Just had a call on my mobile, while driving. I was expecting an important call from home, so started to pull over to take the call. (I'm not hi-tech enough to take the call while driving!) The call ended before I'd even stopped the car. This sort of call is really hacking me off now - it seems that more and more of these chancers are auto-dialling their way through the mobile phone world. Shame we didn't have a contact number for them - I'd happily ring them to offer them some unwanted junk I have at home. And then ring them again.

How do you block this number from coming onto your phone.  There must be a way.

I get this stupid number aswell but never manage to pick the call up. Thought It was just me.

They tried to call me twice today. Having read this thread I have now saved the number to my contacts under the name SCAM as I don't know how to block on my 'phone either.

O2 joined with Carphone warehouse and they had access to all the o2 mobile numbers which they the sold on to the highest bidder so now all o2 customers are getting thes call.  I had this information given to me from o2 when I told them that I was peed off with all the sales calls and if I got anymore I would move to Vodaphone.

This number started calling me out of the blue a couple of days ago. They gave me no chance to pick up as they hung up after about 3 seconds, however I wouldn't have answered as my phone reported the number as "Manchester" and I don't know anybody in Manchester. I added it to my black list app and the log info shows that it has been blocked 2 more times as of writing this. They are averaging about 1 call a day. My phone is dual SIM and the number they are calling is my O2 line. I therefore can only assume that it is the same company that most people here are being contacted by, who are masquerading as O2 or an O2 related company for the purposes of up-selling a mobile phone contract (my O2 line is PAYG) and/or gaining your bank details (never gonna happen, ever)

I called this number back and it said "You were called on behalf of O2 and we will endeavor to call you again soon. Should you wish to speak to one of operators, please press one." I did that and the line went dead. B**tards!

I receive cold calls on a daily basis, but I never answer unexpected calls or numbers I don't recognize, hence, I haven't spoke to a 'cold-caller' for a very long time. This number is just one of many I expect to get today. O2 are a set of pricks if they have passed on their customers' contact details. I'll be switching providers because of this.

I received a call from 01619023758 Today...... This is O2 and I can confirm this as I have just signed up to a Sim Only deal with them.
The offices they are ringing from are in Baguley, Wythenshawe, Manchester M23. It is an outgoing call centre hence why they ring of the (0161) number.
O2 Rent these offices from a separate company which would suggest that if you have previously had phone calls from this number and it was another company (not O2) then it could of been some kind of scam etc.
However as I have said I have taken a call from O2 on this number today and when challenged they provided me with log on details to the O2 website as a new customer, sent a verification email with details about the call with genuine O2 banners and signs and sent a verification text to my mobile.
As of 20/11/2014 O2 are using this line and it is genuine.

They are O2 (part of the telefonica group.... You are an O2 customer hence why they are ringing you.??

Sounds like you work for these jokers. They are NOT O2, just some marketing company. As you can see, mist of these reports are BEFORE the date that you state. Idiot.

This number was trying to call me every day in the last few days. I finally could answer it and it's O2 customer service. I'm with them over 9 years and they wanted to check if I'm happy with the service I receive which I am. They offer different options if you want to make changes.

Sick of this number ringing, they are not 02, ive rang 02 and they know nothing about this number or so they say  x

Just had a call from these & ignored, if you can't block them on ur fone add as a contact and if u can assign a ring tone do it as a silent one or if you can record your own voice saying something like "spam call" & repeat a few times. You will know not to answer it then.

Just had a call from this number - they say they are O2 - and tried to offer me a better deal - as I only top up a tenner a month of course they couldn't offer anything lol

Im not going to block there number at all I'm gonna dick with them ha ha ha😈 I might pretend to be police or 02 or may be a sex line for gays lol
