They have been ringing me 3-5 times a day between 9am-9pm!! for the last 6 weeks. When I have answered they have hung up or there are weird sounds in the background, when I don't answer they leave a very vague message asking me to call them back. I am also insured with Swinton and was in an accident 6 months ago. I have now started answering the calls but not saying anything and leaving my phone on the tv, they can continue to waste there money calling my mobile.

These people need to get a life!!

Try nomorecalls@chameleontelesalesltd.co.uk again, I sent my number to this address and i haven't had another call. I even got a reply to my e-mail to let me know it had been removed.

I just called the number from a land line and it's Chameleon Telesales. They have an automated response and if you follow the prompt and press 9 you can enter your number to be added to their "do not call list". Hope it works!!

Tell them nothing!

This always seems to happen to me after i have used Comparisson websites such as Compare the market.com and moneysupermarket.com (not confused.com)

I think these are the people passing on our numbers and I will NOT be using them again. If you contact your phone company they should be able to bat the number for you. That's what I've done. Good luckk everyone

When I started getting calls, I asked a legal friend about this and he said they are trying their luck ringing people up about accidents within the 3 year statute of limitations on claiming compensation for injuries. He said that when you ask for details about the accident THEY are ringing YOU about, they go all funny and cant answer. So I rang back and sure enough, the girl told me there is £1,500 sitting there for me to claim for whiplash (whether I suffered it or not) from the third party's insurance. When I asked who the third party was, or their insurers, she said her "system" had gone weird and couldnt tell me. These people are nothing but vultures working a scam which ultimately will increase insurance premiums for everybody else whilst they line their pockets with a percentage. And of course they are from up North. The number they ask me to call back on is slightly different 01612179890.

I have just called them back, I got through to a company called Autonet :http://www.autonetinsurance.co.uk/

I've just had a call from some dumb female calling from this number saying she is from Autonet.  She wanted to talk to me about an accident I had in 2007 which wasn't my fault.

She wouldn't tell me where she got my number from so I told her in no uncertain terms not to call me again.

caller said she was following up a car accident from 3 years ago but she didn't have any details there, Was asking questions asking what we could tell her. i believe, from what she said, that they're touting for business for accident injury claims.idly gave
Mentioned on behalf of Chameleon. I should have been more wary because it was my husband she asked for but on MY mobile phone which he doesn't use, i stupidly gave her my landline number as line was bad

Knew my name, asked for my address details which I did not give. Asked why, told data protection act prevented her from telling me why!! All could get was she was from Camilion who dealt with claims and Autonet? had supplied my number.
Told her I had not made aclaim or had anyone claim against me, goodbye!!

Also just had this call, they said they needed me to give them details.  Told them i wasn't willing to give any details as hadn't had an accident. Glad i didn't.

Told me they were called Chameleon and calling on behalf of my insurance company. I didn't confirm my ID, and asked which of my insurance companies had instructed the call. Got put on hold then they hung up.

Called my insurer who had never heard of them and had therefore obviously not instructed the call.

Got a call today from this number said they were calling about an accident i was involved in in 2008 when i ask them where they got my number they said car insurance company I told them to F*%k off hopefull will not here any more

i sent them a copy of my report and got this reply -

Called up to 4 times a day for about 2 weeks - today I rang the number from a landline and got through to a HUMAN!

Conversation went as follows:

Them: Welcome to AutoNet, how can I help?
Me: Hi, I get up to 4 calls a day from this number and every time, they hang up
Them: It'll be a courtesy call
Me: Why do they hang up then?
Them: Its probably on an autodial and when you answer it moves on
Me: Not a courtesy call then?
Them: Well whatever
Me: Well anyway, take me off you list please
Them: Will do, thanks, bye
Me: Hold on.... Dont you want the number? Or my name?
Them: No it's ok, I have it
Me: Really? I havent given it to you, and i'm calling from a landline
Them: I have it, its ok
Me: I'M PHONING FROM A LANDLINE NOT MY MOBILE
Them: Oh, ok, whats the number?
Me: ******** (number)
Them: Name?
Me: (I gave a fake name)
Them: Its done. Bye

They then hung up. I have no doubt he wont take me off the list

Scam artists

Not sure if this is the same caller as all of you but this is as close as I get to the number which comes up on my mobile  01612*494491. Keep missing the call .... Wont let me call back! Its really annoying as they dont stop ringing!

answered a call from this number and the girl asked for my details to confirm she was speaking to the right person, when I asked what it was regarding she said she could not tell me as she would be contravening the data protection act. Strange if you ask me, a company not divulging what they are about and yet asking for you to give personal details.

I keep getting calls from 01612*494491, 01612*494496, and they just hang up! I decided to remove the star and ring them. The guy said they were Chameleon on behalf of Auto net. I politely asked him to remove my number from their database and stop calling me. He asked why? So i told him it was wasting my time every time they rang and then just hanging up! He wanted me to confirm who he was speaking to and my name had obviously come up from my phone number. He said he couldn't tell me anything due to the data protection act until i confirmed my name! What a load of crap! I hope he has removed my number. We shall see!

Called them back and talked to "Amy W*rly". Told her to tell her team leader that any further calls would be treated as harassment. She told me it was not cold calling and she was calling on behalf of my insurer. I told her that my insurer denies any knowledge of them. She then said that they had got my number from car quote websites. She said they were not part of LBM.
Called back and asked male drone if they were Chameleon. He said yes.

have been receiving calls from this number for about 2 weeks! They either hang up before I answer, or when i do answer no one says anything. Really annoying. How do i report them or block them? and how did they get my number?
