Cold called by a firm (we now know to be Jackson Francis working on behalf of James Hadley), in Feb 2014 an employee of theirs (Craig) visited us promoting the Trafalgar QROPs scheme (even though we are permanently resident in UK), we didn't have a financial adviser so Craig said he could pass hubby's pension information
to an independent financial adviser to review whether the plan as suitable. The letter we got back who signed a letter in May 2014 was signed by James Hadley (claimed to be an independent financial adviser) and advised that the plan was sound and a good investment so we went ahead not realising that James Hadley (previously involved in Capita Oak scandal) was actually running the fund which was suspended in November 2014 and wound up & put in administration late 2015/early 2016 still no return of his pension
