Dont call back if you have a missed call, and if they call your landline be VERY AGGRESSIVE and slam the phone down every time, it works! they havent called me again for weeks now but you have to be firm , swear a little but DO NOT enter into ANY form of conversation, this is what they want and what they are good at!

For a minute I thought I had forgotten to pay a bill as I had moved recently.  So, when they asked for my details without telling me who they were first, I got very edgy about it.  I terminated the call without passing any info over.   Thank god I read these posts as I was right to think something wasn't quite right.

Called me 19 May.  As it was a standard number I called back (they hung up on me as soon as I said I had no car loans) and they assured me they had removed my number from their database.  I wasn't charged for the call (I was on a PAYG mobile).

We shall see.... :-)

google says from Alloa on std code?

Call from this number (area code is Alloa region) claiming to be Consumer Credit Agency. Obviously weren't. Asked me if I'd been miss-sold Payment Protection Insurance over the last 10 years - this was the day after the news had been filled with stories about serious issues related to PPIs so obviously a con - next questions related to my banking information. Didn't offer any info and hung up.

Got called from this number today, answered the call and there was a momentary pause, then some bloke spoke to say he was from consumer credit services and the call got disconnected.  Tried to phone it back with 141 infront but just rang out.

i also had 3 missed calls from this number! i phoned back and got hung up on. i then called back again and just let the phone ring and ring until they answered it as i wanted to know who it was. when answered there was wierd background noises for a couple of seconds i then said i wasnt happy with them calling me etc so she hung up. just before i looked this up i had a guy calll me from this number. i answered and stated i had already had people calling me from this number and ask what did he want? he replied quit cheekily "well its not me personally thats called you?" i told them i didnt need help with anything and asked where they got my number he said a 3rd party source. when asked who this source was he hung up. if they call again i will be reporting them!!!

Got phone calls twice today-answered second time-said hallo several times n after total silence hung up. R they crackers,who r trying to break the system or just thiefs or sales people?

I miss a call from the same number and at first it wasnt letting me call but then i tried again and this man answered saying he was from this company called CCF i freaked and just put the phone down before they could say anything else to me :S

I keep getting calls from this number but when I answer it's silent. I've been very careful getting calls like that as my father told me some time ago if you call them back they could well be charging you an extortionate amount for the call, so I left it. They just called again which reminded me to look it up, and I see all this! Good job I listened to my dad! They are such pests.

Two missed calls from this number. I answered neither and will not be calling back.

I've just had a call from this number.  I don't like answering calls from numbers I don't recognise!  I googled the number and thankfully read all these messages.  Thanks for logging these - very helpful.

hoak sales, please ignore and block this number

My friend just recieved a phone call today (20th May) and asked me to check out if I can find where the calls was made from. Thanks for all you who have posted here, I'll tell my friend to ignore the calls now. Can't believe these kinds of [***] actually succeed in doing this for so long

Have had 2 missed calls from this number in the last few days.

Strangely my smart phone shows me the "label" of the number as 01259300001, but then shows the raw number they called from as +84 53512259.

This suggests to me that they may well be operating from outside the UK, +84 is the calling code for Vietnam!!  

So take even more care when speaking with them, as it's not likely to even be the usual outsourced Indian call centre!

Also received call on Work Phone today (10:39 21sy May 2010).
