Spoke to a guy from BMS (British Marketing Services) said I was not interested in his mobile deal. I'm also pay as you go so it would seem a random number generator. If they do continue calling I will update on this site. I answered the number about thirty times before I spoke to someone it just always went dead, and that is extremely annoying.

Called at 4.10pm but I missed it, called back and got ansaphone so hung up.

i get 2-3 calls from this number daily, but i normally miss them, answered once and no one would speak but i could hear background noise. its very strange, how did they get my number in on three contract phone.

Called me twice.. missed both calls. when i called back, i got through to some phone centre. what is this?

missed the call on the 3 march 08 at 17:57 i guess its cos my obile contract is up this month ill say bollox im getting a payg this time as there nearly all 18 months now!

The person i talked to was VERY agressive and called me by my boyfriends surname instead of my own name, astho they look at what the house is registered under and use that name....VERY DODGY!!
It showed up on my bill aswell as a 'third party call'
DO NOT answer! they are scam artists!

Just recived a call while in the shower from the same number. typed it into google and got this forum. only one call so far. but have a great way to get your own back. when they ring and ask about an upgrade. go along with it. make up silly phones that dont exsist then keep changing your mind. wind them up for one at least get something out of it. i guarantee they wont ring back again.

I have got calls off these 3 times in the past 24 hours! they also rang me about a year ago loads but that was on a different number to this. I am not with 3 anymore but i did port my number across so i think it is 3 who have sold on our details.

Called their customer service number 0161 2334552 - spoke to operator - polite and confirmed she would remove my number from the database straight away.

No hassle - no problem.

Now registered number with TPS to be sure.

Posted before, tried to get my number off their database 4 times now, no chance! Anyone posting here saying they're legitimate must have some kind of relationship with them as far as I can tell! Spoke to a so-called 'senior manager' who said they were called 'Marmalade'(not BMS ????). I think they're getting away with nuisance calls by disconnecting as a call is answered thereby avoiding the 'silent call' issue (check with ofcom).

they called me about 3 months ago saying they were calling about my account with additions, (which i dont have)
n now for the last month they have called at least 3times a day....there must be summin we can do to stop it....

Had two calls - the first time got hung up on after I said I wasnt interested, the second got hung up on when I  picked up... very annoying!!

Got several calls from this BNS or BMS no 01612361088. Rang them back to be queued. Couldn't be bothered why they called. Just wanted to know who they are since they just ring and hang up when you answer.

Girl on the phone seemed nice. SHE ADVISED me to register with TPS!!!

Akka mate, er no... you've got to be joking! Here's some 'perspective':

A company uses an auto dialler to call a list of mobile numbers totally at random that may or may not have anything to do with what they are offering. This forces people to call back to let them know they're not interested and to remove their details. They are assured that details are removed but subsequently still get unsolicited calls several times a day, everyday. There is also potential revenue share from the phone calls themselves that the company will take regardless of a sale.

This is not the actions of an honourable company!

You're right on one thing though and that's to register with TPS. But bear in mind folks that this can take up to 12 weeks to action. This will then exclude organizations that you know and normally accept calls from being able to contact you. You will have to detail each one in turn and give explicit permission to be excluded from the TPS. Which makes you feel like getting a new number but that will only complicate things for you even more.

I agree with most your points actually... all except for one.
as it's an 0161 number and there is no revenue share it blows that part of the argument out of the water. if you don't buy form them they're wasting their time too. You can't get mad with people trying to make a living can you?

I'm not suggesting their sales practice is ideal... just that if you're not interested in this type of sales call then register on the TPS and / or call them and ask for your number to be removed. you seem to be the only person who can't seem to get his number removed. You sound like a disgruntled ex-employee!

i'v asked them 2 remove my 3 times now. they are not professional and they are very rude. all they do is give funny calls everyday hoping ppl will ring them bak if i get another call i will be going to offcom.
