
Glad I didn't ring the number being given in the messages.
Cyber Crime has no threshold limits.
