- FellaGot an email off them from "Ann" but it was signed "Elizabeth Grace"
A very obvious copy and paste email with my name even highlighted. Everything seems dodgy, ill avoid. - Charlotte| 2 repliesI had an interview with CityBuzz today. I arrived an hour late, due to being unable to find the office building in which they were based. I was met at the door by a guy in a cheap suit with greasy hair. He reassured me that it was no problem that I was late, which I found strange. Ten minutes later I went into the interview greeted by a jumped up manager, telling my how impressed he was by my CV, which I found strange as I quickly typed it in a hurry, with only having two previous jobs. It lasted all in all for ten minutes, which was the shortest interview of my life.I knew something wasn't right, as he didn't ask for any of my skills, or my customer service past experience. He told me they were the second biggest company in Europe, which is a lie, as there is barely a sentence written about them on the internet. I was invited to an interview the next day, which real companies would not do, for notice reasons. Do not waste your time going to this so called company.
- Puddy| 2 repliesAnyone heard of 'Manchester Active'
Have a follow up "interview" tomorrow, where ill be shadowing someone.
They said from the get go that they're not a door knocking firm, and it's not fully commission based - still not convinced... - sarah replies to Charlotte| 1 replyI actually ''worked'' fot this company for nearly 3 week, and I made my first sale, the gentleman signed his name, address etc etc Iwas so excited to be getting paid as I had no Income, but the so called team manager daid I was stil under training and didnt get paid! this company Is a waste of time, and they malipalate people expecially on JSA that there are big oppotunities and they tel the same bull [***] about how you can be making almost 200-300 a wk by yout 2/3 rd week ! I would not send anyone to this place, and the people whome are saying ''ohh wel you must be narrow minded'' for making such bad comments and ''you have never worked there'' wel I have worked there, It's discracefull and how the manager tries to mould people Into thinking they wIll be earning loads are hypocrits! and the people sticking up fot the company on here, probobly are the company managers discuising them selves as a member of the public ! pfftt It's a joke
- sarah replies to sarah^^^sorry about speling lol :/ so angry arhh lol
- Abdul ShahWorked for this company and it is very unprofessional. After leaving it due to university they refused to pay me the amount I deserved although I learnt from the experience I would advise people not to get sucked into this. The job is filled with morning meetings of inspirational talks to keep employees motivated but is nothing but a company looking for someone to do the difficult work, Apparently it is a expanding market so they will need more managers but it takes 6 months aprox to get there as advised by my mentors whilst I was there however there was people well over 6 months who were no where near that stage.

- sadiewhere do I start, it was the biggest mistake of my life!! I got an Interview for Citybuzz marketing in manchester in January 2013. And started working after passing all the stages in 2 days.
I was intreguid to know why this company was looking for people to open up in different countries.
I started doing the sales but not getting paid, I was paid £80 for a week, this is rediculous when I work 5/6 day weeks from 9:30- 20:30.
I had a manager - the worst assistant manager who was 19!! Sasha leatherbarrow. She was such a con artist in that one company. She rings people up pretending to be Ann Wilson, she's from Essex (fraud 1) she then hires every single interviewee but makes it seem like the interviewee is fighting for a postion when the truth is they hire absolutely everyone! I learnt that whilst working for them. They lure people (esspecially students) in with the prospects of progression and money - I knew it was too good to be true to make £100+ a day feel. Knocking on doors, I did apparently £200+ worth of sales but got paid £80. (Fraud 2)
they would target and learn sales techniques to overturn objections from customers such as "I'm busy" and "I do other charities" by learning to overturn people they could make them sign on to their sham charities and that is the last thing vulnerable people need knocking on their door. once they'd get customers bank details. The sales reps jobs were not complete til they got the bank details for the sale. And the sales rep would pressurise people into providing a bank statement to check they have provided the correct sort code and account number.
it also baffled me how the CEO/ owner Lawrence Randall would sit in the bar in a "business meeting" or interviewing orher people to rope into rhe business whilst everyone else was trying to get sales.
By installing false hope of progression and earning "good money" they would rope everyone into work for them. The staff turnover is very high, people notice it is a sham industry and leave because nothing makes sense and is all lies.
They are a big con artist company!
What was even more disgusting and fraudulent was when sasha stole moment from a colleague by taking bank details, that's was disgusting and very low, if that happens in any other company she would be sacked but no not in this industry she got promoted instead, which made it a dishonest and vile place to be.
I learnt my lesson the hard way, please don't work for any company like this, they need to be closed down! And please do not give sign up to anything at your door! These people are fraudsters.- Caller: Citybuzz

