Young woman called and said "Hi there, is that Mrs *Smith* (mum's surname)" I said no and she immediately hung up. Scottish accents.

Mum is on the TPS and has just barred the number.

hi out there all you tps people i feel your plight i can understand all your comments but you must realise that at these difficult times people must take employment where they can unfortunatly for you,you should not have to put up with rude people cold calling as i am employed in the trade myself i consider myself a very polite and pleasant person and would never be rude to someone over the telephone as i do not know these people and i pride myself on these attributes. All i can say this is a genuine £1,000 voucher,to be given to a household owner who wishes to use this voucher towards the cost of a new bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.Unfortunatly for me some of these canvasser's let us genuine canvasser's down and give us a bad name. Please do not class us all the same please and thankyou for taking the time to read this.

This is not actually a scam as stated above im currently working for this company and i was took on as it was the only job going at the difficut time and i need a job to support myself. Not everyone is rude and our branch certainly isnt as people are made sure to get fired if anyone hears this. Just hear them out they are just trying to do the job they could get.

To Mr X, Geanie and N/A - your comments about "just doing our job, give us a break" are inappropriate and completely miss the point.  The TPS was set up so that people who don't want to be disturbed at home by cold-callers can prevent such calls by listing our numbers.  Companies who call TPS-listed numbers are BREAKING THE LAW.  It is a legal requirement that you check the list before phoning anyone.  You may well be "just doing your jobs" - but do your job LEGALLY and don't call those of us who have already told you (by listing our numbers) that we DON'T WANT your bloody annoying calls.

Anyone with half a brain in your situation would have already figured out that you're unlikely to get any sales whatsoever from people who are already hostile to cold-calling.  So if you don't want rude replies, don't call f*cking TPS numbers, you morons.

Just had "Greg and Goodwin" on the phone offering me the usual £1000.  When I asked where they were based, the caller said Doncaster - presumably a lie, from reading other folks' comments here.  When I asked "haven't you heard of the TPS", the caller replied "Sometimes numbers just slip through".  Through WHAT, I wonder ...

Reporting these morons to TPS seems to have little or no effect.  Maybe it's time we took direct action.  Act friendly, book an appointment for one of their sales people to visit, then when he/she arrives, tell them politely (on the doorstep) that you wanted to explain in person to a company representative that you are TPS registered, because telling the tele-marketing team seems to have no effect.  If the sales team get enough wasted trips, maybe they will put some pressure on the managers to prevent the tele-marketing team from ringing TPS numbers.

god will you people get a grip, just say no if it winds you up so much. If you are tps then just say that and forget about the call. its only about 10 seconds, is it so offensive to you that companies are trying to bring in business in the economical climate?

These idiots phoned me today even though we are registered with the TPS. I told the guy this over the phone and he said "I didnt know that", i said you should have a list of people on the TPS not to phone and we have been on it for OVER two years, he said "I havent gotten the list", i said you are required by law to have it and not phone anyone on it, he said "No im not".

I asked who it was that was calling and he said "Edward and Evans".

Had a call from a withheld number today call was Joe from Edward and Evans, he had a Scottish accent and asked for me by name. He started off into his pitch saying that he was calling to tell me he had ten £850 vouchers at which point I hung up. I am registered with TPS and still get this type of idiot calling me regularly. About 20 seconds after I had hung up the phone rang, it was him again, before I could say anything he said "smart [***] prick" and hung up, what a loser. If the same thing happens to you, get in there first on the second call.

Tbf, we're not trying to get you to buy a kitchen... It's a legit voucher which gives you discount on a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. You don't have to use it straight away, it has no expiry date. It's just a nice little incentive. And I'm always nice to the people I phone, I apologise for interrupting their day, I always tell them to have a nice day/evening etc but if they're rude to me, I will be rude back. I don't want to be told I should get a real job etc I'm trying to save up for university to be a translator in french, german and mandarin. Some of us need this job. So, basically I'm just saying, yes the voucher is real and be nice to us. It's not like we like what we do...

I had one of these calls today - Edwards & Evans - I put the phone down as I too am registered with the TPS.   When I tried to pick the phone up to make another call it had not cut off and the charming lady told me to F*** off.  So much for polite callers.  I don't want to be unpleasant to anyone who is trying to earn a living but people do register with the TPS for a reason.  Clearly this company ignore the rules.

I also have received a call from this number.  No message was left when my answerphone took the call.  I called the number to see who had been trying to contact.  A sort of engaged tone was my response.
