- Caller: 01592642600
- bingoScottish guy called me today asking if I was the homeowner to see if I qualified for some voucher. I asked where he got my number from and then he put the phone down.
- steveAnother 01592642600 call. Why cant BT stop these calls - especially when we have signed up with BT's no cold calling system?
- Caller: Harvey & Grant
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mrs Moranthis number has just called,my son answered and they asked are you Mrs Moran (lol)he said no her son and hey hung up.....these callers drive me crazy..surely something can be done to make it illegal or something..grrr

- Jimbobexactly the same as everyone else. Answered call, male voice asked if I was Mrs x (strange because I am male!), said I was Mr x, he hung up!! Annoying...
- Caller: Didmn't identify
- John MurrayAsked is that Mr Murray then hung up.
- Sgeir replies to MaggieCall claimed to be from Harvey and Grant, a "promotional" company.... Showed up on 1471 as 01592 642600. The guy, well spoken, Scottish, dropped off when I mentioned the TPS.
On calling the number, it rang out several times before a recorded message, apparently from TalkTalk, implied that the number was no longer in use. I really wouldn't believe anything about them. - LesAnswered the phone to hear someone sayhello, start laughing, then hang up. Got the number from 1471 but when called just a strangetone can be heard
- nuisance caller| 1 replyTo all those people who complain about these nuisance calls, all the people who make these phone calls are simply trying to earn a living while they are at college or university to get better jobs, everybody complains about people paying taxes and it being spent on benefits, would you really complain to a 3minute phonecall and have people earning a living contributing to the country which is in financial crisis. Yes these calls are annoying but think how the people making the phonecalls feel, getting abuse hurtled at them for hours on end. We try and be as polite as possible (they are some exceptions) but I would much rather speak to 300 people a day and hear them say no thanks rather than getting abuse. I think.some of the people on this site have nothing better to do than have a good moan about anything. Next time someone like us answers the phone think how you would feel being in our position and just say no thanks if you aren't interested.
- Bob replies to nuisance callerYes, I love being woken up by these calls when I have been working a nightshift. There IS a legitimate reason why some of us register with TPS.
- nuisance caller| 1 replyI am in no way selfish yes if you are on TPS we should never ring you, but when we find out use are we take you off straight away and stay very polite and apologize. This is to me ridiculous that grown adults find it ok to be abusive towards teenagers and think that it is totally acceptable. Honestly how fare you say I'm an idiot I have my views you have yours but don't call me an idiot because you don't care or believe in my views.
- FedupNumber keeps coming up from prank calls. When answered, can hear background noise before caller hangs up. Sometimes mixed in with calls from unavailable number (within seconds of) so suspect source of call is the same.
- Call type: Prank
- JMthis was a call from a Scottish woman, asking to speak to a Mr P...(don't want to give the name) saying she was calling from a new company, Gregg and Goodwin and that they had a special offer. at that point i interrupted her and said i wasn't interested as there was always a catch.
I'm on TPS too, but the really strange thing is that P... is my maiden name, and i changed back to it after i got divorced. there never has been a married couple with the surname P... at this address or phone number.- Call type: Telemarketer
- SOMEONE OUT THERE| 1 replyand so it goes on and on - haven't these people anything better to do then call at 8. 32 pm ??
I have a list of 82 numbers to date that keep calling me on a regular basis - what can I do to stop them - I have listed my number with TPS - I invested in a caller display phone - I am ex-directory - I have changed my number - what else can I do ??? give up my phone ? I am the age where I need a phone - I am 73 years old - my only lifeline to the outside world - and these people making my life hell - please is anyone out there that give me some sound advice - - read my last response to number 02538 020308 - placed on the 28th and 29th pages-- under my name SOMEONE OUT THERE - help - I am fed up!!!! - JMcalled back on the 0800 number and was given another number: 01236739200. gave my name and area code (enough to find me if they have a database), but not the number. couldn't get the guy in charge as he was "in a meeting", but informed the woman who answered that the person who owns my number is phone phobic and has mental health problems, therefore any further calls will be treated as disability hate crime and reported to the police. this is true, by the way - the phone is for emergency use only. we'll see.
if anyone feels the same way: http://www.disabilityhatecrime.org.uk/index.p ... lity-hate-crime
and to those trying to defend these people - the TPS is there for a reason. Going through phone-pages cold-calling people is making nuisance calls and YOU can be charged with this offence.- Caller: DM
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JM replies to nuisance callerSome of us are on TPS because it's not just an "unwanted call" or a "nuisance call". what you see as "just a job" is to me terrifying - getting repeated calls from someone i don't know can cause anxiety attacks, self-harming, sheer terror, especially as i know that now they have my number they'll go on and on and on trying to get me, until i'm able to answer to tell you that i'm on TPS, making my house hell. i'd get rid of it if i could, but health problems mean that i can't. if your TPS link isn't available, then every call you make risks breaking the law.
Are you proud of your illegal activities now? Will you come round and try to calm me down next time you "make a mistake"? will you take the knife out of my hand, clear up the blood from my cuts? Will you pay for me to change my phone number regularly so i can avoid you? - JM replies to ex employeeit IS your job to make sure what you are doing is lawful. if you know that the lists you're given haven't been checked against TPS, then you could be held liable for any injury caused as a result of your phone call.
- Patchface replies to SOMEONE OUT THERESOMEONE OUT THERE - What network are you on? I'm not sure about others but I know both BT and SKY offer last call barring services for a small charge and I'm sure others do the same. It's not perfect (doesn't block international calls unfortunately) but it does give you bit of respite from DM Design every month.
The best option (and one I am currently saving up for) is the TrueCall Blocker which forces every unknown caller to leave a message telling you who they are before your phone even rings. If you don't want to talk to them you can press a button and the machine will block them from ever getting through to you again. It is a bit pricey (£89 is the cheapest I've seen) and, really, there's no reason anybody SHOULD have to pay to not be harrassed but it is an option, especially if International calls are a problem.
Last option - and one more people should take is - how about contacting your local newspaper (or better yet a national one) and telling them about the harrassment you are receiving from DM Design? If their illegal business practices become common knowledge then they'll HAVE to change or they'll go out of business. - AmazedI just had a call from this number. I suspected it was spam to start with, but once confirmed (he claimed to have vouchers worth £834 for homeowners in our area), hung up. The guy had the gall to call back again and ask why I hung up. Asked why he was breaking the law by calling TPS-registered numbers. "Haven't you ever broken the law?" was the response!
