- steve vineTo P'D OFF. I too requested a refund 'before' they had even launched the 'campaign', but got the same response, a refund is out of the question. I thought I had some rights in the 'cooling off' period due to distance selling, but apparently not in this case. I've kissed goodbye to the money and am doing damage limitation.
I lost all confidence after talking to the account manager, because [1] he tried to sell me more advertising whilst I was making a small complaint [2] he flatly refused to admit that they took more than the guaranteed 48 hours to get the ad working [3] he there and then refused to accept my request to cancel everything at the end of the trial month.
Here's what I have done so far:
[1] I told the account manager over the phone that I was cancelling immediately and would not be continuing after the trial month.
[2] I sent them a recorded letter stating that I wanted to cancel during the trial month as per their terms and conditions.
[3] I cancelled my debit card and informed the bank of the reason.
[4] I informed the commercial services fraud department of my bank that I had requested a cancellation on the 6th May. The bank has that date on record.
The Lavora account manager was polite and decent enough to call and leave a message on my answering machine this Monday. He acknowledged the cancellation and assured me that they would not take any further payments from my account and that the ad would run for the full trial month. I have stored a recording of that message. So, I am under the impression that the matter will end at the end of this month. I do hope they are decent enough to be good to their word. I will let you all know at the end of this month what happens and whether things need to be escalated to another level or not.
I agree, their customer skills are not good and they leave you with no confidence in the Lavora company whatsoever. The reports I see of them taking further money out of customer accounts is very worrying.
To see what they have done for me, search for 'Stocktaking Buckinghamshire' or one of the other adjacent counties i.e. Oxfordshire. Please avoid clicking on the link else you'll distort the hit figures. I am Sv Stocktaking Services 01908. Email me offlist if you want.- Caller: Lavora Marketing
- Miss Z BennettI dont know what all the fuss is about! I signed up 2 months ago with a pleasent sales person who answered all my questions and guided me through to their website, I agreed to a months trial for 5 regional phrases equalling £136 and within 24 hours i was on the 1st page of google.co.uk right at the top! Since then i have recieved numerous enquiries and numerous new clients! People above must just have too much time on their hands and the type who send chocolate wrappers back to the "not satisfied, receive a refund" address. get your act together its £99 and its worked wonders for me.
Hopefully these comments will help.
I now have both my businesses through Lavora and they are helping me recieve new clients each month.
Thanks guys!!!- Caller: Lavora Marketing
- steve vineWhen you've been treated like I have then you will know what all the fuss is about.
I have had ZERO enquiries.
I have got no new clients.
I have not got much time on my hands.
The reason I'm typing is because I'm worried.
Glad you're ok though.- Caller: lavora
- Lavora connedHi I have just been conned by lavora. Thanks for the advice i suspected as much
- Lavora responcesI have noticed there's a lot of hypocrites here, the fact is i took some advertising out with Lavora 4 months ago and honestly it worked quite well okay it was not the responce i had hoped for which is why i cancelled. However my point is simply this READ YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. No company can survive more than 1 year ripping people off the way you suggest Lavora are doing without being brought to serious attention.
So many people are too keen to critisize mistakes because they don't even think about their own business before agreeing. Im on neither side however the fact is here someone has accredited Lavora and your jumping for their throat - bit one sided dont you think. The end of the day the time you put into trying to destroy their business is time you loose on your own - think about it.- Caller: Lavora
- StephanieSince first comments on 14th May, I have had several dealings with Lavora.
The only person who has had the courtesy to contact me is Mike Critchley, who today, after several phone conversations, sent me an e-mail confirming that my ad has been cancelled and that I will be charged no more money.
I now believe that some of the commitments that he made on the telephone, when I was first contacted by Lavora, were made in good faith. It is still true that Lavora failed to act upon the commitments made by Mike.
Mike has informed me that my account has been closed and has said that I will receive a letter from Lavora confirming this. In other words he has committed to do exactly what I asked.
I have to say, that I have never had any problem contacting Lavora by phone and that I have always been dealt with courteously - even when I was pretty angry!
On balance, I believe that Mike has tried to help me. Other members of staff have been less customer oriented. Neither Lee Harrop nor Sarah Collinge have responded to my letters and at best this is discourteous, at worst may show a reluctance on their part to have anything on the record.
I do believe that Lavora sets out to deceive. Whilst it is absolutely the responsibility of any purchaser of a service to read the contract and the conditions associated with provision of that service, I believe that it is the reponsibility of the seller to lay out those conditions clearly.
I believe that some of the complainants on this website have not read their contracts clearly and not followed Lavora's instructions (like cancelling by letter). I also believe that Lavora has been misleading in their communications. For instance their so called 'reminder'to customers that they are ending their trial period and entering into a more rigorous contract comes desguised as a 'status report' in which there is no use of the word reminder, nor a clarification of the consequences of not replying in writing.
If Lavora wants to reduce the number of complaints and does not want to be regarded as a scam, then it should make some of its conditions clearer.
If you, the customer, do not want to pay for services that are not suitable for you, then "let the buyer beware" and check the small print, read the contract and then do what it says! - Martina CookI am having a night mear with this company PLEASE DONT TOUCH THEM!!!!!

