Report a phone call from 01922420057 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- ABrian.....whilst your intentions are good, you are sadly misleading people. Homeserve are NOT breaking the law. You do not know the status of all the people whom have submitted entries to this site.
Let's try to keep it simple:-
Scenario 1: If you are TPS registered AND not a customer of Homeserve, then Homeserve will not contact you as TPS suppressions are applied prior to conducting any acquisition of new customers.
Scenario 2: You are an existing HOMESERVE customer, TPS registered AND NOT opted out from Homeserve directly. Unless you have specifically OPTED OUT of tele-marketing you will/can be contacted LEGALLY by Homeserve.
TPS does NOT apply to EXISTING customers (as long as you have not opted out by contacting Homeserve directly) as it is accepted you hold an existing relationship with the supplier and therefore may wish to know of future products).
Scenario 3: You are existing HOMESERVE customer AND Opted Out directly from Homeserve contact: Regardless of your TPS status you will not be dialled by Homeserve as you have notified us directly of your wish NOT to be contacted.
Scenario 4: You are NOT an existing HOMESERVE customer and TPS registered (and or opted out from Homeserve directly). You will not be contacted.
Hopefully this should resolve any confusion. No system is 100%, mistakes can occur and I would urge you all to speak to Homeserve (a freephone number) should anyone NOT wish to be contacted.
Hope this clarifies matters for you all. Homeserve are not in the business of annoying it's customers I am sure. However more so than vent your frustrations out on a website, maybe you should follow the advice of "me" and actually engage in meaninful communication with Homeserve. Only then can the issued be addressed.
Regards
A - BrianA,
I've posted comments on this thread on just three occasions:- 1/9/08, 5/9/08 and 8/9/08.
Can you therefore please point out to us all exactly how I am, as you say, "misleading people" ?
Which words ? Which sentence ? Which paragraph ? Which post ?
I look forward to seeing your reply.
Thank you,
Brian- Caller: Homeserve

why do you think i am connected with Homeserve just because i am not saying anything bad about them. Is it really that hard for you to believe that not all of us are as grumpy as you.
I will go back to my previous advise. I am a customer of homeserve. I did used to get them calling me to ask if i was interested in new products. Do you know what i did. I spoke to homeserve and asked them o take me off their phone lists. Guess what happened next. This may shock you all. They dont call. WOW. How amazing is that. I cant believe it. Am i the only one who has had the common sense to do that. I am not moaning about homeseve as i think they provide a good service.
Ron stop telling people that HS are breaking the law. What A said in the last post was spot on an correct. What do you do for a living Ron. I do work in insurance and i am guessing A does too. So why not take our advice. As A has said previously it can take up to 4 weeks for all marketting to stop if you request it. I would like to know how many of you idiots have actually asked to be removed from the phone lists. Who has the guts to call them. Or do you find it better to hide behind forums and cry rather than standing up for yourselves.
How many of you will continue to moan on this site after you have aked to be removed. Let us all know when you have some courage. - meOh yeah ron
HS do work with the water companies. Check their bloody website and find out about them and get your facts right before you start making clever dick comments like that. I own a couple of properies over the country and have cover with HS for them and they do work with the likes of anglian water, severn trent and all the others. - RonI've checked their bloody website (lik wot u sugestid) and guess what - they DO NOT work with ALL the water companies !!!
There are 13 water companies listed here:- http://www.homeserve.com/partners/utility
And there are actually 25 water companies in the UK:-
http://www.water-guide.org.uk/companies.html
How strange - I wonder why "me" is telling us porkies ?- Caller: Homeserve
- mewhy are you so concerned with knowing exactly how many water companies ther are. and i really dont understand what you mean by " i wonder why me is telling porkies". Have you actually attemped any of the things that i said in my last post. Or is it because i have some insurance with homeserve that i do have some knowledge of what i am talking about. And dont you think its funny how not many people have made any new posts since i said about asking homeserve to take you off the marketting. i would like to see some people actually make some posts saying that they have called homeserve and say what happened when they did. Have you asked homeserve to remove you from their telephone lists. If you have then what happened.
- RonOn the 7th September for some reason, you posted this misleading statement in this thread:-
"You all use water and electricity and they all work with homeserve."
Then on the 8th September for some reason, you posted this misleading statement in this thread:-
"I own a couple of properies over the country and have cover with HS for them and they do work with the likes of anglian water, severn trent and all the others."
