Another call from 01789 999 999.  Not answered and surprise surprise - they didn't leave a message!

caller left a partial message about .......all accommodation. Ex directory so how do they get through?

Recorded message in American voice alledging to have won a trip to Florida.

This number called me at 1830 today.  I didn't recognise the number so I cut them off.  I put the number into a search bar online and it took me to this website.  All I can say is I'm glad I didn't answer.  I've only had my landline for 2 weeks!!

Received this number too. Seems like they're still doing it....

Yes me too - maybe we should all invest in a Christian Bale telephone answer message - I heard one recently that runs for several minutes :)

Got a call from this number at 8am this morning.  

Very unhappy.

They obviously perform this scam because it works, or else they wouldn't be making the investment in it.  Who actually falls for it??  An automated voice telling you you have been specially selected, etc.  You have to question the sanity of anyone who does fall for it.

This number called and said I'd won a prize.
I hung up!
Why are these rubbish calls allowed by the government and regulators?

Got home from work just 10 minutes ago, the phone rang and I piked it up. it was a voice record saying that I'd won a holiday award..I hung up immedieately.. Thanks for the internet as I've come across about this story before.

Call came through on a line I only use for outgoing business calls and PC fax modem.  Didnt answer it and dialled 1471.  I never give this number out or use it online but get a number of calls coming in, none of which I answer.

Rang to offer holiday. Wife struggled to get to phone only to discover who it was - yet again!

I'm interested by the alleged Waitrose response: "With the last two [options], pressing 1 connects you to a foreign premium rate number at £50 per minute."

That isn't physically possible is it? You can't be charged for an incoming call.

I've had numerous calls over the last few days with 01789 999999 and also 01789 000000. The majority of the calls were during the day, but I even got one at 9pm.  I've never picked up the phone when I seen it was a strange number.

just got a call from this number, didnt recognise cos it seemed like a strange number and didnt recognise the area code. i'm glad i didnt now! hooray for the power of the internet, i might have answered it if they called again, i def won't now!

Rang me at 9.01 a.m. I answered on first ring and the line went dead.
Did 1471 and this is the number that came up, if they ring back they will get a mouthful from me

I also received 2 calls from, this number.  999 999 999 gives impression that it is from one of the emergency services.  They should be stopped.  I am also ex-dir and TPS registered.

recieved a call from this number thought it seemed odd.rang it back it wasn't recognised and im glad i didn't answer after reading all the comments.i am also tps and ex directory

Received a call from this number at 11.10 this morning, but suspicious of the nines I didn't pick up.  Googling the number and finding this info I'm glad I didn't bother.
