I phoned this number trying to cancel an agreement with Lavora Marketing, was answered by Isobelle (who wouldn't give her surname) and was told she could not cancel the agreement. I later had a call from Sarah Earp, who told me I had to write to cancel, this was after trying to cancel for 3 weeks.

Had a call from them this morning with a similar story to you guys!! I was hesitant at first because we all know organic listings are far cheaper and reap long term results.

Anyway a guy called Daniel was very pushy and told me that it was guaranteed top sponsored link listing - but whilst on the phone I told him that the listings change on every refresh, he came up with a story about how they are affiliated with Google and have an agreement to place our ad on there for a whole month. It thought it sounded fishy but it sounded like a good deal "if it was genuine" Whilst on the phone he directed me to their website and it has a Google Adwords affiliated badge and even a link to Google showing they are Adwords affiliated.

They probably are but for £149pm they are basically doing adwords and either you have 1 exposure per day or the budget is exhausted straight away - either way all they are doing is basically adwords which any monkey could do.

Im gutted to be honest as i've always been very cautious about this kind of thing and I feel cheated "hook, line and stinker".

After closing the deal and being promised a confirmation email (Of which I have yet to receive) I googled the company name and ended up here - Im gutted!!!

They also phoned back saying that my card wasn't authorised so I gave them a second card details - God knows they probably have tried to take money from both accounts. Damn!

Anyway, Ian said that Daniel will be contacting me shortly to confirm the cancellation and I will receive a concellation email! He was very polite but I am optimistic about all of this! I think the best thing is to contact the credit card company and cancel the cards.

Damn I feel like a fool!!! Hop e it gets resolved with no wasted money!

I had a call from lavora marketing for 1 months trial on google, which I took and now they are pretending I owe them further money and until I pay up they wont cancel our agreement. I cant cancel what I didnt agree and am writing to them stating clearly the facts and inviting them to take legal action against me
if they believe I agreed to any more than 1 months trial. Also I have been to trading standards and if we get a petition or if enough people complain to the trading standards they will be able to act. Please pop into your local trading standards or give them a call and enable them to act against this kind of misrepresentation.

Lavora Marketing are a terrible company. Avoid like the plague, don't be sucked in like I was. I got no results from it, was totally mis-sold and it is very difficult to cancel with them because they take payment by credit card. My advice to get out of it is to cancel your credit card and get a replacement, so they cant take any more payments.

Again please avoid like the plague, went with them just to see if it made any difference and more importantly to see the monthly report (see below)
    Key Phrase    Average Position    Status
*******     Page 1 Premium Link    Live
*******       Page 1 Premium Link    Live
*******     Page 1 Premium Link    Live
*******     Page 1 Premium Link    Live
*******     Page 1 Premium Link    Live
*******     Page 1 Premium Link    Live
            Page 1 Premium Link    Live

That's my report!!!! WTF (naturally i have ** the key phrases) but seriously, and i had to ask for that several times, pointless exercise, waste of money and worst still, continue to take money from credit card, no one answers your calls, no returns any calls but they never fail to take your monthly (rolling contract) money! sent letter and email clearly stating my thoughts on their company, practice and lack of customer care. (oh but it did gain me 1 click through in 3 months, yep thats right "1")Pah!!

Bunch of Monkeys, seriously avoid, avoid avoid.

Had a call today from this number. This is how the conversation went..
Them "Hello mate I'm calling regarding Google"
Me "What do you mean exactly, are you suggesting you're from Google?"

Them "No mate, Google wouldn't call you directly"
Me "So..who are you, and what exactly are you calling me for?"

    Them "My name's Jonathan mate"
Me "Yes..but who are you exactly?"

    Them "My name's Jonathan mate"
    Me "And..?"
No response so I hung up
They then called again immediately and I told him to F off
They then called AGAIN and I didn't answer

Now, what these muppets rely on is that a lot of gullible people will think they're actually Google, that's why they're very careful with how they word their introduction, but they are definitely con artists.

These people (Lavora) called me today claiming they could get me on the first page of Google.

They started the call in a manner that strongly implied that they WERE Google, but as I work in web design I found this unlikely - Google don't cold call people!   I quizzed them further, at first pretending to be naive, so they would dig the hole a little deeper....   They rattled off some crap about being one of two companies entrusted by Google to get "allocations" for first page search results, again, a pile of tosh.

Basically, they are selling pay per click advertising via adwords - I think targteting the sponsored links (which I know a lot of people ignore anyway).

The other interesting thing was that when I asked them if they were SEO specialists, they said no, and that SEO was being legislated against, and that using SEO techniques would get you delisted from Google!!?   Complete nonsense.

This company is a scam, pure and simple.

