A Client’s Story:
An elderly lady with a hearing difficulty received a “cold call” from a company subsequently identified as Sera Wellbeing. She was asked a number of questions about her health and agreed to buy a bottle of tablets described as a supplement for cancer sufferers at a cost of £18. She gave her Visa Debit card number in payment. A week later the lady received delivery of a box containing 11 bottles of tablets, invoiced at £167.50. She asked her bank to contact the company on her behalf to request a refund, but the bank were only able to arrange a partial refund and the lady now felt that she did not want to accept any of the delivery as she felt she had been mislead.
The lady came to Monmouth CAB where we checked her rights and contacted Sera Wellbeing, requesting a total refund. We helped her to repackage and despatch the goods and two weeks later the client returned to the bureau to say that the money had been refunded to her bank account.
Correspondence from the CAB written on the client’s behalf is often effective when an individual approach has been ignored or a request refused.
We are currently collecting data on nuisance “cold calls” so if you have had a similar experience and require help, please call in to one of our drop in sessions.

- Eye-ladyMy Mother (old but not usually easily conned) was conned by this company, who managed to get her card details and sent goods totalling £220, which she certainly did not order . They claim they will refund and the goods have been returned, but I we are also requesting a refund for the postage which they are refusing. This company is purely a Scam - do not get involved, an ideally report them to local trading standards if possible

- rebecca replies to JubaJust got a call from a person calling himself David.
He knew my name & was calling about health ,needless to say I hung up quickly, if only these fraudsters could be caught.
How they are still getting away with it is beyond me.
As I was scammed by Natura Healthcare, one of their many scams I will continue to report unwanted calls.
We have the NHS to rely on so stop hounding us with your misleading advice, what you're doing could be dangerous, messing with people's health, not that you probably care ,all you're after is money. - Rosehip capsules don't work! The beggars phoned on this number at 10.04
- Concerned daughterMy 79 year old mum, who suffers with dementia had a call from this number today asking her lots of questions, she did not know the answers to some of them ad put the phone down on the caller, who immediately called her back to continue his line of questioning - luckily for my mum her carer was there at the time and witnessed the call and took over the call from my mum and told the caller NOT to ring again. The carer then called me either the number and I called it myself to ascertain how they had got hold of my mums telephone number to which they replied "from a national database" I told them to remove my mums number and not to call gear again......we will see! These people are unscrupulous despicable individuals who are preying on innocent, vulnerable people for their own gain.

- Naterbox| 1 replyA polite lady with an Asian accent called this morning saying she was calling about a Health Awareness Programme for the over 50s. I asked where she got my number, and she said form the database. When I asked her which one, she said the NHS. I asked her for her phone number, but she queried why I wanted it, so I put the receiver down beside the phone. Due to the pauses beween my answering her, and her speaking, I knew she wasn't in the UK.

- scottish pensioner replies to opijniGot a call from 01797335071 polite lady who spoke broken English - not happy when I told her not interested. Another of these pest calls which no one seems to be able to block.
- bobYou can block the calls on your own. There is no authority over such calls in this country, so really it is left to those of us who do not want nuisance calls to protect ourselves. You need to get yourself a call blocker. Have a look at the internet and you will easily find them.
- Paula| 1 replyThis company called my 86 year old father despite him being registered for TPS. He spent £125.50 with them on celery tablets. Registered TPS for this very reason. I have managed to get a refund of £100 although it cost £7.50 to return the tablets.
Following his purchase he then received a call asking if he would like to have a wet room fitted as they understand he has mobility problems!! How did they Know I wonder?- Caller: Sera Wellbeing