- jhjHeard about Citybuzz marketing through monster.co.uk. Just got an email 2day from them saying I have an interview for 2morrow (which is strange considering I only applied for the job yesterday), so I decided to have a little poke around and see what I could find out about them. Happened 2 find this feed and am I glad I did. I agree with what's been said re. their website. Too damn vague, I read the "Opportunities" page thinking there would b some sort of explanation regarding the job, and yet there was nothing at all, just a load of "impressive" sounding buzzwords but no concrete facts.
From what I've read here, I'm not the only one who got drawn in by a professional looking (if deliberately vague) advert. Think I'll skip the interview.- Caller: Citybuzz
- Chowdhuryx| 1 replyI went to for an interview which I was late for around 10 mins but they didn't mind at all which I thought was strange .
The manager was asked to have my cv even though I sent him the cv when I applied for the job , he took the cv then called me back after about 15 mins ,
The interview was very short only around 5 mins , he asked me question that he could very clearly find answers to on my cv he then told me about what the company does which I had already found out about on the internet .
I was then told that I was to come to 2 more interviews before they decide I get the job .
My second interview was booked he shook my hands and I went .
That was the end of the pointless interview .
I was told that in the second interview i would follow a worker watch him and take notes, this did put me off the second interview a little .
I soon came to the conclusion that this job must be a door to door job which i would only get paid if i reached my targets ,so i decided to cancel the second interview .
I'm glad I found this website and know now for sure that it is in fact a door to door job
I got email for an interview for the job the next day i applied , which i thought was also strange , my cv was apparently picked from the best c.v.'s even though I've had only 1 long term job .
I told in the email by an "Ann" that she is looking forward to seeing me .
I get interviewed by a man , no "Ann" to be seen
The job was advertised as sales assistant that's why i applied for it in the first place after applying for it i get told its customer service, then from the website i find out its face to face customer service .
I still decided eventually to give it a go .
Clearly a wrong decision is this case , very dodgy indeed

