???

Missed call.  1471 tells me the number is 0161. Of course I can't call it back, it's not a real number. Anyone know who this is?

Just had a call from this number, but when I answered there was nobody there & the line went dead! Very strange?...

Same thing with me, I answer and its silent. Problem is its been going on for over a week now, at least twice a day and getting worse. I returned from work today and found I'd missed 6 calls from this number between 830am and 1230pm. Any ideas how i get them to stop?

0161 is the first four digits of the manchester dialling code. Got calls from 0161 numbers and the person on the other end was extremelly rude to me! It was definitley a northerner on the other end of the phone, but dunno if they were from manchester. (Can confirm it wasn't anyone from Newcastle or Liverpool. I know and love their accents)

repeat calls on virtually a daily basis from 0161 6626540. Nobody there when pick up receiver.  Not coming up in search. Anyone recognise this number? Ta.

It's amazing how many scam numbers are from 0161. Don't assume it's from Manchester. Fraudsters can re-route calls via British exchange numbers from other parts of the world

I keep getting calls from 0161 688 1511.  Each time I answer, there is no-one on the other end.  My partner who is also on my contract keeps getting similar calls from 0141 567 6297 and 0141 565 1221.  These calls are extremely annoying.  I think it is companies cold calling.  If it is, can they be blocked and/or have our numbers removed from the databases that they contact.  Please reply, if possible, via e-mail at faulltytowers@yahoo.com or on my mobile number 07950 443324

THE MESSAGE WAS   THIS IS THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE AND YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A REBATE OF £7519  , asking why he replied he was michael  and that i was entitled to this sum £7519 i asked for his office number and i would ring him back the number he gave was 0161 8187356 i rang it back and a lady answered saying Ministy of Justice , i told them i thought it was a scam and hung up.

The Ministry of Justice DOES NOT have anything to do with monies !!!! They are there to administer Justice (as the name suggests) THIS HAS GOT TO BE A SCAM

Just had a call from 01618263541 no response on answering .Have'nt rung back assume its either hoax or cold call.

I had a call from 0161 826 3541 this afternoon at 1211 and rather than listen to some diatribe about refunds I hung up. I have in the past received calls from this number. How does one stop these very annoying calls.

I've had one today and one yesterday.  The previous one left a message on my answering machine saying that I had only one day to claim a refund due to me. As far as I know I'm not due any money from anyone (Wish there was!)  I felt it was a scam too.

With all these satrange calls, I now leave my answer phone to kick in.  If the caller is friends or family etc , they will leave a message

For the last three days, at about the same time in the afternoon, a "missed call" from 0161 277 8190. Clearly a scam.
