After replying to Homeserve informing them that my first email was not a request, but an instruction, and that Ofcom had been notified of their illegal practices, and would be updated on every occasion that a silent call occurred from 01922420057, my friend has received no further calls whatsoever from this bunch of shysters, after their initial email claiming to 'need more information'.

Interesting how effective it can be to bring a coryzal bovine into the affray. isn't it?

    Hi Brian,

Well, I'm now back from my six week Caribbean cruise - it really was fantastic.

I see that the muppets at Homeserve are still p*ssing off the general public with their ridiculous phone calls. I also see that they are now posting comments on this thread which seems to highlight their level of stupidity

I'll have a good old read through this rather lengthy thread and post my observations soon.

All the best mate and keep up the good work,

    Ron

This number called a few moments ago, I picked up and said 'hello', but the line went dead.

We're registered with TPS, for all the good it does...

"observations" ha loser. it really is pathetic how you think this is such a big deal with all the problems in the world. I have isnurance with Homeserve and i was getting calls. I found the number through this site. I have called homeserve and they have removed my number from their system. I just dont know why thius is so hard for a lot of people to do. And as for making this some sort of battle you are fighting. Oh my god, and you call homeserve pathetic and stupid. They are obviously clever enough t ignore you all when you do try and talk to them. I have looked through the posts on this site and i think that Ron, Brian and Me are all daft who have turned this sight into an im better than you rather than informing people of who is making the calls in order that they can contact the company and opt out of marketting calls. Im sure there are people who will agree that trying to prove you are better than the other guy who has psoted is not the reason for this site.
Ron stop wasting your life with reading all the posts and making your observation. Did you fail law school or something and now this is how you get your kicks.
Make your post, tell people who you think is calling and what you think their contact details are and let people fight their own battles

Called again. Silent call at first, then rustling papers then they hang up. When I investigate I get an automated answerphone saying that I was called today by Homeserve and they will try ring me again later. Time of call: 18:45

    The idiots are calling again.

One call with a person on the other end and three silent ones, with NO legally-required recorded ID message.

I'll soon be on first-name terms with the staff at Ofcom. Never mind, if that's what it takes, that's what I'll do.

Oh, and Homeserve employees -  neither 'coryzal' not 'bovine' are especially long words, you know.

Just try to redial it. The most frustrating thing is what they say when you dial them back: "Homeserve called you today. We will try again later..."

Believe it or not this company were recommended to us by Glow-Worm when we were seeking a reputable company to service their boiler!! We took out a service contract with them, the boiler has been serviced very satisfactorily. Unfortunately we have arrived home from work several times recently to find we have missed calls from this number. Consequently we are now unsure as to whether to cancel the agreement and the direct debit - we are horrified by some of the stories on this and other web sites concerning their persistent and aggressive approach.

Let them rabbit a bit, then ask them "should you phone the council, or will they" there will be a pause, then apology and ring off. after which your house will be logged as a council property and your number removed from the database.

Works a treat EVERYTIME! i never hear from these companies again.
