Homeserve they call up but don't leave a message this is just a nuisance call. Then you call the number back to see who it was get a short message saying homeserve & you get charged for the pleasure.

I ususally ignore the phone when these companies ring but as I received four calls in one day i finally got annoyed and answered it. I waited for them to speak - once they did I firmly said 'don't ever call me again - if you do I will inform the police that your company is harrassing me so remove my details from your mailing list' and then I hung up. So far so good and i have done this in the past which seems to have worked. If they ever do ring me again I will inform the police as something should be done!

I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me. I am not intrested in whatever you are trying to sell me. It is borderline harrassment. You ring me several times a day. Surely by the 10th attempt you would get the hint?!!!!

I got a call from this lot today - I proceeded to explain that as I am a member of TPS and all decent companies adhere to the request not to call members, obviously the company that they work for is not too good and maybe they should look for another job (I even suggested some job sites!!). I then went on to talk about the weather and how much later it's getting dark etc.

After about 10 minutes of wasting thier time I apologised and said I had to answer the door. Dunno how long they held on but they'd gone when I went back 20 mins later.

Hope they call back soon so I can tell them how nice the flowers look down our road!

These are a right pain!!!  You'd think they'd get the hint after trying to phone me 15 times this week and not getting an answer...........  what gives them the right to hound you so much!!!  Going to try and block the number somehow!!

I already have insurance with them! When will this ridiculous system cease, that because you have had recent (sensible) dealings with a company, that triggers endless calls with no-one on the end. Counter-productive and bad for their image.

Homeserve - have called me 4 times today and it's only 1pm. (automated, mostly silent calls, others with long delay). Called their customer services (0800 24 7 999; http://www.homeserve.com/) and complained. Was told they would take me off dialing list, but it might take a couple of days. 30 minutes later received another sales call. Have now told them twice that if calls continue I'll cancel my policy and report them to Offcom.

Suggest any other people plagued by these clowns call the above number and complain. If you don't have a policy with them I suggest you avoid them if you want to avoid cold calls - apparently being on the Telephone Preference Service doesn't protect you from sales calls from companies you have policies etc with.

I just had yet another call from this number. I am fully aware of their misleading tactics and so I immediately confronted the caller when she claimed to be from Santander and asked me to confirm my address and postcode for "security reasons".

I asked her outright if she was actually from "Homeserve" and not Santander but she absolutely insisted throughout that she was calling from Santander - despite the fact that I told her the number she was calling from came back as Homeserve. She told me that "Homeserve are the underwriters of the policy" but she is calling from Santander.

The phone number she called from is definitely from Homeserve and Santander do not recognise the number so she basically lied to me. I then asked her to remove all my information from the database and never to contact me again. I also told her that she was misleading.

This "Homeserve" company use very misleading tactics and try their best to confuse people.

Had a guy called Paul call me today claiming he was from Santander.

This was the first call in a couple of months from these guys.
He asked specifically for my dad. When I told him I think he had the wrong number he said "Oh doesn't he live at this address?"
I said again he had the wrong number I put down the phone.

Hope they don't ring again. After everything I've read, I'm glad I haven't given out any personal details!

Just received my first call from this number. I am ex-directory, withheld number & on TPS so somebody else must have passed the number on to them, even though I always tick boxes to say no 3rd parties to contact me when I fill in forms. I don't think companies take any notice of it, it's only there because it's a legal requirement to have it. Wish I could send a lightning bolt down the line. Maybe invest in an air-horn, I saw one at Pound Stretcher the other day.... Hmmmm ;-)

They call everyday and I ignore them. Today they called 4 times before midday at which point I answered. My logic is this - they are being rude and intrusive by keep calling me, so while I can't put on this forum exactly what was said I assume we will now not swap Christmas cards.

    (Posted this on MoneySavingExpert today)

Have been getting a lot of calls from Homeserve on 01922 420 057 this evening I answered and was told it was Santander (my bank) calling, customer service, offering a deal for three months as described above. Asked for "security details". I declined the offer. I called Santander this evening "complaints". They denied that they have passed my details onto Homeserve. They denied they knew this company. They said they could not help as there was nothing stopping anyone saying they are Santander, and it was up to me to be vigilant. I also spoke with a supervisor. I pointed out they should therefore alert customers or post a warning on the website. Of course they said they had not received any complaints (at first), then admitted "had not personally" but yes they were aware.

Then called Homeserve number 0800 24 7 999 spoke with them. I told them I had received calls. She told me the number 01922 420 057 was a call back number (1471) - but was not active. Also told me in detail that they were under instruction from Santander to contact Santander customers and "pretend" to be from Santander. Also I was told Santander customer details were passed from Santander to Homeserve. Homeserve are not anything to do with Santander only an agent selling services. I would add that this conversation I recorded. I asked the person to repeat the process and confirm that Santander details were passed to Homeserve, and Homeserve were under instructions from Santander to pretend to be Santander to sell services via Homeserve. They stated yes. In effect selling me what I already have in home insurance. However Santander denied it.

    Recording available.

I then asked for my details to be removed - which they did.