Just had a call today from a Stuart Higgins who promised a top listing on page 1 of google for £136 and then 99 quid a month. I dont like handing over credit card details to anyone for obvious reasons so i told him this and he directed me to their site and gave me their company reg no and told all calls were recorded. Told him i,d think about it and to come back to me later today.Meanwhile (ironically) I googled Lavora and found this  and other similar sites. It all seemed quite plausible during the conversations i had but something didnt quite ring true so i done a credit check on them as i have this facility through my business and they have 2 recent county court judgements against them which doesnt instill confidence so i,ll stay well clear. Incidentally they have rung about 4 times recently without getting through to me and each time they have said they are from google.

I have just had a very unpleasant experience with this company. After offering an initial one month trial to which I stupidly agreed based on their various promises of no further committment, and without reading their small print, (which makes me feel very naive!), they now have me in their net! Although they possible aren't acting outside the law they have conned me into a further two months payment of £113/month for advertising that hasn't yielded a single business inquiry for me. BEWARE of these people, they are ruthless, and once they have you, you will find it difficilt to escape.

just had a call from this company put their phone number into Google Search and arrived at this page

usual sales patter £99.99 + VAT £113 guarunteed Top Listing page 1 for 6 searches relevent to Driving Lessons within 10 mile radius

Gave my usual reply " Give it free for 48hrs to prove what you are saying is fact otherwise I can't afford the risk " Needless to say wouldn't take up the offer but did inform me " I couldn't afford not to take his incredible offer up just for 1 month as I would be guarunteed Top Spot Page 1 Listing for all searches within the 10 mile Radius "

Must admit to a mid 50's person gaining recognition on search engines is like walking thru a thick fog on a dark night easy for some to say read different advise / educational sights but with NO knowlege understanding these can further confuse rather than clear up misunderstandings

I got hooked, then I found these pages. OUCH!. How can I be so stupid ... bye bye £136.85

I paid by Debit card. After realising I was scammed and the money had gone out of my account I thought I had better do some damage limitation. I reported my Debit card as broken to the Bank and they promptly cancelled the old Debit card and issued a new one. Now after speaking to someone else at the bank it appears that despite cancelling the Debit card that I used to pay Lavora, Lavora can still get money out of my business account next month because they have all my bank details. I'm gutted. So now the only course of action I can see is to terminate my 20 year old business account to prevent further recurring charges.
Oh, it is 6 days since they took money from me and still nothing on the internet. I phoned and complained that nothing was showing on the internet, so the guy said he would give me some free mobile advertising, if I paid him a £50 activation fee, "b***ocks to that" I said (see, I'm learning now).

I later phoned to terminate the contract so that it did not go beyond this month but the guy would not acknowledge a cancellation. I'll be sending a recorded written cancellation, for what ever good that will do.

I'm just waiting for my phone bill to come in now and see if I have been scammed for premium rate charges.

An expensive lesson learned the hard way. £136.85 down, new debit card, new bank account and a charge on my phone bill.

Looks like I may have to send the boys round.

Have any of you actually written to them within the first month's trial period requesting a cancellation with immediate effect?
Has the company acknowledged this cancellation request and left you alone ???

    Thanks.

Reply to Steve, according to LAVORA you can cancell at any time in the trial period, (within thirty days from order placed) by phone but no refund will be given, even if you cancelled the day after the advert appears WRONG, due to them not listening to what you asked for. They will take off your advertising as soon as receiving cancellation however recieved and they will keep charging regardless saying no cancellation has been recieved.
Lavora marketing are a bunch of chancers, their arguments hold no legal water. When dealing with them keep records of all letters, emails and phone call times, dates and an outline of conversation, this all helps build your case if they are daft enough to take you to court. Play them at their own game just make sure you are better prepaired.

Oh how I wish I'd found this site 2 months ago! I signed up for the month trial and 2 months later I'm still trying to cancel.I have called, emailed and now written but feel very worried after reading all these complaints. I spoke to my credit card company, they can't do anything without confirmation of cancellation and by the sound of all these messages I very much doubt I'm going to get one!

    Lavora is an absolute con!

Mis-sold by Ian Rose, conned by Mike Critchley.  Gave notice in writing, they did conform but have charged me for an additional month.

I expected to pay £99 and then cancel if it didn't work.  No response to the campaign but have ended up being invoiced for three months.

Wrote to cpmplain on 5th may - have received no reply.  Wrote to them today - am not optimistic.

Steve Vine, have you tried going down to their office in altringham?? I am considering doing just that as I am getting nowhere over the phone. I agreed to a months trial starting from June 09, after rethinking and asking if I could cancel I have been told bluntly that I will not recieve a refund. Ian Ford (customer services) told me that the adwords had been purchased so it was too late. When I confirmed the campagine was not due to start for a further 15 day and therefore they should not have started the ball rolling, he just said its too late they have already paid for the adwords.

Needless to say i'm fuming and will be getting the monies back one way or another.

AVOID AT ALL COST, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILL WHAT SO EVER
