- AnonKeep calling our main office telephone line, and ask for a call back "urgently" as its very important. Can only imagine its sales anyway, particularly after reading this!

- GI called back and apparently it is Public services UK and they supply "Information to the government"
Lucy was on annual leave.
hmmm- Caller: Public services UK
- PeterObviously a complete waste of time and amazingly good at annoying me. I have dealt with loads of sales calls over the years and these are the only ones who manage to rile me! There is nothing that can be done about it. They are clever and never send emails beausse that would leave an evidence trail.

United Kingdom - Anon| 3 repliesHad a horrible woman contact me yesterday demanding to speak to our MD. After telling her several times I would pass the message on she got worse. Name: Suzanne Carrington from Gov Today. I googled everything and it all looked like conference / exhibition sales, not what she told me.
I called her back and her attitude was disgusting. Shouting down the line "Do you know who I am" I sent her an email this morning so that there was no bad feeling on our part and got a call back from her. Again her attitude was appalling saying she didn't need us any more etc. I just hope she doesn't call back.- Caller: Gov Todat
- JMJust had a call from Glyn Ford 01782 633159 promising some interesting work for Dept of Communities and Local Gov plus organising a conference next month the conversation then ended quickly without any details as someone else was calling. Thought it all sounded too good so googled Glyn Ford and found this website. Although the phone number is different the pattern and the name are the same

- Anon replies to Anon| 2 repliesI have also just had a call from Susanne Carrington from Gov Today. It was not clear that she was in sales and she was very vague about what she required. She was aggressive and offensive and dishonest about the reason for calling.
- Bob replies to Anon| 1 replyI too have recieved many calls from this woman Susanne Carrington, she started off by asking one of my sales staff to speak to the MD when she was asked what the call was in relation to and mentioned sales leads! she was directed to me as head of sales for the business, she at first refused to speak to me suggesting the member of my team was stupid and that I was not high up enough to take her call, eventually she called my direct line thinking I was the MD and launched into a 'I am so important and you really need me speech' however after a lenghty discussion she eventually got the message that she was a rubbish sales person who described herself as a 'consultant' and that I was not prepared to spend circa £22K minimum to speak at one of her seminars. This business is also linked to PSCA or Public Service or some such title, someone mentioned they are struggling for business on this performance it is no wonder! If they are acting in the name of a government dept maybe someone in n official position should take a look at them.
- Melanie Cartlidge replies to BobI have this woman Susanne Carrington on the phone.
Awful and disgusting attitude, she was very vague and didnt seem to know anything about Alpha which prompted me to ask her what she was after.
A person you definately do not want to talk with and most definately not want to do business with. - smiffy‘Anthony Snag’ of ‘Public Services’ rang my company a little while ago and engaged a ‘decision maker’ (an executive) in conversation re a forthcoming conference. The conversation progressed to a sales pitch where the executive was asked if they would like to mount an exhibit at the conference – the cost, £12,000.
Public Services (PS) www.publicservices.co.uk is a publishing company that has a variety of other services (including running exhibitions and conferences). www.publicserviceevents.co.uk.
Thankfully, the executive took some advice before progressing and this gave some time to check out A. Snag. I ran a brief background check on the company and it took very little time to uncover some unsavoury details.
Firstly, I wanted to find out what other people had experienced with the company and entered the telephone number into ‘Google’ hoping to get a hit on ‘Who Calls Me’ – I did.
More information came from Telepest www.telepest.co.uk

which gave the address, phone, fax and company number (a match for the company website)
The company has previous names – PSCA International Limited (changed 8 March 2011)
Public Service Communication Agency Limited (changed 25 April 2003)
Ever 1887 Limited (changed 20 December 2002)
Also, PSCA Holdings Limited www.companiesintheuk/ltd/psca-holdings
PSCA Holdings Limited also has a previous name – INHOCO 3458 Limited
Chief Executive – Gordon Warrender.
A business sale report of 4 June 2008 states that PSCA International, the magazine publisher with offices in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh has undergone a management buy-out supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland. PSCA International has a turnover of £12 million. http://www.business-sale.com/acquisitions/art ... lish-29608.html
Go to Google search and enter PSCA International (with a space following) and one of the options that will appear is ‘scam’. This will take you to http://psca-international.blogspot.com
Where a link will take you to the ASA website where a complaint against PSCA international was upheld www.asa.org.uk/Asa-Action/Adjudications/2005/ ... d/CS_39449.aspx
A simple search for people who have worked at PSCA raised numerous hits – the common link to almost all of them was the word ‘sales’ in connection with their employment at PSCA. Mr Snag however, was not found online.
Conditions for staff working at PSCA have been described as ‘a sweatshop’. An ex-employee claims that top salesmen earn £15,000 a week (Gordon Warrender denies this and says that the top salesman only earns £11,000 a week).
In our case, we did not take up Mr Snag’s kind offer.

