We have told Home serve numerous times that we do not want their cover and they still keep ringing. This is intrusive and annpoying.

Yep - I keep gettings calls from these people as well. I had an insurance contract with them once which I've cancelled. Guess that's where they got my details from as we're also registered with TPS. What's really annoying is that they never leave a message.

I have now added them to the call bar list on our phone so won't be hearing from the again!

This number is the Homeserve direct number.  Originally I was called by Homeserve several times a day.  I called their number (01922420057) back to complain, and this routes back to a window and locks company who are no longer affiliated with Homeserve (why then does the number route back to them?)
They have now given me this number: 0800 783 0951 to request that my number be removed from their data-base, as we have never, and will never use their services.
I have spoken to a very helpful lady on the phone, who has taken me off their sales enquirey list.
    advise you do the same!

Thanks, Kt, for posting the 0800 number and advice.  Finally got through and a helpful young man took my details and apologised for my being disturbed by silent calls.  Has said he will remove my number from Telesales database immediately.  Back to sleep now (I hope).

'whocallsme' is an excellent tool to try to get some peace!!

Unsolicited call on three consecutive nights deliberately timed - 6ish when most people (like me) get in from a day's work and start getting something to eat. Ensures that you'll 'catch' people in. Verges on trespassing/abusive to do this, I feel.

This number has been calling me 2-3 times per day for over a month.  They don't look like they are going to stop.  I never answer it so I haven't verified that it's a sales call.  If it is, it's illegal as I'm registered with TPS, but I suspect it will be a silent call

First call from this number this evening, but didn't answer it.  I am with British Gas and have had to call them out a couple of times this winter and am wondering if they are anything to do with this company who have phoned.  Seems a bit of a coincidence.

Apparantly, Homeserve are affiliated with or are doing some kind of deal with Thames Water.  Tried to flog me insurance on my incoming water pipes for 99p a month for a minimum of 15 months.  Even when I said that I was moving in a few months the caller tried to get me to buy the insurance for the new property!!

Called me 17 times so far this week. Will be making one hell of a formal complaint for harassment and nuisance calling. I am on TPS.

They have the cheek to ask "how are you this evening". I was fine thanks until you decided to piss me off again.

    Evil ........

It's ridiculous because I'm only fifteen and they keep calling me during lessons. I've never actually managed to pick up the phone and talk to anyone though... no doubt my teacher would like to have a "friendly" word with them; that is of course if it's not an automated recording, which it more than likely is.

Some of the comments on here are shocking. Homeserve have a call centre based in Walsall. I have friends who work in the inbound call centre as have I. They are heavily regulated by the FSA and all of the calls Homeserve make and receive are recorded. People who suggest the callers are evil must have something very wrong with them! Most of the call center staff are. I have never come accross a company that pays so much attention to the welfare of customers. They promote "treating customers fairly" which is one of the FSA principles. If they were doing something wrong by calling people it would be stamped out straight away.  It takes no time to say no thankyou to the person on the line, remember they are doing an honest job to earn a living. They are not calling from a prison cell or even your worst nightmare, India! In my minds eye I see some of you sad people slamming the phone down and rantiong on for another 10 minutes about another bloody call from India! Get a life!

first of all i'd like to start off by saying the i hate cold callers as much as anyone else, but a lot of people on here are going the wrong way about things. i work for homeserve in an outbound call centre in brighton. it doesn't matter if your number is ex-directory or on the TPS, the data is derived from contact numbers given to your water boards or other affiliation partners. if you're finding the calls a nuisance just answer the phone, confirm who you are, and ask to be suppressed from future telemarketing and/or mailing lists. also it's worth doing a 1471 after and calling the number back, because with our call centre that gets you through to a recorded message giving you the option to press a button to stop recieving calls from the call centre. picking up the phone and and just saying 'not interested' without listening to the opening of a call and confirming who you are will just get you another call back. as mentioned by others previously, homeserve is under FSA regulations, and part of that includes QA teams at the call centres. people we ask to speak to are known as decision making contacts, so we need to speak to that person and explain the reason of the call and the answer from that person is what will define if you will get called back or not. if you're getting a lot calls it's likely that you're not the decision making contact but keep hanging up on a caller, or avoiding confirming who you are. those calls will just get a 'callback wrong party contact' outcome. even though this may not seem fair it's a double edged sword - commission is cut for incorrect outcoming, and really all you have to do to prevent it is be polite and ask nicely to be removed from the calling list. i find the comments on here to be quite ignorant, you're wasting time bitching on a message board when you could've just avoided the problem in the first place. if you ignore the phone you'll get automatically dialled again each hour until you answer. don't take it out on us, we're trying to do as an honest job as we can. someone that spends 8 hours a day on a dialler is going to appreciate you being rude to them as much as you appreciate the call in the first place, we're not intentionally intruding your day, and getting this wound up about something that can be resolved so simply and isn't really that much of an issue is pretty pathetic.
