- DanI have been recieving calls for 3 days. About 7 calls in total. I haven't replied to any, and when I called them back I get the same 'Welcome to Marmalade.com etc. etc.' spiel and never reach anyone.
I have am not even on a contract and my SIM is about 4 years old! I haven't given my mobile number away anywhere without my knowledge...
Looking at all these comments, and with a bit of digging, it seems that they have somehow obtained a list of numbers within the last year or so. I have looked around at their website and have tried the removal of number.
I really don't expect it to work, but I will get back to you if it does. What surprises me is the sheer number of people who are getting these calls AND looking for information about the caller. That in itself shows its no good.
I am going to keep digging. Remember that it is illegal for them to call you back under the veil of a company or themselves if you state in any form you no longer want to be called by them.
Local authority, civil services and any investigation companies or programs should hear about this in full details from everyone. Considering the number of people, action will more than likely be a result of our voice.- Caller: Marmalade.com
- DanHi again,
I have been doing some digging around and I think I have some idea of the operation. I know most of the details that the 'company' will ask for and their techniques.
I have compiled a short questionaire for anyone who has been recieving the calls to help us get a picture of what and how this is happening.
Can I please stress that these questions should only be answered if you are ready to share the information asked, online. It is completely your descretion whether to answer or not.
PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE SHARING ANY OF THIS INFORMATION.
1)Your current service provider: T-Mobile
2)Contract: No
3)Your provider one year prior to calls for this SIM (if any): T-Mobile
4)Age of SIM card: 4yrs
5)Access the internet via your phone: Yes
6)Enter any details online such as address, phone number etc. prior to calls: No
So far I have found that most of the affected are people of the provider '3' and of contract. However, as my answers above show that it is not limited to those.
Legally I must add that you answer these questions to your own risk; although I see very little.
I reckon we can end this scamming operation if we have some information behind who they are targeting.- Caller: LoveMarmalade.com

Yup the call patterns are all the same. If I did not take your calls the first time why should I answer it 30 rings an hour later.
I have a lot of free time, a free phone service and their number on speed dial so I prank call them back.
Punks.- Caller: ?
- ScarlettinaWhere do they get the numbers from? My phone is a work mobile and I do not give the number out other than to close family. I'm not even with 3 so why am I getting the calls?
- lrsHello Janet w,
Very amusing post, you sound a lot like the guy (someone who called himself Akka, what kind of name is that?) who kindly replied to my previous post (https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01612361088/4) several months ago about their/your other number 01612361088.
At that time they/you constantly called me on a work T MOBILE PAY-AS-GO PHONE! So they/you definitely did not care from which database they/you got my details from!
However, responding to what you have said:
Yes, on several occasions I did call you (sorry them) to let them/you know I was not interested and to stop calling me. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN!
No, there is no way I am going to willingly give them/you yet more personal details by going to their/your website and posting info into a web form.
Actually the only way I could stop these/you losers from calling me was to register with the TPS which I still consider a major inconvenience in that why should they/you be allowed to pester me at their/your will and yet it is left up to me to do something about it? You can read more about this in my previous post.
Pretty much all that previous posters say about unanswered calls, calls disconnecting when answered and the attitudes of staff when return calls are finally answered is totally relevant.
These/you bunch of HND business study grads (or whatever they/you are) that think that they/you are doing something worthwhile are no more important than those that work for example in a time share company, i.e. of absolutely no importance whatsoever.
You talk about 'truth' in your post which definitely leads me to believe that you have some interest in the company (I am very sorry for you if that is the case) because whichever way you see it, cold calling without prior permission from who you are calling has to be, by definition a scam of sorts.
I work in the telecoms industry so I do not need to research as much as you suggest.
There are major failings in the way industry watchdog bodies supposedly look after consumer interests, but thing are getting better. The, thus far, unregulated mobile operators are gradually being forced to be more accountable and there are now cases appearing where they are actually being penalized for their policies that have a detrimental effect on customers.
So to summarize, quite simply this/your company has no given right to make money from inconveniencing people you have made no prior relationship with. So back at you, THINK BEFORE POSTING!!!!!
Oh, and FYI, before you reply to this with some comment on the length of my post or the time I might have taken, have another look at YOUR post first. Cheers. - Gi naI am so glad that I put this number into the internet - I have been plagued by these people calling me - I have a pay as you go mobile - so I dont know where they have got the number from - now I know who they are - I wont be answering their calls - thanks everyone for the information about Marmalade.

- lrsHi Jenna,
Responding to your comment 'Just a quick example aimed at the above comments.....'
Firstly, I have never had cold calls from a bank I do not do business with that then hang up when I answer and so encouraging me to call back! So I fail to comprehend your association with posts concerning a particular bank and this.
You say 'Reading the above comments I can see that different people have different opinions…' and so on. Okay, now you're just fishing. If you could be bothered to look back at the history of comments it's obvious that most have had BAD experiences with lovemarmalade.com, so please try to look again.
In fact, I think the post after yours says it all really.
As far as I'm concerned I wouldn’t normally be bothered with posting messages positive or negative about anything, but because of the sheer level of annoyance and inconvenience this caused me, I feel compelled to do so in this case.
It won't be '… So End Of !!!!!!!' while http://lovemarmalade.com keeps maintaining these dubious practices.
Just in case I haven't made myself clear, I was being hounded on a WORK PROVIDED T-MOBILE PAY-AS-YOU-GO phone before resorting to registering with the TPS. This shows that these jokers have no interest in the database they get numbers from in the first place.
I would be very interested to know which number you dialled and who you spoke to to get your number removed from their database so readily.
Cheers.- Caller: http://lovemarmalade.com
- PTI wish these jerks would leave my damn phone alone, having only purchased the SIM card less than a month ago, a very limited few have my new number, so I was shocked and disappointed to find one of the first and repeated calls came from Marmalade.com however as suggested previously use http://www.lovemarmalade.com/remove_number.php to get your number removed from their dialling list.

- HthornThey seem to be on the prowel again.
Go onto the website as they have a function to remove your number from the call list, it takes them a couple of days but they do do it.- Caller: LoveMarmalade
- Annoyed Phone OwnerGeez this number keeps on calling me and every time it calls I miss it. They call like 3 times a day and it is really starting to annoy me!
- Betty DemnerCaller disconnects
- Miriamwhere are they getting all of our numbers from?!? i never give any companies my phone number, only my friends. only had one call so far so i hope they don't keep calling!
- PTThis is for everyone who has been pastered repeatedly by Marmalade Communications silent calls.
I have started action against this supposed mobile telephones company, and duely advise all readers of this message who have likewise been pestered to contact OfCom http://www.ofcom.org.uk/ and report 01612335844 Marmalade Communications as a company that is pestering your mobile phone.
My service provider T-Mobile say they can do nothing about it, British telecom also say they cannot do anything about it, I was advised by a BT supervisor to direct complaints to OfCom http://www.ofcom.org.uk/
I will keep users of this forum up to date with my personal progress in this matter.- Caller: Marmalade Communications
- PTInformation update:
The company responsible for the calls is:
Marmalade Communications Ltd
Duplex 4/Ducie House/37 Ducie St, Manchester, M1 2JW
Business number: 0161-233 4552
However calling them is pointless, regardless of time of day I've repeatedly only connected to an automated answering service, that says all their lines are busy. NO GUESSES WHY!!!!- Caller: Marmalade Communications
- JulesMy son has been getting about 6 calls a day from these people...always when he's at school ( he's 10 years old & not allowed to take his mobile to school!). Good to read all these comment as we were the same wondering who on earth are these people!! Will be ignoring calls from now on!
