If you recieve such calls, you should report it to Action Fraud (0300 123 2040) / Police. These athorities should know that this scam is widespread.

Its a scam my friends also getting these calls, don't believe, UKBA or any VISA office never asks information over phone or accepts, its always through correspondence and payments to their address.

Hi, very unfortunate situaiton with you, when you are panic obvious fault of others also goes un noticed. Western union is the key to indicate it is a fraud, never VISA office accepts information by phone, mainly remember no VISA office does a favor for you if you are not legal....!!!, but I can understand the trauma. They are exploiting the situations. My suggeestion is change all your passwords and keep an eye on your trasactions and alert your friends.

I also got same call today, he told his name Mike watson and given same story as given above. I was afraid and given all personal details to him. I will complain in UKB.

today my wife (on a dependent visa) got a call from this number saying she needed to sign some form which she didnt and hence either they will deport her or pay 512 pounds.

Report it to the UKBA  as soon as possible.  The more people that report it the sooner this nasty scam will be stopped.  Personal information given to these scammers can be used for identity fraud or, even worse, for terrorism assistance.

When I spoke to Action fraud department they mentioned to me to not even talk to these guys as they are not worthy of your time.

Anyway, next time they call and threaten you to deport you back, ask them to do so. tell them you are after a free ticket back to India. They wouldn't even talk any further :)

Got a call from these number on Friday the 24th. They were after my personal details and I was asking them to authenticate that they are from UKBA. Based on the replies on this website it seems that it is only Indians whcih are impacted. Secondly the information they have is not upto date(They wanted to deport me without knowing that I hold a UK passport). Thirdly they are after those Indians who do not belong to a ciy where British High commission is. The idea is asking them/family member to go British High commission and if they don't have anyone staying close to BHC, they suggest for money transfer.
I doubt if these callers are calling from UK. Please DO NOT yield to their dirty tactics.

I just disconnected the call.. and that guy called me again from the same number 01614081201, however did not leave any voice message.. just left blank message in voice.. defenetly an indian guy.. trying to get the uk accent but sounding bit of us voice.. idiot.. i understood in first 10secs..

I received a call as well yesterday asking me to transfer 250 pounds immediately as I had not filled my CISA number while entering UK the last time. They asked me use Western Union money transfer and transfer the money to British High Commission Chanakyapuri,New Delhi, India.
They also said that if I did not I would be deported as well fined 2000 pounds. I reported it to action fraud

and they told me that its definitely a fraud and not to take calls from this number. I also called High Commission in India to confirm they also said its a fraud and not to entertain these people.They have since called me multiple times this morning, I haven't picked up.

Guys... i got this call this morning... to be honest they got all the address details of the persons they are calling... they are trying to confirm the same... dont know what else could happen... but try to ignore these calls.... ukba has already posted this news on thr website...

I also got a call from same number from a lady with an American acccent. She called on my wife's number and was calling about Foreign citizenship number. As I had read about the call on the UKBA website I told  her she is fake. She started to panic now and tried to suggest she is genuine by telling she is calling from manchester and the minister Damien Martin had issued a notification in July....blah blah blah.

I told her if UKBA have to contact me they will send me a letter and and I will deal with it.

Just want to make all of you aware of fake UKBA calls to pay £££s to avoid deportation.

My wife (dependant) got a call today (29/08/12) from a lady pretending to be from UKBA. She first confirmed the name and visa category and then went on to say that my wife has not filled in the Foreign Citizen form!!!!!. I took the call from my wife and immediately realised she was a fake caller because of her American accent (spoken by some Eastern European & also because I had read an article on UKBA website). She said she was calling from UKBA Manchester. I asked her to give her office number and I will get back to her. She asked to call on the number dispalyed on the screen which I checked on my laptop - which brought me to a forum of https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01614081201/3. I told her I don't believe her to which she tried to make lame excuses as to why she is calling from a 0161 number and not a 0800 or unknown number.

I also told her if there was any issue with the visa UKBA would send a letter to which she replied that a minister - Damien Martin has made a declaration on 9th July and they were contacting everyone on the phone.

These people seem to have all your basic information so must have done their homework very well or maybe the Home Office have lost another disk with our data on it.

These scammers tell you all sort of threatening  stories to get £££s out of you. PLEASE DON'T PANIC AND GIVE ANY DETAILS.

Forward it to all those who are on any kind of UK visas. As I had already read about it, I was able to deal with the fake call.

There are people on the above forum who didn't knew about it and panicked and ended by giving more personal information.

So please spread this message as soon as possible to avoid anyone like us getting into trouble.

Yes, I received the call before sometime and thank god I was already aware of this as my employer had sent us mail detailing about this last week.

I wonder from where they get our details as he (Mike) already had my latest house address (even though I have changed house after coming back from India).

Anyways, thanks to my employer.  Feeling sorry for people who are the real victims by paying the money..

May this guys get caught soon, so that they don't harrass innocent people like us.

I got the call from that number yesterday. I should have checked in internet first. Anyhow I have not gone any further. He was damn professional and how in god's name he knows my presence and my address?? culprits in UKBA??

i got a misscall from this nunber today. i called back. one guy recieved my call  and told me he is from ukba. i ignored him and was on my way.

i also got a call from this number.............. thanks to all of you guys ......before making the trasancation i google this number and found all of your comments .....i also report the case against this fake call in poloce through UKBA ....FYI please contact UKBA on 03001232040 to replort the case if you havent done yet...
