- SuziCalled them straight back and they verified my online transaction, a relief and comfort after my friend's Barclaycard has just been done for £1000.

- JohnHad several call today from this number, rang it back and it is egg security, apparently the system pulled up my details for a randem security check, good job I rang back, my card had been stopped pending the security check. Nice one egg.
- Caller: Egg Credit Card Security
- T RawlinsYes its Egg Card and they just check that the card transactions are genuine.
Bizarre phone system but pleased they are on the case protecting my money!- Caller: EGG SECURITY
- Boyce PaulThey called me 4 times today. I do have an egg card. But i dont know whats the point of not talking. I hate this automated callers. I think it should be banned by the government. Such an irresponsible behaviour for these greedy corporates.
- DeanSave me from fraud when my card was cloned. Fraudsters only managed to get away with £16 before card was automatically bared by Egg.
- Steve BowdenMessage from Egg, they have called 4 times today (19 Jan 09). I dont bank with Egg or use any of their cards. Leave me alone!
- Caller: Egg
- richard BlockSupposedly from Egg, started asking personal questions so I put the phone down.
- Caller: dont know
- KatyfoxThe number quoted is Egg Card Security! They call if they've spotted what could be a fake/fraudulent transaction on your card. This has just happened to me - I called them back. Quite rightly for their sake (and yours) until you call back they will put a stop on your card. I'm very glad they did!
- TracyIf this is about fraud, why is a human not on the other end of the phone? How easy is it to fake something like this?! Whilst I agree that it's good to check every so often, it would be better done by a person who could be grilled about where they're calling from.

I have made a COMPLAINT to 'EGG' (.... if it was really them?)- Caller: EGG
- Jonathan StreetI received multiple calls from this number on 02-Dec-09. I just ignored it and they stopped ringing.
They rang again today, 02-Mar-09, several times. I was never able to pick up in time. On the fourth attempt they left a voicemail message stating the calls were in relation to some suspicious activity on my card. I went to their website and contacted them on the number listed there. They confirmed that the calls had originated from them and everything was resolved.
My advice: They stated they had put a stop on the card (not sure that's the right term) so if this is the only card you have probably best to contact egg. If you have a second card with a different provider save yourself the hassle and wait until you're next out shopping to find out whether it was serious or not.- Caller: Egg
- ToadThis is legit. I called Egg back on the phone number printed on my Egg card and they confirmed this was a routine check on some recent spending.
Good to see some banks are on the ball. - ToonarchitectGiving security info over the phone to an apparently "cold call" is potential madness. As it happens, it is a legitimate service but surely if Egg are so upto speed with security matters, they should see the major flaw in this automated service. Mobile numbers & names can be given over to general internet sites. Who is to say that the "egg phonecall" is actually from them. I am not giving my security info out to anyone who calls themselved "egg".

- OllyI answered a call from this number this morning. It was an automated security call from Egg, which cut me off. I'd spent £400 on a bed yesterday so I assumed it was because of that, so I looked up the number on the Egg website to confirm that it was genuine, which it was (http://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_64444--View_1270,00.html), and when I called it back they did indeed just want to check that I'd authorised the transaction.
So the automated system may be flaky, but it's worth calling it back because it's Egg's security service.- Caller: Egg
- jalousieAlso had loads of missed calls while unable to answer day & night, then finally answered it today at work & it said it was Egg & to press any key, which i did not!
It's my husband who has an Egg card not me, so how did they get MY mobile number??- Caller: EGG
- Mike4 calls in 2 days saying an important call from egg press any key to continue. I have reported this to Egg, I will not press the key as I think that if I do I will be contacting a premium number BE WARNED
- PeteJust had call from 01332633863, didn't answer, googled the number and found this thread so called them back Egg security check as there had been unusual activity on my card. All was OK, just that there were three concurrent transactions with new payees, so Egg had put a temporary block on my card until I could verify that all applications for payment were valid. I'm sure Egg are protecting their own interests in this, but I find it reassuring that transactions are monitored - #I've no complaint and give Egg credit for being on the ball, even if it means an occasional false alarm

- MalcPurchased car insurence today from more than for £370, 15 seconds later phone went. Second time this has happened to me. Last time I ignored each call and was left 5 short "Press 1 to continue" messages before finally contacting Egg directly.
