Report a phone call from 01922420057 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Adam
- BrianHi all,
Barclaycard has just been fined £50,000 for making excessive silent calls and the full story can be found on the BBC website by clicking here:-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7637419.stm
Therefore, if you are receiving excessive or repeated silent calls from anyone, can I urge you to REPORT THE MATTER TO OFCOM ASAP.
Sooner or later, the p*ssed off general public will win and get this illegal activity stopped.
Thanks in advance for your support.
Brian - CanyonSick to death of these people....4 times today....silence then as soon as a voice comes on I just hang up ...
- scallyteacherI think what your doing here is brillo! i have started getting this number 4 x, followed by 4 x blocked calls, every day this week.
It annoys me when the phone rings and disturbs my concentration when studying, working, or watching a good film or documentary.
So i no longer have the ring tone on and leave all calls on computer for when i am ready to recieve calls. It annoys friends because they can no longer get an instant response. The number of false calls is so bad it's like an invasion of personal space and time.
Today i recieved a call from homeserve and the backgrround noise was of a call centre and a male voice said 'erm' and put the phone down.
The Ofcom rule suggests it is only for those that pick up should recieve a message after 2 rings (the time it normally takes for dozy people to answer when they have just made the call!). I have had this happen and it's even more annoying than silent ,as it is completely automated so why bother calling?- Caller: homeserve
- BrianThanks - it's my pleasure :)
As I say, just report any telephone abuse from this number straight to Ofcom. - AdamThe Financial Services Authority (FSA) should also be told, as they have a very strict Code of Practice for their members.
- mehad these guys call me 13 times today,i jus ended up unplugging my landline in the end they are so annoying
- Caller: 01922420057
- SusanCalled today around 12.30pm, no one there
- adam 2Can i just point out that while the info here is good that going to the FSA will not work in this instanbce. I work with the FSA and Although nsurance companies are regulated by the FSA they simply regulate the legal aspects of the documents and certificates, terms and conditions and the way that bank account details are used. All the FSA will say on this subject is refer you to the ofcom or another body. I am not trying to point out wrong info i amjust advising that going to ofcom first could save a wasted phone call to the FSA.
- AdamAgreed.
However, the FSA will fine member firms and name them if they don't meet their standards.
Please see the FSA website.
I know that the making of excessive silent and abandoned (illegal) calls is not within their very high standards.
Thanks anyway. - Homeserve Employee| 1 replyYou keep moaning about receiving excessive calls. Do any of you actually answer the agent calling you? If you did you would speak to someone who is there doing a job and if you advise them you arent interested and would like your details to be removed it would be done. It really p****s us off when you wont speak as your name has to go back into the dialler or the agent can be penalised financially if they dont do their job properly. As Adam said so long as Homeserve comply with the FSA Regulations there is nothing they will or can do inrelation to you receiving calls. I am glad though that the company are giving you something to fill your empty lives and minds.
- R J SingletonJust can't get any peace during the day or evening, I wish I had the MD's home phone No
- Tom@ R J S,
Someone posted the MD's email address on page 5 of this thread - try that. - someone (again)Ha ha
losers. cant think of anything to say so trying the insults. Wow, homeserve are winding people up. I think its great and i hope they continue if this is the sort of people you all are. I might apply for a job so i can do it too.
Keep writing your insults cos the more time you spend on here means that you arent telling them to stop which means it will continue. Dont worry guys, common sense will prevail one day. Its great that they dont call me. - PaulineTo the poster above,
What on earth are you doing posting in this thread regarding Homeserve if they don't call you ? ? ?
You obviously work there, but are ashamed to admit it because you know that they break the law with their silent calls.
Get a life / a proper job. - Chris PI am looking after my 98 year old mother, she has answered this telephone call on a number of days and was confused by the silence, thinking she had done something wrong to break the call. I have intercepted a couple of these calls, all occuring about midday and have experienced total silence followed by a click and then a continuous tone. Now I find it was from Homeserve who we have insurance with. This is appalling business practice and I will be now taking my custom elswhere.
- AngelaWhat disgraceful behavior from the cowboys at Homeserve.
I would be tempted to report this sort of incident to the press. - m Wride2nd call received and no one there when answered
- Annoyed phone ownerNo fun rushing to answer the phone when you are busy and one at the other end speaks!
- Caller: no idea
- DBWWe have been getting letters from these in conjunction with Severn Trent water. First time I've had a call though and I don't appreciate it. I only gave my number to the water company for their own use.
