seems a running trend they are calling people in NZ and Australia... i didn't answer because it would of cost me whoever it was. I looked up the number and am glad to realise its a scam and not a job offer I'm missing out on!!

had a missed call from them on my mobile, but i to have more than Car insurance but changing to someone else and was told when i rang to cancel it about perhaps trying a new quote online, which i did and seems to be getting calls from them but mainly on a freephone number 0800 952 4861

Wow, i just keep getting missed call's from this no (01612178400) googled it and i'm shocked to see all these people that have the same problem's!! I wanna no how they get are no's, when i rang it back it just went dead, so guessing it's not in this country!!

I'm pretty sure it's another of Capquest's "psudonym" numbers. I hear they call under many different names and numbers, usually pretending to be insurance companys such as Swinton, more than, etc. to trick you into giving them your details. they are a debt collection company that just don't give up wether you owe them anything or not. PLEASE OFFCOM, PUT AN END TO THIS, IT'S DRIVING ME UP THE WALL

In my case, these people took my number from UNITE (workers union).

I have been getting these calls too...

Just checked out their website and you can contact customer services on 08000136675 (freephone) to remove yourself from their list.

Keep getting calls from this number with no one on the other end, and can't call them back.
Seems to be from Manchester area (where my Solicitors are based) so very annoying as I think it may be an important call.

i've been getting calls from 01612178400 - and am also now living in australia?! why are they calling me abroad on my english mobile? am just loving being woken up in the early hours thinking it is some sort of emergency from back home....

Hi, I have had this number call me on verious occasions again leaving no message or when answering the call its just a dead line. I have been looking at verious ways of stopping such call's. Anybody who subscribes to Sky and are with Sky's Sky Talk they can request as i have the option to bar the last number that called , it takes about 5 days to set up on your phone line but once done you can bar any unwanted numbers, they will not be able to get through to you again. This option I beleive is only available through Sky's Sky Talk , I am not aware if BT offer this option as with most mobiles this option can also be used  please check with your phone company

She claimed she was calling back from O2, to check to see if my problem with them was resolved.

Just had a call from this number .... 01612178400 ....... it rang out cos i didn't get to the phone in time ..... googled it and ended up here .... will be phoning offcom so thank you for all the posts and advice xxxxxx

Not an advert , just trying to help as the tosser's have caused me no end of grief.  That option has helped me no end.

This number is from more than pet insurance

this number has called me for the past few days not ansewered as in kuwait.will see how many times they call me over the next few days and then send off report to ofcom about there practices. will not answer any of there calls

called this number back to get a message saying that it was an invalid number!