I have now proven in my last post that Homeserve DO NOT actually work with ALL the water companies.
I am therefore totally baffled as to why you choose to post misleading information on this website.
You obviously don't know Homeserve very well after all.- Caller: Homeserve
- RonI'm off on 6 week cruise.
Bye bye :) - mehave fun mate. But beofre you go as you seem to enjoy this sort of thing Youhave sated that you emailled their "top man" Richard Harpin and that they dont call you now, so why are you still here? i think i have it. You are oneof those people who is not happy unless you are unhappy about something. Did you reeive an email back from Richard or from somebody else. Do you really think that email would have gone to him? chances are they all get diverted to somewhere else in the company on his behalf. You are the person who likes to think you are the all powerful andtherefore trwals through this ages after your issuehas been resloved just to be thebig man with all the answers for everybody else. You dont have them. I have proved that with my comments, so has "A" and so have you when you stated you emailled HS and they have not called you since. Why keep going on about it when the advice everyone else has given on this site has worked. Find something decent to enjo on your hols. Or maybe you will be unhappy with the food there. And why do you think my nam is me. Perhaps you already know me.
- meandone more thing, why do you post misleading info saying HS are breaking the law. They are not. Bye bye Ron
- BrianOh dear !
Ron has only been gone a couple of days and they've already started upsetting people again.
I'm still waiting for a response from "A" as well. - meHa do you see ron as a god. Ha ha. You wouldnt be upset if you just ask them to stop calling you. Think bout it. They are trying to call you for a reason. It may not be anything you are inerested in but if you just ignore the call then they will keep calling. As far as they are concerned they have a reason to call you. Answer the phone. Tell them that you are not interested and you do not want them to waste their breath telling you about whatever it is and then asking them to remove you from the phone list, and ask for a written confirmation that it has been done.
Why are people so afraid to jsu answer the phone and say this. the more you ignore it the more you will get called. Would you ignore a letter from a debt collector if they told you that some big men were coming to take your things or would you speak to them to try and stop it happening. The same principal applies in this case.Try it. You never know you may be happy with the results and can get on with the lives that you seem to think Homeserve are making miserable - BrianThe above post by "me" includes the statement ...... "Tell them that you are not interested and you do not want them to waste their breath telling you about whatever it is and then asking them to remove you from the phone list, and ask for a written confirmation that it has been done."
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, under any circumstances, give them your address or any other personal details. - TommyCaller hung up as soon as I lift the phone...
- meBrian
Ok then dont ask for written confirmation. But if it continues you then have no evidence that of what they said. And er, guess what. They will already have your address details if they ave yur phone number. They either get it all if you have been a customer of theirs or even if you have not told your water board not to pass your details on. Have a look at HS website. You will see that they are also responsible for a number of warranties including furniture, cameras, DVD players so you may be a customer of homeserve but are so ignorant you did not even bother to find out that you would be a cust of theirs. But you know everything dont you Brian. Why are so many people scared of somebody who tells you all exactly what is the rght thing to do. Is it because you do not like to be told you are wrong. And dont bother wasting your time by writning in your next post that they will not have your address unless you give it to them. You are all moaning that they have your tele number and you have not given it to them. If you read my other posts you will already know that i work or an insurance company that is regulated in the same way and by the same people as homeserve. And ironically i am a complaints handler so i do not what i am talking about. You just cant seem to accept that what i am telling you is righ and is also good advise. You are on this forum for advise and yet you seem like you do not want to take it when it is given to you. If you will not listen to people then you will get no-where. I hope you do keep getting called. Maybe then you will listen to what is good advise - witchyPerhaps me you could try adult literacy classes- you seem to have a few problems with the written word, maybe the spoken word as well?
- meSorry *itchy. I mean witchy. (Bad literacy) But i am actually dyslecsic and actually take offence to that comment. Anyway why are you so concerned with my spelling. Cant you thjink of anything decent to write on here. Too afraid to say that i am right in what i have said.
- medo i not even get the courtesy of a apology from *itchy. Think what you write befor eyou write it. Again you don not answer why you have a dig at my spellng. You really think the fact i cant spell is going to make homeserve stop calling people. Why dont you post your excellent piece of avice then!!!!
- HighlanderReported Homeserve to the Data Commissioner who told them where to get off.
