I received a phone call 6 weeks ago asking me to advertise myself on one of their web-sites. After agreeing to pay a set amount over 15 months i was put through to their accounts department where my call was recorded. Subsequently i received 2 further calls where they offered me at reduced rates for the advertisement-both times again being put through to their accounts dept so that the calls could be recorded. it was only when checking my credit card bill that i discovered over £1,000 had been taken out in 5 seperate payments which i had NOT agreed to.  When approaching them about this i was sent telephone recordings which they say proves that i agreed to these amounts-but i didn`t. Beware of speaking to any cold callers like this.

I received a call from this company a couple of days ago promising all sorts of interest in my business once I had placed an advert on their website.  I told them that I was not preprared to place any details until I had viewed their website and details.  At the time they promised to e-mail a link and phone me within ten minutes so that I could look. This did not happen in the time scale.  My wife did take a call from them later in the day and they said that they would call back the next day.  The next day was today and they are now chasing me for money as my ad is now live on their website.  They say that they have recorded phone calls to protect me (of course) but if I don't pay they will send the bill to debt collectors.  I never agreed to any ad before seeing the website.  I wanted to see how user friendly it was and what area it would cover.  To say that the website was easy to get into was rubbish.  I had all sorts of trouble getting into it. When I spoke to them earlier I told them that I had reconsidered and would not be advertising. Not happy at all with site, very heavy-handad tactics.

Missed call from these guys today, no voicemail left but glad i checked the number on here.
Seems they are still active!

These guys are complete rip off merchants and the more people that read these pages to stop themselves form being conned or insulted down the phone the better.

They are the nasty side of advertising and the soon Google remove their presence from the search index the better.

Do not give your personal information out to these rude and obnoxious people as you will find you are plagued by cold calls and the like.

Agreed to a 6 month trial at £175. Then found an admin charge and one off fee of £65 all plus vat ! Was told I should have read the T's and Cs regarding the additional charges. Then discovered that if you don't give them 60 days cancellation notice you are tied in with them at a charge they then set themselves. Can be thousands.  This is despite the fact that I was giving them a six months trial . Thankfully the cancellation clause was brought to my attention before 60 days.
Also no work generated for us by this business, very poor indeed. Stay well away totally useless and con artists.

Don't ever set up a direct debit with these Bandits, I have been with them for 6 months , not a job. Then the rang me with the auto renewal rubbish, telling me I owed the £10,400 for all the areas which is rubbish, the phone call bordered on bullying on the phone, I kept the guy on the phone repeating the terms, he then said if the order was not set up that day they would  set it up and take the money from my card. I got my wife to cancel my debit card while I was still on the phone to these losers.
I e-mailed there customer services the next day and complained, they said they would sort it out and the sales guy in question would be talked to ,ha ha what a lot of jokers.  I will not be renewing there services.

I am sure this must be the same lot that used to run 118trades another lot of Robbers from Essex.

Have an ad with Trustatrader and they emailed all their customers recently warning them about Ufindalocal being a con company .(that's how I found out about the 60 day cancellation clause)!

they are a con they tried to get me to pay them £8000 this is a total scam i have been on there sit and i have called over 80 adds on there site and only found 3 that know of them they steal adds off other sits put them on there's so when they get you to have a look at it so it looks like a very good site IT IS A CON DO NOT HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH THEM  and i am very happy if any one would like to call me on 07771572857 so i can tell you about them

Just had a call from ufindalocal.. certainly very pushy, having seen all the reviews and comments on there I am definitely not keen on setting up for the year (£365) apparently for 5 areas... seems dodgy and luckily I have not fallen for it ... although he's trying to call back in an hour to win me over.  Will refuse the call!

Has anyone had to pay any large amounts of money to them or had court letters , what's the other company as well dot box I think it is. ?

I'd really like some advice from others suffering from this scam. Had exactly the same experience today, with them trying to bully me into a £3000+ payment! when I originally thought I had signed up for £240 for three months advertising. This has yielded zero response to my business. I was told I could not cancel. I am standing my ground and contacting the CAB and other legal advice. If I don't pay they have threatened to send me a bill for the "full" £7000. This is more than I earn in a year - it is outrageous. I wish I had researched them before signing up. I've blocked them from taking any more money from me. What have they done to others who refused payment?

I have had exactly the same this week, I have been told that it has auto renewed at a cost of £13500 but if I agree now they will discount it to £5000 to £6000.  I too am standing my ground and not paying - I am seeing a solicitor tomorrow so should have more info.  Will also be contacting trading standards - have you had any response from CAB? I have had exactly the same problem.  Now going in bankruptcy because of them.

Ufind a local are terrible, unethical, deceitful, aggressive and incredibly sophisticated company. I urge anyone reading this not to entertain a phone call from them. And warn any business owners, sole traders you know to hang up immediately when they introduce them selves. I took a package a while back. I have not received on call for potential work since. They tried to make me upgrade a couple of days later. I declined. The sales man was incredibly aggressive with his sales tactics and could not take no for an answer. I got another call from them 2 & a half months after. They are now demanding I pay £6000.00!!!! within 7 days or else. They are demanding I pay for a new contract 9 months before renewal. Again incredibly aggressive. And they did not even know when I was due for renewal.
DO NOT TAKE THEIR CALL.
