Had them a few times- told them we're on TPS but still they call.  The latest one (about home insurance apparently) spoke so fast I couldn't understand the company name and they didn't want to repeat it but went on to tell me that the Telephone Preference Service had probably sold my details on!!  When told that wasn't likely they said that they knew exactly what the TPS was and promptly hung up!!  Have now put in a complaint with the TPS

Phone rang @17.02  tonight ,we guessed it was some telemarketing scam so let it go to answerphone,our line is still blocked @17.25.All we had was voice saying please hold the line and one of our representatives will be with you shortly,they wernt and our line was blocked.We are supposed to be on the B.T.Preference service,but this rubbish still got Through.

Woman from a company called coverplus trying to get me to talk about house insurance renewals. Despite me telling her it had been renewed months ago and that I had no interest in any other insurance she still pushed to try to get me to say who I was insured with and wanted to talk it over with the wife. I told her we werent interested and to not bother calling back.
Wonder what time she will ring tomorrow!

They just called me and I got the same result as everyone else. If you look back at Page 1 of this thread there's a phone number for Redress Claims who promise to get it sorted.
16 pages (and 8 months) later it still going on though, so don't hold your breath. I haven't called them yet as this is the first call I've had, but if it continues I will !

Have been getting calls from them for ages, and it's p*ssing me off.  Already registered with TPS (have been for several years) and they will call at random times, and leave silent messages on the answering machine.  My AM message clearly states that unrecognised numbers will NEVER be answered or returned, yet they still try.  And this all came from looking into one of the big PPI claims companies, then knocking them back and sorting it myself.

The people say their records show my home insurance is due for renewal and they can sell me cheaper insurance, including ppi. They ring every day, all day. They call themselves home plan, but change their name.

This number keeps ringing,normally numbersI dont know I let ring,but picked this one up thinking it was a call from someone who I had just been talking to.This person(Womans voice) asked for Mr/Mrs.........(our surname) then asked how much I pay for house insurance,told her thats my business and put phone down,this number has been coming up for weeks now.

Keep getting calls from this number been going on for months so I bought some Panasonic phones and blocked them.Peace at last.

I get calls from this number everyday. The staff have been racist, insulting and abusive. I have reported them but nothing happens.

I had one of this calls today I normally keep them on for as long as I can, I do not give them any worth while information you must remember the call is costing them money so great spend it for them. The calls are normally made outside the UK which gets them out of the clutches of the preference service anyway, although they do use a UK type number to insure you answer when shown on ID display. The caller is usually of Indian or Nigerian origin crap at speaking english and even worse understanding it, but find them very entertaining when I am in a wind up mode.

Got call and told an agent would call shortly - please hold. Meanwhile, music kept  playing whilst intermittant message saying thanks for your patience please hold and an agent will be with you shortly. Put phone down and attempted to dial 1471 for their phone number but still got the music playing which was a bit disconcerting. However, eventually got the above number and seems to be a Bradford number. Is this a genuine call or a scam?

This is a computer generated call which is kept live until one of the telemarket morons  answer it, This is illegal but do not waste your time reporting it as nothing can be done, the preference service in real time are completly powerless. The downer is it is inconvient to you the upside is it is costing them money oh! dear what a terrible shame to the telemarketeer. The call is a scam but the way they look at it is there is always some mug to be had.

There are still at it.  Just called now.  Probably nothing we can do but you can spend their money if you want to do so.  Just keep them talking for as long as possible without saying anythng significant.

Just got called by this number and it went straight to hold music. I hung up and the line was then blocked by them for about 10 minutes. Luckily I don't use my landline much otherwise I would've been completely screwed. What if I didn't have a mobile and had to make an emergency call?

These people need stopping and prosecuting. Can't BT do something?
