I have just received a call from them and missed it.  I checked the number in google as it looked a very convenient, easy to remember number that might be suitable for a business.  I am so glad that I saw this site before I rang them back.  I will not be doing so now.

Had a call this evening, didn't get to the phone on time, having read these comments, will not answer if they call again.
But, what I want to know is where did they get my number from?

Got another call from this number. Didn't answer my phone. Bloody annoying! Not only do they call my mobile, they call my work number too!!! They need to be reported for causing inconvenience and constantly tying up peoples phone lines. How do they obtain the telephone numbers in the first place?

cold calling is illegal, calling and then hanging up without speaking is illegal, calling numbers that are on the TPS is discouraged and can be complained about.

Also, I believe they got my number from Phones 4 U. anyone else used them shortly before getting these calls?

same thing, just had a missed call - tried to ring it back and got an automated message saying "trying to connect you" - waste of time, dont bother answering the call or ringing it back !

Answered a call from this number, when I said hello nobody answered then the line went dead.

Exactly the same. Got a call from this number just now. Answered it and line was empty. Hung up and googled it.

Had a missed call from the number everyone here is talking about so I definately won't be wasting my time in ringing them back how they got my number I don't know but they can [***] right off!!

Obviously a call centre which would explain the background noise. Mines a works mobile so, I would expect that it's a random number generator until someone picks up.

If its a crap/spam call, answer it and say "My other half is very interested, hang on whilst I get him/her" , put the phone near the telly and take the dog for a walk.

I had a call from this number aswell when i answerd the call i got no responce so the next day i rung back and was getting no answer at all

Just answered a call from them.  Don't normally answer calls from unfamiliar numbers but I am expecting a call.  Anyway, the guy, who sounded half asleep, asked me If I had heard about the mis- selling of payment protection plans.  I said "Yes, but don't want anything from you" and hung up.  Hopefully, that'll be the last I hear from them.

Literally just had the call, they said something about consumer credit as well and cos i couldnt here i said ive just had a missed call from you and they hung up?! now wont answer and reject the calls, Weird. They are now on reject list :) does anyone know who it actually is?

I had a missed call from this number.   Didn't ring it back as STD code is for Alloa & I don't know anyone there. Googled it instead and got this site. Have no intention ringing it back. I suspect the number was provided to the caller by the mobile company, as I never give my phone number to anyone other than friends.

Called at 9pm on a Friday evening, called themselves 'Consumer Line Direct', sounded like they were calling from a pub it was so noisy in the background? Typical call center rubbish..........
