The only realistic chance of getting any money back is if you were advised to invest by an FCA-regulated adviser. Some Claims Management Companies are trying the argument that the SIPP trustees are liable but - despite the claims of some CMCs - that is a very long shot and it has already been repeatedly rejected by the Ombudsman.

Anyone who asks you for payment to help recover your money, any amount for any reason, is scamming you. Any legitimate CMC will act on a no-win-no-fee basis, and there is no need to use a CMC at all.

I think you are wrong there Cribbage Tom, as I have seen at least 2 cases where the FOS have made an initial decision against the SIPP provider. Yes w have to wait for a final decision but it is hopeful.
