My Mum aged 86 was scammed this week. She said the person who called seemed to know about her illness (arthritis but that could be a guess) and Dads (alzheimers), and where she had grown up. She asked how he knew this stuff but he didn't answer her question. They should not be receiving any cold calls - registered already. She was given the impression she was receiving a free gift to try - they sent a free bottle, along with 6 others that they charged her £125.50 for. How do we stop these people preying on our vulnerable elderly?! I will be requesting a refund.

Unfortunately there is no definitive way of stopping these fraudsters as they operate from India. I would advise your mum to change her phone number, as I suspect she'll be plagued with calls from similar scams, or buy her a call blocker. I would also take Sera Wellbeing up on their earlier offer and anonymously post them a stool sample. Phone them and threaten them repeatedly - others have obtained refunds, but you have to make a lot of threats to report them for them to cough up your money. Let us know how you get on.

answered this call today, was asked about my health, told him it was fine and finished the call. He continued to call, I answered again after the 3rd repeat to be told he was not 'cold calling'. He clearly was since I hadn't requested the call or even knew who he was. Once again I cut the call but he tried up to 10 times more before giving up. Didn't do much for my wellbeing.

Ha! I have just HAD a cold call from 'Franco' (he gave me his reference number as 8456418) - trying to sell me Celery Seed Extract. The phone number he gave me was 01797 219107.
He told me the product was good for dementia and asked me which credit card I would like to use to pay for the stuff. I said none until I had verified everything he had told me, whereupon he offered to call back next week.

My father was conned out of £180 by a "lovely Welsh lady called Daphne" outrageous and despicable.

By all accounts they prey on the elderly and charge huge amounts for very little.

I had an unsolicited call from a man called 'Roger'. He stated that this company represents the NHS, and they are licenced to contact people with certain ailments with an established treatment using  Celery products. He had some of my personal information which I thought would be confidential. He then said they would sell me some pills for a payment and to give him my card to deduct the cost of the pills.

There is enough information in this thread to let you make a complaint to your own Doctor and to the Information Commissioner.

Read the other comments here Fred. These lot are trying to defraud you. Do not talk to them and never give them you bank details. As suggested above, you might want to post them a stool sample, I think they use the feaces fir research.

Back again are we Sera? Couldn't resist a last minute attempt to scam some old lady by selling her useless and overpriced supplements that are NOT proven to offer any health benefits whatsoever? Everyone who reads this forum will be alerted to the fact you are a scam company, so you are wasting your time trying to sell to anyone here.