- SmiffyProbable scam.
Public Service Events have since called back to enquire re my Executive's interest - they were told that we were not interested in their offer of a conference exhibition place at the cost of £12,000.
Despite this, I anticipate yet another approach - the company appears reluctant to accept 'no' as an answer!- Caller: Public Service Events

- Bring Back FloggingCall today from 'Emma' - 0161 2388877
Plainly had an insufficient brief from the 'head scam man' and she got tied in knots.
I could see where the conversation was going so did not play along too long - it was the usual drivel - hinting that they were the major gatekeepers and controllers of, who could 'meet with ministers' etc, prior to contracts being taken out.
Solution - build more jails and put them in it - along with the politicians who are failing to regulate and act against this nonsense.- Caller: Gov today
- Anon| 1 replyI have worked for these jokers - Avoid them like the plague. You will be lied to about how there is only '1 page' left and about deadlines ending 'today' . Awful , awful , awful place to work . Lying , cheating , scumbags. Personally witnessing the pleading , hardsell is cringe inducing. Publicservice need to be shut down.

Phil Jones - EmijMatthew Wright calling from PublicService.co.uk telephones on 01782 667340.
Very rude, arrogant individual who must speak to my boss immediately - even asked me to interrupt a meeting (which wasn't even happening anyway).
I asked him to email further information if he wanted to speak to someone but apprently he couldn't possibly email anything as it was far too confidential (1st phonecall) and he was at a conference with no email access (2nd phonecall).- Caller: publicsevrice.co.uk
- Anon_BDWe had this call from Annette Lucas subsequently by Alex Lockette. Sweetens you up for nearly an hour expressing the importance of this, buttering you up to make you feel that you're the only one with the knowledge in a topic, and effectively making you feel that you really need to be contributing by writing an editorial piece. When in fact this is effectively advertising in their publication. Dropped the price at the very end and demanded immediate response back, saying they needed to get this firmed up with the editor.
Then I got over 10 calls one after the other, with no consideration that we're in meetings or otherwise busy.
I do not feel comfortable engaging with a company who conduct their business in a misleading way.
We have avoided and would suggest others to do the same.- Caller: PublicService.co.uk

- An Ex-Employee| 1 replyAfternoon everyone, just though I would add my two pence into this discussion.
I was employed by there scum bags and drawn in by the massive amounts of money to be earnt and the credibility of the company.
[***]. Basically there is a room with 20-30 people in and phones. There are no computers, there is no database, the staff have to go home at night and basically google the companies that they are going to call the next day. So when you get asked to be removed, there actually is no database. The staff have a pile of numbers/companies/directors and call through them all day.
It is a joke, I have worked in sales for many years, including double glazing sales, this is by far the worst.
If your wondering why they are so harsh on the phone, it is because you are told in induction that if you put the phone down or end the call without a sale you will be sacked. You have to get the decision maker to buy or put the phone down on you.
It is a terrible business, I am not sure how it is still running but it was massively going down hill when I was there.
I left after a month to much relief, and found sites like this when I left.
Terrible company, I feel for you all. - go_girl replies to An Ex-EmployeeHi
I've only just found this site. Been getting sales calls from Melody at GovToday. The website www.govtoday.co.uk looks quite impressive, but having read these comments I am thinking it's just window-dressing.
I did go to a GovToday event in London last year and it was OK - not massively well attended.
The sales pitch is certainly hard - and they are evasive about emails.
Am I right in thinking this is the same bunch as PSCA?
Thanks
