Any business that does not have a proper website like all these kinda companies are dodgy in my opinion. Some have their own page but its full of rubbish (as per earlier posts about Junior Enterprises Website etc which i have looked at and is so funny. 'The MD is looking forward to the new premier league season' story under 'Press' is so funny)

When they start giving people a basic wage, holiday and other perks i will open my mind to it but untill then, no thanks.

This job is actually real, there is no scam!
Dont listen to all the stupid people on here.
My girlfriend just started, and yes she is doing door to door sales, but this is part of the fast-track to bigger and better things.
What type of job were you expecting from no experience required. You think the people who work for them are stupid, but she started one week ago, she is already team leader and on around £20 an hour,
Being self-employed may mean no liabilities, but it also means that you can claim back taxes and VAT for work related items, which works out very well.
She has seen two people be promoted to assistant manager and numerous to team leader in just two weeks.
Yes it is sales based to begin with, but when you have a partner who actually has qualifications and job to be able to support her through the tough part, she will be on management by christmas and earning excess of 50k, whilst you scum are sat on your [***] moaning "ooh its so hard to get a job" well it aint, she was unemployed for a whole day, whilst I recieved two full time job offers in the space of 20 minutes just a few ago, all i have i A-levels and am i current uni student, while she only has GCSE's.
It is possible, so stop my taxes that i earn feeding your moaning, stupid, arrogate lives, get a job and make something of yourself

Congratulations on turning down a great opportunity, good luck finding another job with this potential seeing as you are all unemployed and have no skills.
    haha!

How on earth can you expect to graduate if you're walking the streets all day instead of studying?
Your girlfriend must be selling services door-to-door to be on £20 PH lol

    £5 an Hour
I wouldnt say that this is a scam - just a very DISHONEST and MISLEADING company.

As many have already said, they do not tell you it is door-to-door until you leave on your "observation day." They advertise for Bar / waitress experienced person, retail experience, or even, as I applied for, a "marketing assistant" (i have a business degree and I found this pretty insulting to class it as marketing).

Even if you make £300 a week, the time spent in the office in the morning, on the streets getting the sales, and in the office for the daily breakdown equates to £5 p/h.

I was deemed unsuitable for this due to my (what I'm sure is rightful) concerns about ability to pay bills and rent with this - it is commission only and self employed. If you read the definition of self-employed here
    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefi ... gTax/DG_4015975,
I'm sure most of us would agree that it is wrong. Also, by being self-employed, it means they have no legal obligation to make up the pay to min. wage if your commission does not cover it.

Maybe not a scam as they give you money, not the other way round, but certainly dodgy. STAY AWAY

If your missus is on 50k by Christmas I will personally travel to whichever rock you live under and suck you off as a festive treat. And I am a straight man, that is how confident I am.

You obviously work for one of these companies or if there is an iota of truth in your post are simply too dull to realise how indoctrinated your girlfriend has become, worse still it appears she is indoctrinating you.

Whilst technically not illegal these companies' recruitment processes are totally misleading and their business practices unethical. Some people will make some (good) money out of it but it won't be the little guy, this is no Hollywood fairy tale. In reality what most of these greasy "management" geezers in cheap suits don't realise is that they themselves are being exploited. I worked 9-5 in the public sector and earned far more than they actually do.

Furthermore when they [the few and far between] reach that mythical "autonomy" stage  and set up their own offices they take on massive liabilities. If anything goes wrong they instantly fail as they have no support from the parent company, no capital, and no assets, thus its back to the bottom of the pile again.

This is the same for every company mentioned on here all of which can be traced back to just a couple of US organisations that have evolved from a single company started in the 1980's called DSMax. These companies profit from peoples' toil, duping them into signing away their rights with a proverbial golden ticket that is proven to fail 99 times out of 100.

I feel genuinely sorry for young people conned into the slave-labour practices of these odious little pseudo-companies. The worst part about it is possibly not even the terrible pay, horrendous hours and abortion of their social lives but the way in which all these factors contribute to changing the reps fundamentally as people.

By greedily placing irrational value onto the sale of superfluous consumer toot they begin to view everything in terms of the business model: every person they meet is just another obstacle to be overcome in order to achieve a goal that wasn't really theirs in the first place. Personalities are replaced by vapid sales theory.

The proliferation of these companies is becoming a massive societal nuisance and it won't be long before legislation brings this whole house of cards crashing down, most likely leaving thousands worse off than they were to begin with. Cold calling people's houses is already outlawed in some London boroughs so I wouldn't waste any time in an industry which is practically already outmoded. The successful people in this industry already know this so are making hay while the sun shines.