Subject: My Cancellation
Dear Sir,
In response to your letter dated 28 May 2009.
I do not accept that yet another payment is due from me. I have never received the service to which I originally was told i would get:
Full access to see how my hits are doing.
Ann Summers is my company and you could not even put my business name.
To be able to change my google search tags.
I was contacted on 11th May by Mike Lancaster confirming if i made a further payment of £113.00 my campaign would be cancelled.
The campaigne will be taken off on the original date of 15/06/2009 not any day sooner or after. I do not want to see my campaigne live after the above date.
I recived a call on Tuesday 12th May From Alex who said that he was sorry i was leaving and he would be able to make the serivce better and work.
I asked him to send me infomation in writing to my email so i could look over the details and decide on what i would like to do with my campaign.
I received a email on wed 13th May saying my requested changes had been made and listing the details of what had happened i never asked for that to happen.
I replyed as soon as the email arrived stateing that NO CHANGES were requested and to continue with the cancellation of this campaign so i asked for cancellation well before 18 May 2009.
If any further payments are taken I will have to resort to taking legal action against you and report you to Trading Standards.
I am away now from Monday 1st June - Wednesday 10th June.
If I do not receive a reply to this email i will assume that the campaigne will be taken off on the original date of 15/06/2009 account settled account and no futher payments will be expected or taken without permission.
I have fored all correspondence to Visa Disputes Dept. Who have flagged your company.
Reply to this email
will have to include why you feel you can contiual to take payment for a serive not wanted, needed or changes to be made without my request.

- Jean beardI have had a very unsatisfactry experience with this company and number, I started off with a ssales guy, took up there offer because they said they were Google, Cancelled after the first month, got hounded by Mr Ian Rose, for further trial 3 times more searches for same price, to prove it worked, my google analytics showed no significant change, if anything had dropped off! Cancelled again as per our agreement (i was assured by Mr Ian Rose I could have same first month cancellation offer) Was then hounded by Mr Alex Knight who said he was staggered it hadnt worked, I kept standing my ground for cancellation....... to cut a long story short, they are the most cavalier, unethical company I have ever dealt with and am now in a stand off to get my money back. Since when cancelling by email was unacceptable? they just want to spin you out as much as they can into another months fees. I am astute normally but not this time. ASA and trading standards should have a file so thick on these guys, how come they are still operating!

- SEO WizardI had these monkeys call me a week or two ago informing me that they could get my site to the top of the page on google, "jee whiz guys, really"? It's already at the top you Muppets.
When I explained that my site was in fact number one for most of my chosen search terms, "Neil" then informed me that he would have my site removed from the organic listings...
Well I hope google got in touch with you Neil, because they weren’t very impressed when I informed them of your behavior. - too late?i don't touch these kinda schemes but somehow they have succeeded by 'selling' whatever the hell it is they claim they do to my father. consequently he has had two debit transfers which we are tryin to rescind.
i am in the process of a writing a letter atm as its only the 2nd month
Can anyone advise us on this matter please?
many thanks - Derek SimpsonPut down the phone - I too fell for these scambags. Lavora was never mentioned during the call - Google google google - thay must be proud of Lavora. Cancelled card but too late - "A direct debit may have been set up". By post an "agreement" to which I had not agreed mentioned direct debit ad much else for the first time. Tried to cancel whole thing - "you have no cooling off period as this is a business to business transaction" ( we got your money ha ha ha). Trading Standards confirmed this. They then put the wrong search terms on the wrong country search engine!!!! Surprisingly no business has been generated. To claim back money you have to prove they did not provide the service promised. In writing they promise almost nothing - getting your ad on the search for five seconds a day would fulfil their undertaking. n Don't just ignore Lavora Marketing tell everybody you know about Lavora Marketing - put the scambags out of their miserable thieving business.
- JohnLavora Marketing are a nightmare!! They are threataning us with debt collectors!! We have cancelled the advert by post, phone, email, but still they won't take our advert down!!
When they first called us they said it was for one month only, no contracts, no renewal, etc. All of a sudden we have to give them 30 days notice in writing by post!! They don't send anything out by post, why should we. We dont even have an agreement to cancel!!! We had to cancel our credit card to stop further payments, and instructed our bank not to pay them anything at all!- Caller: Lavora Marketing
- HaggisThanks for the warnings guys, just had this crowd try to call me, fortunately I was out and they only got the answering machine!
Needless to say I won't be calling them back...!- Caller: 0161 9242190
- jasonpromised front (1st) page of google to myself, partner was sceptical but i went ahead and paid 136.00 wish i had read this site first and listened to my wife, i am now £136 out of pocket. i heard every word correctly as did my wife when she asked to speak with the agent "JED" to confirm that i would get front page, he confirmed, i am now off to the bank to try and get my money back, if i get no luck am off to trading standards as i was promised a service they knew i would not get.... bloody scammers stay the hell away .........
- jasoni must also state that they told me i would receive an invoice immidiatly via email which i must state i have never received, nor have i received the conformation in the post, cannot believe how stupid i have been
- IanI too have just had a call from them, good they are awful, guy put the phone down on me when I asked him to email me info and call me back! So I have just written an email to them:
Dear Sirs
I just received a marketing call from one of your representatives, I must say that his customer service skills left me open mouthed! Not only was he abrupt, he said he was calling from Google, when in fact I questioned this he then said your company. I asked him to email information and call back in a week, his reply, we can’t wait a week and put the phone down.
I must say he did a fantastic job in making my mind up! That I will never think about using you company now or in the future, and agree with the many concerned voices on various message boards about your company, see here: https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01619242190/4
I too will be contacting Google to make them aware of your under handed sales tactics.
I request that no one from your company ever calls me again.
Regards
So don't get fooled in to signing up with them.- Caller: Lavora Marketing

- dontgiveupI have had a terrible time with these people, as all of the above comments and my letters emails and phone calls to end contract ignored.
On top of that I wasnt even sent a contract, but the only way I could get them from taking money month after month was by changing my bank details.
The good news is that I have been refunded via fraud dept of my card
I advise you all to contact trading standards, dont just threaten it, do it, cos these people just lie!- Caller: lavoramarketing
