Do not touch this company with a barge pole. I had the misfortune to use them and there were a whole succession of problems that would take pages to explain. The salesman was a liar, there were many design faults, and it was six months before I had a working kitchen having been told they would be out in three days. In fairness, if the job had been done properly, they would have been.Three years later of very careful use, there are faults again in their "high quality" work surfaces which they want me to pay for to put right.
I've twice asked to be taken off their lists only to be called again. If it can be done badly, this company will do it badly.
I was stupid to use them ; in my self employed job , I never had to cold call people as I got so many recommendations. No one who is any good needs to cold call

Got a call from butler and Carr today when I queried where he got my number from he hung up I didn't bother after saying it was on his database

just had a call form 01592 642600 fron 'donna'- said my wife had entered a promotion on sunday - she hadn't of course... when I said she wouldn't have 'donna' slammed the phone down.

rang back and it said DM design marketing - this number does not take incoming calls -( i bet it doesn't ) however via this website I rang back on 0800185186. Very helpful lady was most apologetic and assured me she would get my number taken off their list.   thanked me for ringing them back and seemed genuine enough - who know s...
so my advice ring this number 0800185186 if you get a call from DM designs, they've already had one £90,000 fine so no doubt in another five years the chocolate teapots at the ICO will fine them again...

Butler & Carr, they asked for me by name & wanted me to answer a short survey in return for a voucher worth £1000 I then asked what the voucher was for and was told a new kitchen or bedroom and that it doesnt need to be used immediately in fact (amazingly enough) it doesnt have an expiry date on it, you can just use it whenever. I asked her to confirm it was only to be used for kitchens or bedrooms & she said yes I then explained that I have just finished a self build & only moved into my lovely new house a month ago - so a voucher would be useless. She then hung up.........

Received a call from BUTLER & CARR, who when pressed, maintain they are a 'Media Company' who would like to ask 'a couple of questions'  and have '10 vouchers to give away'.  Ordinarily I say thanks, but no thanks, however I was concerned this cold-caller knew me by name and therefore wanted to pursue my own line of questioning.

After initially asking who B&C were, I then asked how they obtained my name and number (it apparently came from a list 'they purchased'), I then asked who their client was, (they said they were just a media company).

I answered their questions: (Am I the house owner and when was my kitchen fitted) - TA DAH, a kitchen company….I was then asked how old my bedroom was…. apparently I 'didn't qualify' for the voucher, quel suprise…so I then asked the same question of how they got my name was asked again and again, alas to no avail; she hung up on me - her name was Ashley.

I rang her number - 01592 642600 (Kirkcaldy code) - recorded announcement : "you have got through to DM DESIGN MARKETING - this number does not take incoming calls - should you wish to contact us, you may do so by emailing info@dmdesign.com - thank you very much" - surprisingly similar accent to Ashley's!!!

My next call was to DM Design, Cumbernauld - the Manager I spoke with knew nothing of Butler & Carr, although knew of the fine imposed on them last year…..mmm…..I've asked him a number of questions and await his response…..

My points of concern are how my name and telephone number can be given to third parties without my consent or knowledge - and how I can contact them to prevent this being passed to others.

It is always in the small print you don't read with a bit of deception thrown in. Example is you tick or untick the box refusing consent but, later, you have to tick another one saying you have read the conditions in order to proceed.If you bother to read conditions you see you are giving blanket consent which makes a mockery of any previous yes/no consent fields.

To answer your question to get DM Design to stop bothering you go back to page 67 and see my entries on 24th-26th September
You register your number with TPS and they stop should stop calling as, since the time they were heavily fined, they check against the TPS register which is circulated to compliant (paying) marketing companies every 28 days. If they don't then people can tip off ICO via the online form and they get another fine and damaging publicity.

After all these years they are still at it!!!! Yesterday had a call from an Asian sounding male (didn't catch the name of the organization as my answer to 'cold callers is always NO - so not interested), asked me to confirm my name (he told me, I didn't offer), asked for my postcode & my age group. Then with a hurried thank you - he was gone after stating that a colleague would call me back. Which they did today - twice, but i dismissed the calls - twice.
As in early messages regarding this number, the call was from Kirkcaldy. Looks like they are canvassing again.

This shower called my TPS-registered number at 12.57 today (Sunday!) using the name Lindsay Anderson and calling from a withheld number in breach of marketing call guidelines. It didn't take more than a few minutes to identify the company behind this, namely the infamous DM Designs of Cumbernauld who don't appear to have absorbed the lesson dished out to them last year when the ICO socked them with a £90K fine. So for good measure I have reported them to the ICO again.

Whoever these people are they are the lowest of the low.  I asked them to speak clearly & they just cut off!  
The biggest trouble is they phone through on a withheld number & I have some genuine callers on withheld!

I am fed up with being called, when I start to ask questions they hang up. Samantha call today. I am retired and registered with the TPS why are they calling?

Had a call from them and they asked my name. When I answered yes they immediately hung up. May just pay them a call when next in Cumbernauld. Not the fault of the telemarketers, it's just a job to them and may be the only way to get a wage. But the owners of the company should answer as to why they think it's ok to operate in such a manner. There will be older people who answer these calls and are intimidated by them.
