They're ambulance chasers. i had a call a while back from a number that I spoke to etc and told them I wasn't interested in making a claim and to not bother calling me again. This is a different number but from all the comments above it has explained the mystery. I just hope I can catch their call sometime and tell them what for! Is there anything we can do to stop them?

I've had them phoning three times this morning already. This has gone on for the last two weeks at least. It's becoming very annoying!!!!

Call BT they will hopfully get your name taken out of "whoever this is" their system. ive just called BT hope it works

Had calls every few days for several weeks.... looked at this site a while back before i called them back so i knew it was a dodgy number, Anyway one time someone did come on the phone and claimed to be from Action Legal, i rightly informed him he is working for a scam company then hung up!

Think they were called 'Accident and Legal'.

Been calling here the past week or so. The record has been 4 calls in a day. Every time I pick up it is dead.

I'm curious how they got my details. Has everyone here been in some sort of car accident? Are they getting our details from our real insurance companies?...

got a call fropm this number asking me if i had been in a car accident in the last couple of month, when i rang it back it is a automated call

There must be something we can do, maybe we get charged for answering the call?

Next time I shall let it ring and ring until they get my voicemail.

This is a scam, you get charged £20 if yoiu stay on the call for longer than 3 seconds.

That last comment is a joke, just ignore the number, it's doing my head in as well

had same call 11/7/08 about a car accident i have never had . i think these are fraudsters i think i'll contact police and make them aware .

Who is this? Getting calls on home phone in morning and late at night, have new baby so have missed the calls but got number from 1471. No messages are ever left so it can't be that important!!!

Just had a call from this number, hung up when I answered. Had a call from them on my mobile a couple of weeks ago but told them where to go.

Why not do as I've done and get a 0871 number and give it out to companies instead of your landline number - that way, whenever they ring, YOU GET PAID. It also warns a lot of companies off due to the costs.

My partner had a call asking for me on his mobile.  I am not connected to his mobile in any way.  Explain that one!  
The guy had a Mancester Accent and said it was to do with insurance.  So unknown to him, my chap gave him my number.  He asked what its about and the bloke said I cant tell you anything else due to the "Privicy Act".  Then hung up.  Its actually called the Data Protection Act so this got me suspicious so googled the number and got this.
The bogus caller did ring me but I missed the call.
I have reported it to the police.  They said if you get charged it is a crime so I advise you all to report it and get an "intelligence report" number incase it needs to go further.

this is a company called Chameleon Telesales. They are situated in stockport (manchester)they are a Raod Traffic Accident Company. They call people non stop until you ask to be removed from there calling list. To compain call manager Rachel on 07792498489, the company are the biggest load of rubbish! glad i dont work there anymore

I just had it too, however I had a full conversation with a lady who was basically telling me that I had a 4 figure compensation claim that I could do easily for injury when I had a non fault claim last year, even my insureance company dont have the number she called me on and when I tried to call back, yes you've guessed it a foreign ring tone and no answer.  She said she was calling from my insurance company!

I have had 6 calls today already, I have reported it again, if you all do the same it may get sorted.This has been going on for months now, I have actually blocked the number, but my phone still logs it.