- Twill757 replies to ChowdhuryxApplied yesterday, got an offer for an interview today, after reading this I'm no longer going to attend, I have also emailed "Ann/Elizabeth/Sasha" and told her my reason for not attending, she didn't seem too bothered, so this must be a regular thing!
- JeremySeems I've been saved by all of you,I saw this and instantly sent a CV in,though I,being suspicious, didn't even bother with a cover letter on this occasion. I found so very similiar jobs for A-live Interactive and City Buzz,at the time I didn't realise how similarly they were worded. Swiftly got a reply from one,got a near identical reply from th other shortly afterwards.
Next day I get a phone call from city buzz and arrange an interview,I get a confirmation email. An hour after that I got an identical confirmation email from A-Live. Needless o say after reading what the job really would 've I won't be attending the interview. - JamesJust read this, and you all just saved me from an ordeal. Job interview was supposed to be for 3 today... just cancelled it. It is very true what people write here, once you have a poke around and open your eyes a wee bit it is evident that this is a sham company.
Stay away everyone and you bet that this company isn't going anywhere soon. Too many poor b**gers will jump at this opportunity for a job. - Angry and Upset!People be warned City Buzz Marketing is not worth your time!!
I applied for the role of Events Assistant believing it to be more of an office based position. The day i applied I got a call back stating that my CV has been very impressive and they would like to invite me for an interview. Like any human being given praise such as that would make anyone feel good, proud. Especially when no other jobs are calling you back and you can not seem to catch a break!! So i went to the "interview" I was asked to bring a CV with me. On the day I turned up to the Novotel in Manchester as they said their offices were being refurbished. Anyone who has had experience with me would understand what I mean when I say they talk so fast and you just do not get a word in edge ways!! He told me that within a few months I could progress to a managerial role with my own team and own clients behind me. I now know it was all bull!! Its all part of it to get you into a door to door job. They didn't disclose the job role because they aren't daft they know no one wants that job with OTE.
At the end of my interview he said he liked me and would like to invite me back the next day to watch some people do the roles and I can get to ask questions. I figured I'd go back at the end of the day what did I have to loose? I got there the next day and was waiting with two other girls who didn't know what the actual role was either. They then partnered us off with other people who would show us the role. The girl started walking and talking non-stop. We then got to a car she opened the boot for me to put my bag in. There were two other people in the car. It wasn't until we had been in the car 5 minutes she told me they aim to knock on 120 doors a day! We pulled up to a petrol station; there was a moped that pulled up behind us, the boot was opened and my handbag was taken! With everything in. Too coincidental for my liking!!
The point of me posting this is to warn people to stay away as it was a horrible thing to experience and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone else! Something is not right here, they con people into coming and getting a days free labour off young people in search for a career! It is wrong and disgusting and I hope something eventually gets done to stop them!
Please be cautious!!- Caller: City Buzz Marketing
- CrooksDown replies to SamHey little girl, are you one of the scammers at these 'companies' ? What do you know about sales? Going from door to door trying to persuade naive people into giving out money to some scammers as you? Have you ever considered doing a REAL job with REAL competition? You love this job because you are either too desperate, lack skills or qualifications or all of them. I would actually prefer working for Tesco, because it's a legit company and it pays its employees, unlike these con artist companies. Luckily, I won't have to work for either of them, but think twice before insulting people who have been fooled and defrauded of their money, you c**t!

- notmepalWont even lie, the fit Saudi girl had me a little gassed with her pretty face and fast speach but now you mention it, yeah it was vague and she asked virtually no questions about me at all. saved me time because if any of the things written above happend to me on monday, i would have gone wild and probably have got arrested, I HAVE BILLS AND SH*T , DO NOT WASTE MY TIME .

- WowReallyWent for an interview today with this clearly infamous company and Mr Lawrence Randall. Arrived at the address and saw "Supreme finances" on the from of the building... which I thought was a bit strange... as I walked into the office I saw no marking of "City Buzz Marketing" anywhere in the building, which again I found strange.
Waited around in the waiting room as was finally called in by Mr Randall. We had a nice chat and he seemed like quite a nice decent guy, he mentioned he was from Colchester (like the AC Generations firm previously mentioned in this thread) and he seemed generally happy about me being able to sell myself. He failed to mention throughout the interview that this job was in fact door-to-door sales and instead coined the term "face-to-face" sales. After around 10 minutes he seemed pretty happy about me getting a second interview (which I'm sure everyone who went to the first interview got invited to a second interview regardless of their performance), the second interview was tomorrow on a Saturday which sounded a bit weird, but some companies do it.
After reading these reviews, I'm glad I've found out that this is a complete scam and if things sound too good to be true, they pretty much are.- Caller: CityBuzz Marketing.

- Emma| 2 repliesApplied for this marketing/sales role job at City Buzz this morning, had a phone call for an interview an hour ago for tomorrow afternoon. Having researching the company and coming across this I've emailed Ann/Elizabeth back telling them exactly why I won't be turning up tomorrow. and she's clearly not bothered judging by her response.
Went to two interviews last week at similar places. CM3 and Alpha Advertising. They tell you nothing about the job description or pay, and when you do eventually get the opportunity to ask they change the subject or speak over you. They didn't want to know much about my experience and when I did tell them I didn't have any experience, they didn't seem too bothered as I was invited for a second interview.
Why anyone would work for a 100% commission role is beyond me. What aload of c***s.- Caller: CityBuzz Marketing Manchester
