Called this number back, and the recorded message says it's the Energy Research Group, and that they'll call back.  Likely to be selling something, but don't know what it is.

Got a phone call from this number. No one on other end of phone. Rang it back says you missed call from National Energyb Research Group

Received a call from this number today. Did not ring back having seen some comments here. Energy Research usually means they'll be trying to flog you solar panels.

Just had a phone call from this number at 12.45 AM !!!!
The phone rang 4 times and rang off before I answered.
Normally I wouldn't answer it as I have had a lot of nuisance calls lately, however I thought at that time it must be a family emergency!
Can you imagine how someone elderly or parents with teenagers out somone with a poorly relative or friend would have panicked at the phone ringing in the early hours?
Totally irresponsible and inexcusable from whoever it was.

Rang at gone midnight,  1471 informed me at there was a charge to ring this number back

Yes, they're the ones -- cold-called me at about 1815 this afternoon, first guy says they are National Energy Research Group, when i question his right to call me because i', registered with the Telephone Preference Service, he calls his manager, who says he's from One Solar. He said they buy their calling lists from somewhere else and the numbers are supposed to have been TPS-screened. When i said it was illegal for them to cold-call me he said he would take my number off their list, but couldn't or wouldn't give me the number of the people they got their lists from so i could call them and get them to remove me too.

They just called me and left a message it was some pig of a guy burping!!!!!

Called me and hung up like all others.  Was about to call back, when my other half suggested I google the no.

Also had one earlier, which i rang back and got a recorded message, saying it was orange and would call me back some other time.... That no was 01482489776

Unsolicited calls from these lying pigs who state they are National Energy Research Group. Never anyone there- call back to leave a complaint and, surprise surprise, their mailbox is full.

What point is Telephone Preference Service when these scams still operate and make a thorough nuisance of themselves?

Had a call from the National Energy Research Group on EASTER SUNDAY, despite being registered with the TPS. Absolutely disgraceful!

There is indeed an additional charge to call the number back using the 1471 system.   That applies to any calls made by calling back on the 1471 system.

However, if you dial the call yourself your normal call rates will apply.

5 calls in the last six hours. Last one told me to "pick up the phone, mate". West of Scotland accent. Telephone sales at its very worst.

Very persistant....5 calls went to ansa machine...last one was aggressive in attitude. I called this company back after a similar incident last month. Spoke to a team manager who was less than interested, at best. Just ignore them...their phone bills will eventually drive them to bankruptcy...hopefully.

Got a call from this number on my answer machine.  No message left, found number from 1471, didn't recognise it as any of my family members.  I won't bother calling back thanks to the messages here.  I'm supposed to be Telephone Preference Service supplied as well.  If I get a call at stupid o'clock in the morning they will certainly receive a few choice words!

Registering with TPS only works with reputable companies.  The rogues will ignore it.  If you get a sales call from a company then complain to TPS at mpsonline.  It's simple enough.  If people don't report these calls then TPS doesn't know about them.  If people do report them then TPS can take action.  If they get enough complaints then they will involve OFCOM and action will be tsaken.

I have had 8 missed calls from this number between 9am and 11am, no message left. They have also called in the evening trading as some type of goverment based solar company, I told them last week i was not interested though the calls keep comming at a crazy nothing else to do rate. I must have had 20+ calls over the last week!!!!!!

Again today a phone call from an energy company no doubt to tell me how much money they can save me, possibly if I buy their solar panels.  I am fed up with all these calls and told the young man that, very politely and asked him not to call back.
