roy from hannay associates, trying to claim our school had booked advertising space in an emergency services magazine!! this is not the case, very unprofessional, tried to trick us.

Hannay Associates are a fraud, who claim to publish magazines in support of the emergency services which then aren't printed. Their sales operators are rude, arrogant and will do anything to close a deal on an unsuspecting client - even lying about who booked it, and when.

I also received a call from this number claiming that our school had booked advertising space in their 'To the Rescue' Magazine.  This is untrue.  Please be aware of this firm.

This is very strange. I am the Director of Hannay Associates and Mr.Mulley is an existing customer of ours. I have contacted Mr Mulley and he knows nothing of this post. I would like to ask why you are impersonating Mr Mulley??

They contacted my company claiming we had booked advertising and sent me a mock up artwork which was images and text taken directly from our website.  They could not provide evidence of our advertising booking and couldn't get me off the phone quick enough. This is a complete fraud.

I've just had a telephone call from someone saying they were from a company called Hannay. They claimed that I had agreed to advertise with them and they wanted their money now. I do all the advertising agreements and I didn’t do this one. We have lots of calls like this from lots of different companies, or maybe it is the same people? Always question it, ask for details. The reply number that they gave me was 01516484217

I also received a fraudulent call from Hannay Associates today, from a lady posing as a Clare Davis and using the telephone number 0151 650 5650.

US TOO Trying to scam this company since 2007 - have been reported numerous times and had the audacity to try it on again today - by Clare Davis DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS

Today this "Company" phoned regarding an order for a quarter page advert which I had placed in a magazine they publish. I knew something was up when they were not on our database, & the fact they claimed that I had placed the order. (not my department.)

Anyway, after questioning it, Steven Russell phoned back and claimed that there had been a "misunderstanding" and said he will take us off his database. I was rendered immobile as the sheer force of his idiocy hit me in the face like a ton of STUPID.. He had gone from claiming we had placed an order to saying he thought we "may had been interested" in the space of minutes.

After a few minutes of browsing the web, I realise that this company (and many like it) have caught a few people out. Unfortunately for Mr Russell, I recorded all telephone conversations & will be speaking to the correct authorities. In the meantime, I shall be using my Twitter account to let all 341000+ of my followers know about this joke company.

I have no doubts that he will phone back under a different company name though, as that is one of the tricks that leeches like this company use.

i just had a call from one of your staff saying that they are from the police and thanking me for a support. i only advertise with one company and know who they are your representative said that this is for the police fire and ambulance and i have agreed a full page advert

i would like to konw why are you saying that i have already spoken to him when i know quite well that i have not

and why is he saying he is the emeregency services i would like to hear your reply.

Called today by Mr Roberts, asked his first name which was David. again said we had verbally confirmed advertising space in Rescue magazine, which we hadn't. Will not be returning the call as i know we have not entered in to any agreement.

Perhaps you would  like to telephone the office with your queries? And providing me with your name would be an idea.

This company called me on the back of an advert I'd run in a police publication, and I assumed they were talking about that advert, as they were acting on behalf of the Emergency Services. I then receive an invoice for a 1/8 page advert, which was sent out with some artwork on 12th Dec. I tried to ring them when I received the info and got a message saying the offices are closed for Christmas. They have a taped conversation of me sounding confused about the whole thing and I respond by saying OK. I didn't think a conversation could be taped unless you are told beforehand?

They tricked me and I have to pay for an advert I didn't order. “Beware this company”

Just been called by 'Linda' from Hannay Associates. Sad to say that I did pay for one advert in the Emergency Services magazine about 18 months ago as their initial approach seemed genuine. They did send me two printed copies of the magazine, but it turned out to be a county publication rather than national and I am far from convined that they distributed it to anyone, as I had no responses.

However, they then hounded me by phone saying I had booked a series of 3 adverts, which I had not. I refused to pay them for anything over the one agreed advert and told them frankly that I had not agreed to anything further and wished to be removed from their database.

Linda has just called me again (18 months later) and said they received my request to be removed from their list and will do so once the current advertising campaign is complete!

Please avoid this company.

Hanay are a fraud just like a lot of other companies out there. i received a call from them the other day saying we had booked an advert and we did not. I handle all our advertising and go through a PR company and would never deal direct with a small publishing company like these.

Spencer Farley are another company that always ring, and it think it is Hanay associates under a different name. Stay away!

Hannay Associates are a Company who imply they publish media in support of Charitable causes, specifically the Emergency Services. In reality, they use the Emergency Services as a platform to raise revenue for publications that do not get published and no revenue is ever forwarded to any Charities or worthy causes.

They use assumptive sales methods to imply that media has been committed to and use passive aggression to demand payment.

Steven Russell is a crook operating a business on the fringes of the law and has been investigated many times by the Police and Trading Standards.

Do NOT PAY any invoices sent to you by his business, even if you receive final demands or threats of legal action. I was tricked, as was one of my staff - the invoices were NOT paid and legal action did NOT follow. It's not in his interest to highlight his activity to any legal body.

How the man has the audacity to challenge his accusers on this forum is beyond me. His feigned  injured innocence is quite frankly worthy of a Greek Tragedy. His registered offices are a small private residential premises in Pensby. His capital asset value is declared as £500.

This is fraud and obtaining monies by deception.
