Here's a useful tip: When entering your info into these price comparison sites, use an invalid phone number i.e. 07777 777777 or leave out a digit, they will give up calling when they can't get through. You can always change it to the correct number if you decide to later buy the product.

It is Go Compare. They were phoning whilst I was still on their website getting quotes!

I Got a call from this number 10 mins after i had been to gocompare.com. Hung up when i answered.

This is something to do with Tesco Bank (Insurance) website. I entered my details in last night to get an online quote to insure my van and the website gave me some quotes but I didn't want to take any of them up yet.

I've been indundated all day with calls from this number and texts telling me to buy insurance from them. The moral of the story is don't give your phone number to anyone who may use it for marketing purposes. If the form demands a phone number make one up.

Had 6 calls so far today (having used a van insurance compare site last night). It just hangs up whenever I answer. Auto dial technology or whatever the hell it is is so rude. Don't these companies realise that they are just making themselves look very bad....

Perhaps somebody made up a number (instead of giving their own) and it turned out to be yours..!?

Came after using cost comparison web site.

Managed to answer the phone before they rang off. Told the scottish chappie on the other end that I wished to register a complaint and not to ring again. He hung up. Don't think I will use these cost comparison sites ever again.

I've had ten calls and told the idiots everytime I'm not who they are wanting to speak to. They are really stupid n I've reported them to the general insurance standards council for harrasement.

So why have a phone?

Have a look at the Terms and Privacy Options on these websites as they have to supply an opt out option - It does on MCNCompare as I have just found it
If they call you after that they are breaking the law

same story, I used comparison a site, frim now on I will put a FAKE mobile number on these forms, shame really innit !

Simple solution - next time you use a price comparison site, use a throwaway email address and use your area code followed by 000000 as your number.

Just make sure you update the details with the insurer you decide to go with :-)

oh, and these vultures keep a record of your details for ages so expect repeat calls from last year when you renewed your insurance.

ive receieved two calls from this number now in the space of a week and they claim to be looking for "kurt" they wont say as to why.
my guess "kurt" owes money

Compare the Market... makes you wonder if you are getting a good deal if all the Comparison sites are using the same number... needless to say... Insurance has gone up AGAIN this year! and another pointless no claims bonus...