Finally Chris, if you're a student you don't pay tax. I advise a little forethought before getting up on your soap box.  Not wanting to work 70 hours/week for less than minimum wage with absolutely no security is not laziness or stupidity, it is common sense and self respect. All the best with your studies, if you happen to pass a library over the course I advise picking up a dictionary, funded in-part by MY taxes, you absolute cretin.

Thank god for this website, I've just left college and looking to push myself into a full time job which i can thrive in, I applied for a "sales and marketing" post on the website jobsite.co.uk. They contacted me a day after saying can I attend an interview the same day, which is today, which I found very strange. After applying for lots of jobs and never getting an interview, I was highly suprised at how keen "Katie" sounded on the phone about how successful I was and how they're going to interview 100 people in one day. I was actually buzzing and decided to put the address into google, 20 Dickinson street, Dickinson House, M1 4LX. I found it hard to pinpoint on google maps to decided to just try to regular search engine and lo' and behold, scam websites came up. I read some of the stories and thought, possibly not, this can't be true. I decided to contact jobsite and gave them a phone call and after about ten minutes, the guy I was speaking to (and i told him everything i'd read about the companies) he said "do not go to this interview". He also stated that the company is not affliates with jobsite and he's going to report it and get it taken down. Whether that actually happens or not, i really do not know, but probably not as it seems to be happening alot. So far today i've had two phone calls to my house from "Primus UK ltd" and I gave them a piece of my mind. I've also had three emails from Primus UK LTD, 4ward Promotions and AC Generations with all very alike emails, no way am I attending that. If this happens to anybody else I advise you DO NOT ATTEND ANY INTERVIEW, IT IS A CON, A SCAM AND THEY WILL BRAINWASH YOU WITHIN THEIR CULT-LIKE ORGANISATION!!! They go under many company names, do not fall for their promising job aspects. I know someone who has been brainwashed by Primus UK and swapped to their "sister" company K1&K2 and believes he is in stage 2 training and will be a manager in a few months and wont listen to anyone that it is a scam, I can't believe I nearly got caught up in it too, although I am not that stupid to go. If you are getting caught up in it and bombarded by phone calls tell them this, because of the Data Protection Act yuo require your details to be destroyed from their database or else you will contact the police. They should never bother you again. I am going to be vary wary from now on, especially on the job websites I have been using, turns out you can't trust anyone. Thankyou to everyone for helping me to see that this is actually a sham and in turn stopping me from going to the 'preliminary' interview. Many thanks, and to others, be VERY dubious and do not attend ! We need to put a stop to this and somehow report it because it's unfair on the more naive honest people out there getting dragged under by these people. Also, if "Bourbon Creations" contact you, it is the same thing !

Best post ever replies to No Chris
Your post, is by far the best post i have ever seen and not a truer word spoken! Print it off and post it to every address that these companies operate under. We need to spread the word and get people out of this ridiculous system. Bombard jobsites asking for it to be taken down and just do what you can!

The mere fact that we are saving just a few people from this (judging by posts on here) is encouraging. Soon their recruitment pool will dry up and the unsustainable theory that is a pyramid scheme will become clear! (either that or these companies and the way they work will become illegal before then)

Thank god I looked on here. I haven't even sent an application or cv to Primus but they seemed to think I have and have rang me twice today and emailed me twice. Saying I have been successful for an interview??? I haven't even applied for a job with them. I though this really weird.

They are clearly desperate for staff if they are ringing up people who haven't even applied for a job. Yet they say in their email 'due to the high volume of applicants'. I doubt that very much. I'm assuming they have gotten my details of fish4jobs as I registered yesterday with them and they rang this morning. I'm glad I ignored the calls and checked on this website before they could have a chance in convincing me to go for an interview.

You have been fooled replies to Chris
Your Girlfriend is brainwashed. Please ask your girlfriend how often she is going to claim back her taxes and VAT as i have heard on many occasions that people working for these companies DO NOT claim their tax back for months and months as if they did they would go bankrupt as they dont earn enough money to live. Then after a year the tax man comes calling and then there is trouble. The bosses encourage you to not pay taxes.

I have a job, pay taxes, and generally contribute to society. And assuming your girlfriend comes to her senses in the next few days (i hope she does for her sake) i would be glad to contribute my taxes to her benefits as she will be on more than she is now. If she were to be earning 20 pounds an hour like you say she would be having to make around 1 app an hour which i know from experience is not feasible every day of the week.

So get her to quit and spend time with her like you should do.
